Features to know about

Get More Out of Every Trip: Class III Strength with 2" Receiver

With a 3,500 lbs maximum gross trailer weight and 350 lbs tongue weight (or up to 5,000 lbs GTW and 500 lbs TW when used with weight distribution), this hitch is built for light towing, bike racks, or cargo carriers. The 2" x 2" receiver opening works with most common accessories, so you can attach a ball mount for a small trailer, a platform rack for bikes, or a cargo basket for extra storage. It’s sturdy enough for everyday use and flexible enough to handle whatever you want to haul next.

Skip the Welding: Bolt-On Installation with Included Hardware

You don’t need special tools or a lift to get this hitch installed. The fully welded receiver bolts directly onto the vehicle’s frame—no welding required. The precision robotic welds give it a solid fit and clean alignment. All mounting hardware and instructions come in the box, so you can bolt it up yourself or hand it off to your local shop knowing they’ll have everything needed.

Built to Last: Matte Black Powder Coat Over Steel

The matte black finish isn’t just about looks—it’s a protective layer over durable steel that resists rust and corrosion. The finish has a rugged, carbide-like texture that hides dirt, scuffs, and dings better than glossy coatings. Whether it’s rain, gravel, or years of daily use, the tough coating helps the hitch keep its clean look and stay strong over time.

Ready for Everyday Towing: Round-Tube Design and Lifetime Support

The round-tube design gives the hitch a simple, factory-like appearance under the bumper while keeping the strength you need for towing. It’s backed by a limited lifetime warranty and designed for long-term reliability. Whether you’re towing a small camper or adding storage for a trip, this hitch is built to handle regular use without fuss.

Fit perfectly. Nice and tight to the bottom of the bumper. Doesn't stick out so you won't bang your shins on it.

by:

Great fit with a 2018 AWD Sienna.

by:

Love the product, very well made. Very beefy and sturdy, it’s heavy and solid. It was very easy to install on my dorkmobile and the hardware provided is all that you need. I would recommend this thing to everyone that has a 05 Toyota Sienna and wants a hitch on it!

by:

This hitch fit perfectly…all the holes lined up exactly. It was a little awkward to hold in place while we placed the bolts as the hitch is heavy…but manageable for two “Older Americans”. Torque ratings were also a little awkward on our back…just found a bigger “cheater”. Hitch is extremely solid. An area for improvement would be the template/directions for cutting the rear “air dam/mud guard. It was a little unclear but we managed.

by:

Very easy install. Took 2 of us about 45 minutes from start to finish. Flanges on hitch where bent a little bit from shipping but we were able to straighten them out.
Hitch scrapes sometimes when i leave my driveway or on certain Speed Bumps but overall a great well built Hitch.

Product is reasonably well made. Accessories are poorly made and packaged. The paper box came in almost completely dismantled and both mounting screws and pin alignment stop were missing, and the receiver was lightly scratched. However the customer service did immediately shipped out the replacement mounting accessories and alignment stop within days, and credited me $xx, for touchup paint from local [hardware store]. The touchup paint was a nice touchup. Thanks!

by:

Looks great! It's so new I haven't put it to a test yet. It will be used primarily for transporting electric bikes. One bike is a fat-tire bike. Viewing your reviews of best bike carriers. The trailer hitch receiver was installed professionally.

by:

First-class build quality. The welds are solid and the cuts are crisp.

The only reason for 4/5 stars is that the instructions need significant work. The photos are small and dark, the text is terse, and the difficulty is significantly under-rated.

I am a skilled handyman with all required tools. This project took me about two and a half hours, and a significant part of that time was spent scrutinizing the sparse instructions.

The price was also reasonable. I'm a repeat customer, and I would definitely buy again.

Four images attached. Use as you like.

xxx32.jpg: Close up of long transverse cut across splash guard for guards that have long ridge that interferes with hitch.

Exactly as described. Fit my vehicle perfectly. Can't go wrong with the detailed instructions and videos per vehicle year too!

The trailer box arrived damaged but the trailer hitch receiver looked fine. When installing the hitch, it would not fit with several attempts. I contacted etrailer for support and received an email instruction to realign the hitch. After realignment of hitch, it fit just fine and the hitch looked awesome. Thanks etrailer for the quick response on the solution. The hitch was mis-aligned due to shipping. The hitch is very strong with an awesome price from etrailer. I have purchased another hitch from etrailer and it was also great quality. Thanks again (Quinn F. at etrailer) for providing quick support to solve my problem. Great value with free shipping. (2011 Toyota Sienna)

by:

Really nice not having the hitch in the way when not in use. Installation is not for the faint of heart

by:

It took me awhile to install the hitch only because I did it myself, the hitch lined up perfectly with the bolt holes & I did not remove the exhaust hanger (2005 Toyota Sienna)

by:

Built solid as a tank. Beautiful welds. Highly recommend.

After a year it still looks like its brand new. Works great! Highly recommend.

by:

Great fit for a 2015 Sienna LE FWD. Had to use a Dremel tool to cut away just enough of the thin plastic guard under the van so it would fit snuggly. I was able to install it solo.

by:

I’m very impressed with this company and the quality of the products, both the hitch I ordered for my 2009 sienna and the wiring harness. The quality and fitment was perfect. While you could use a round brush, I preferred to use a tap to clean out the threads in the frame before I installed the bolts. I didn’t have to remove my bumper to install the hitch as I think some others have mentioned depending on model year.

by:

I am fairly mechanical and can savvy instructions well enough, so I read over them a few times prior to installing. I installed this by myself, with no other hands helping me - if this is you, READ ON!

I jacked up the back of the van and used two jack stands so that I could actually breathe. That made all the difference (don’t forget your parking brake!).

There is a piece of the body that is plastic - you will have to remove this and cut a hole so that the hitch mount will actuallly fit. I took the time to do this and it made the install so much easier. I had a set of tin snips and they worked great for this. Although, pay attention to the different fittings that hold this piece of plastic in place. There are three different kinds: Phillips screw, LARGE Phillips screws, and little pop out fittings. So you take this thing off and put it back on before you ever get to any of the actual installation.

There are covers for the welded frame nuts on the Sienna. They are basically stickers. I jabbed a hole in them with a screw driver and pulled them apart to expose the nut. Since they are covered, mine were clean as a whistle and I didn’t have to blow them out or use a wire brush.

Instructions for this item are great, measurements for the piece you HAVE to cut are totally correct, except I would make them bigger so you can fit your ratchet extension in.

I DID NOT lower the exhaust. I actually used it as a prop on the passenger side as I finger tightened a bolt on the driver side (remember I did this by myself). Then I finger tightened a couple of bolts on the exhaust (passenger) side. After finger tightening all of the bolts, I took my time tightening each bolt twice. I don’t have a torque wrench, so I don’t know how tight they are. I tend to have a tight grip, so I am sure they are fine, but I’ll check them again in a week or so. NOTE, tightening the bolts on the exhaust side requires you to pull the exhaust to the side so you can get your ratchet in position. I used the ratchet extension as leverage and this helped. If you could lower the exhaust, it might be easier, but that seemed like a needless pain.

We are taking our first trip with it this weekend - carrying three mountain bikes. I’ll check the bolts when we get there and when we get back.

All in all, this hitch mount is a beast. Very heavy duty, and will handle anything our Vinnie-Man will dish out :)

Thanks for the review! I highly recommend making sure those bolts are correctly torqued. Most national chain auto parts stores will loan tools for free if you leave a deposit, thatd be a great way to borrow a torque wrench.

Packging was inadequte. One of the hitch assembly mount flanges was bent. I had to bend if bck using a sledge hammer so the mounting holes would line-up. when i first tried to install it, theflange was bent by more than a inch. not only did the hole not line up but i could get the hitch around the fuel tank. after inspection I notice the bend and was able to correct it and install the hithc.

Hitch mustve been Stored High In Transit and ped. Packaging was inadequate as it was bent. Fortunately it was made from mild steel and maleable. I was able to bend it back so it would fit.

Prompt service. Got delivered very quickly and was at my house 2 or 3 days after ordering (I forget exactly, but it was fast). Note: I haven’t had it installed yet, so can’t comment on anything but promptness of delivery.

Hey, Tien! Definitely should have come with hardware - let me make sure we got some in the mail, headed your way!

by:

Fast shipping, fit like a glove after I crawled under the van. Good online video for the install. Kinda tricky doing it alone but prop one end up on a stool or something to get the other secured with a bolt, then you are good to go. I didn't remove the muffler, just pushed it out of the way while I installed the bolts. I used a rotary tool and a cutting blade to trim a rectangle in the splash panel for the left hand mount to slide through.

by:

Trail hitch delivery was fast and as expected. Part fit perfectly. Would’ve been an easy install had not been on a 20 year-old car with rusted bolts should’ve taken 20 to 30 minutes took a few hours, but the hitch was great. The service at the trailer was excellent.

by:

My hitch receiver arrived super fast and in great shape. Packaged well. Can’t wait to put it on. As a momma of 5 kiddos, we need this to get a cargo carrier for vacations and anything else we will be able to haul. I can’t speak on its performance yet but it looks like a great quality hitch receiver. I’m glad I ordered from etrailer.com!

Thank you, Ma'am! So glad to hear you like your hitch! Please let us know how the install goes!

by:

To begin, the pictures and measurements are not very clear on the instructions. I was able to complete though. The pitch on the threads of the holes and the bolts have to line up perfectly. It was frustrating getting it started. Once getting the bolts started it is very easy to access and torque the the specific rating. You must have a large torque wrench that goes up to 500ft lbs at least.

by:

Great product! I was actually buying a 2nd hitch the same as the one I previously purchased from etrailer for my 2016 toyota sienna van.

I was at a red light not moving at all and out of no where I was and hit from at high speed nearly destroying my van totally. But the hitch took the brunt of the impact and gave me the opportunity to fix the van thanks to the strenth of the hitch! I rebuilt the van and the hitch was bent but still works so now im replacing it qith this one! Thanks very much etrailer!

Good deal Joshua, I'm glad your van wasn't totalled!

by:

Ordering and purchase were very simple.
Installation was straightforward and required no special tools or drilling. It was necessary to remove a plastic shroud and cut a slot in it, but that was in the instructions and easy to do with a box cutter and a straight edge. Just 6 bolts (included) and you're done. Took about an hour.
High quality product. Probably stronger than the vehicle.

After a year, this hitch has been great! No heavy trailers have been towed, just a rack for a power wheelchair. It does lower the departure angle for an already low vehicle. That is to be expected. No significant corrosion. Solid product!

  • Recommended 2 Inch Trailer Hitch Receiver For 2009 Toyota Sienna For Best Ground Clearance
For your 2009 Toyota Sienna, I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # C13105 you referenced. From the lowest point of the hitch receiver you will have about 8-1/2 inches of ground clearance. The inside top of the receiver itself will be at 11-1/2 inches. This is identical to the etrailer option # e98837 and about 1 inch higher than the Draw-Tite # 75237 option. The SE and CE are trim models and don't impact the fit of the hitch receiver.

Hey good question, Scott. The etrailer Class 3 Round Tube Hitch # e98837 is compatible with a weight distribution (WD) system because the receiver is welded directly to the crosstube.
