Question:

Hitch for a 2009 Toyota Sienna We are looking for a class 3 hitch with maximum ground clearance. This Curt hitch looks plausible:C13105 What ground clearance should we expect, and do you recommend anything else that might increase that? Also, we are not sure if we have a CE or an SE we bought it used. The VIN lookup says it is an SE, but the badge on the back says CE. Does that matter for a hitch? Thanks!

For your 2009 Toyota Sienna, I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # C13105 you referenced. From the lowest point of the hitch receiver you will have about 8-1/2 inches of ground clearance. The inside top of the receiver itself will be at 11-1/2 inches. This is identical to the etrailer option # e98837 and about 1 inch higher than the Draw-Tite # 75237 option.

The SE and CE are trim models and don't impact the fit of the hitch receiver.

Great question. We do have the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # 75237 as a fit for the 2009 Toyota Sienna. In videos of similar model years which I've attached we see nearly the exact same measurements between this Draw-Tite hitch and the Curt # C13105 I previously recommended. If you look at the attached videos for the Draw-Tite hitch, the 2011 shows less ground clearance where the 2008 shows identical ground clearance to the Curt hitch on the 2009 model. That is where the discrepancy came into play with the question you referenced being on a 2013 model. Without having direct comparison of the 2009 model at this time, it appears the ground clearance will be almost identical when comparing the closest options we have of the 2008 and 2009 models.
