Features to know about

Keeps Your Trailer Level: 4" Drop or 5" Rise

Getting your trailer height right makes towing smoother and more stable. The Weigh Safe Aero Hitch adjusts up to a 4" drop or 5" rise, letting you fine-tune the connection for different trailers. The ball mount platform slides up or down the shank and locks in place with the included pin, so you can level your setup fast and get on the road with confidence.

Checks Load Balance Instantly: Built-In Tongue Weight Scale

Guesswork isn’t part of safe towing. The built-in tongue weight scale on the Aero Hitch shows your trailer’s load pressure right when you hook up. As soon as the coupler connects to the ball, the scale gives an automatic readout—no separate tools or trips to a weigh station. It’s a quick way to confirm your trailer is balanced before every tow.

Tows Heavy Loads with Confidence: 12,500 lbs GTW Rating

This hitch isn’t just about convenience—it’s built for serious hauling. Both the 2" and 2-5/16" setups are rated for 12,500 lbs gross towing weight, giving you solid performance for large trailers, campers, or boats. The high-strength steel shank and stainless steel hitch ball hold steady under heavy loads, keeping things secure mile after mile.

Switches Ball Sizes Fast: Clamshell Adapter Included

When you’ve got more than one trailer, switching coupler sizes shouldn’t slow you down. The Aero Hitch includes a clamshell adapter that converts the 2" hitch ball to a 2-5/16" ball size in seconds. Just slip it over the existing ball when needed and remove it when you’re back to a 2" coupler. No tools, no fuss—just quick flexibility for whatever you’re towing next.

Built to Last: Powder-Coated Steel That Resists Corrosion

Towing gear takes a beating from weather and road grime, but this hitch holds up thanks to its steel shank with black powder coat finish and corrosion-resistant stainless steel ball. It stays strong and good-looking through years of use, ready whenever you need to hook up and go.

Great peace of mind, well-made and great price!!!

Great project and great quality

I love this Hitch! This helps me better properly distribute my front to rear trailer weight. I do have one issue but it's due to my vehicle, but not currently affecting my ability to tow my current trailers. I can't do a rise due to my bumper facing being about a 1/2 inch too long/deep. Cybertruck.

That's awesome Scott! I'd love to see a photo of your Cybertruck once you're all set up to tow!

Looks good, easy to adjust.

It works great. A slight clunk when braking and coming to a stop but I think an anti rattle hitch tightener will eliminate that. Guage works well. Installed on my 2017 Tundra

Glad you are liking it (for the most part), Charlie! An anti-rattle device will definitely get rid of that clunking, but I do have to say that Toyota hitches can cause problems with some of them fitting. They typically have larger sidewalls than other hitches and you typically need to grab one that will fit a 2-1/2" hitch, even though you have a 2". Sounds weird, but we ran into this a lot before we got it figured out. With that said, my preferred anti-rattle device is the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch for 2-1/2" Trailer Hitches # RM-062. It's not super complicated and does a very good job. From looking at your picture, I am confident it will fit as well. What are you typically towing?

@LazerS Thank you for the insight on the anti rattle device. Usually a 5x12 utility trailer with wood or a 16 foot car trailer with maybe 8,000 lbs. at most.

@Charlie Nice. Definitely good to have the scale to see what kind of tongue weight you have with different loads. Side question, what are you carrying on the car trailer? With that kind of weight, I assume it's more than one.

@LazerS I usually haul my 67 cougar on it or 2or 3 tons of wood pellets for my stove. Wide range of weights

Nice to know if your tongue weight is in the 10 to 15% range.

by:

Love this product! Very simple and extremely heavy duty!

by:

My only disappointment is the scale only shows increments of 100. It would be nice if it could show them in increments of 50.

I can definitely see how having the extra dashes for the 50's would come in handy. I can totally pass this feedback on to the manufacturer for you, Eric!

Have not had a chance to try it yet but be soon, so far everything is going to plan :-)

Hitch works as a hitch should. I really enjoy the quick ball clasp that allows me to throw a 2 5/16" Ball trailer on it at a moments notice. The tongue weight being easily visible makes hauling takes significantly less guess work. Generally, you'd weigh the trailer tongue off the truck, but that takes time, requires a level place, you have to disconnect the truck... it's a lot of work, especially if you're just throwing stuff on a flat deck or loading a box trailer up. It's also super useful when balancing out your car hauler. It's almost 2 years old now, but works like brand new. I tend to baby it a bit more than my other ball hitches, but it's come in clutch when I needed it.

  • Does Weigh Safe Aero Hitch for 2" Hitch Have 2-5/16 inch Hitch Ball or Clamshell Adapter
Hey David, the Weigh Safe Aero Hitch part # WS77MR does have the clamshell style adapter to convert the hitch ball of it to a 2-5/16 inch ball size. With that removed it's a 2 inch ball. Is that what you were wanting?

  • Is the Weigh Safe Aero Hitch Available with a 2-5/16" Hitch Ball?
Hey Jason, The Weigh Safe Aero Hitch # WS77MR is only available from Weigh Safe with the 2" hitch ball and the clamshell adapter. For a similar ball mount that uses legit 2" and 2-5/16" hitch balls you can use the Weigh Safe Hitch w/ Built-In Scale # WS88VR instead. We have a plethora of other options as well, so if you'd rather go with something a little more cost-effective just let me know and I'll be more than happy to help you look into it further!

  • Can The Weigh Safe Aero Hitch Ball Mount And A Gen-Y Stacked Receiver Be Used Together
Hi John, That would be leveraging the weight further out from the hitch so you would have an unknown weight capacity and this would essentially be the same as using two adapters, which isn't recommended by us or Gen-Y. Are you trying to get more length to clear a spare tire or something else? I might have another solution for you if you can give me a better idea of what you're needing to do with these components.

  • Adjustable Ball Mount with a 2-5/16" Ball and 6" Rise That Provides 5-3/4" Bumper Clearance
I completely understand your frustration Joseph and I think that's a great point. That bumper clearance measurement is every bit as important as the rise and drop, especially when you're using the ball mount in the rise position. Without it, it's hard to know if the hitch is even going to work before you buy it. Based on the 5-3/4 inches of clearance you need, I'd go with the B&W Tow & Stow 2-Ball Mount, Part # BWTS10043B. It isn't exactly the same style as the Weigh Safe you were looking...

  • Recommended Locking Pins for Weigh Safe Aero Adjustable Ball Mount
Thanks for reaching out Phil, I wasn't able to find the OEM replacement locking pins but here's the positive, the adjustment holes on the Weigh Safe Aero # WS77MR are 5/8", so etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock # e98880 would work. For a set of 3 we have InfiniteRule Hitch Pin Lock Set # 34061650-D that comes with 3 matching keys, 2 long pins (5 3/4") and 1 short pin ( 5 1/4"). What do you tow most with this Weigh Safe?

  • Can The Weigh Safe Aero Hitch WS77MR Be Used In The Rise Position?
Hi John! The Weigh Safe Aero Hitch for 2" Hitch - 4" Drop/5" Rise - 12.5K - Steel # WS77MR can absolutely be used in the rise position (so the shank is pointing up instead of down). This does go for the vast majority of ball mounts on the market, but not all of them. If/when a ball mount cannot be used in the rise position, it will typically say something along the lines of "Use in Drop Position Only". Again, this is a pretty rare occurrence, but it does happen. What are you going to...
