Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a quick look at this Bolt replacement toolbox latch lock cylinder. This is going to replace the lock cylinder in your Bolt toolbox latch. That's gonna code to the late model GM keys. This will fit with the model that you see on the screen there. So if you are needing to switch out that original core, whether the original has become damaged or because the bolt locks are permanently coated to only one vehicle key and cannot be recoded or re-keyed, if you are switching to a different vehicle, and you wanna use a different ignition key, you can switch out the core here so that you can get that key set up to work with your toolbox latch.
The installation is going to require a nut that is sold separately. You can find it here etrailer using that part number that you see on the screen there, and that's going to allow you to get the cylinder secured in place. This does come with a limited lifetime warranty, so if you we're to have any issues with it, you're more than welcome to reach out to us. But because this is a direct replacement from Bolt, then you can trust it is gonna be compatible with the rest of your setup. No worries about fit issues or anything like that.

Customer service and communication from etrailer.com are Top notch! The lock cylinders fit and in my application had to be slightly modified due to the hardware used on an ARE DCU CV 2018 6.5 contractor cap. They coded with my ignition key and work!
Got 3 cylinders for the used cap I purchased. The cylinders worked flawlessly. It truly is as simple as the directions, 1) remove protective sticker, 2) insert truck key, 3) turn key clockwise. BOOM.. Good to go.

After a year lock still works great
It did not work! I am a mechanic by trade I watched the video read the directions did everything correctly and the cylinder did not key to my key It is the correct cylinder for my application

Installed them on a century contractor topper so it could be keyed the same as my 01 Chevy. Perfect fit. A little stiff at first when they are learning the key but after working them a few times, they’re nice and smooth now and work great.
Locks went in easy and keyed with no pr oblems
