Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

etrailer.com Technical Support

This was easy to install and definitely does the job well.

by:
2010 Nissan Altima

This hitch looks and fits great on my 2010 Altima. The only trouble I had installing this was removing the mufflers, they had a little rust on them and were slow to come apart, after that it was smooth sailing.

Finally got a chance to install this. I installed it by myself with no problem. Great quality product and it fit on my Nissan Altima like a glove.

Outstanding customer service, fast shipping and great instructions that made the installation easy.

Arrived a day earlier than expected! Noticed a few paint chips / scratches down to bare metal so I spayed with rubberized undercoating before putting on. Best prices - anywhere! Thanks etrailer!

2010 Nissan Maxima

I put this tow package on my 2010 Nissan Maxima and I couldn't be happier with how the ordering and installation went. The shipping was super fast and they upgraded me to 3 day for no charge. Also, you can barely see the receiver under the car which is a plus because it is a sporty car!

Nissan

Nice hitch. The hitch was shipped promptly. The only trouble with the installation was a problem with Nissan, not the hitch. You need to remove 5 fastners for the installation and all 5 threaded studs broke/sheared. I ended up drilling out the threaded studs on the muffler flanges and did not use OEM hardware again.

by:
2012 Nissan Maxima

Cant say I liked the design of having to drill through the bottom of the trunk vs. normal frame mount, but it did fit well when done. Instructions were good, and good value at price.

by:

Outstanding service. I called prior to ordering online, with a couple of questions. They were answered quicky. I then placed the order and it arrived sooner then expected. Etrailer is the only company I consider when buying hitches. The product is exactly what I expected. Etrailer is a pleasure to do business with. Fast delivery, best price and great technical knowledge, what else could I ask for.

by:

Perfect for my needs. Using for a Platform Bike Rack. Install was easy. Be sure to have Penetrating Oil for the bolts and juncture of the exhaust system that you will meed to take off. If your car has any miles or age on the clock, doing this will help.

by:

The trailer hitch was very easy to install. I installed it by myself with a hydraulic jack to support the hitch while I marked the holes. I didn't have a chance to use it yet, but I think it will be great for what i need it for.

by:

Perfect fit and no problems whatsoever with the installation. Not my first Draw-Tite, and I will continue to come back both to the brand and to eTrailer as shipping and price are and have been the best.

by:

I found it a lot easier to hold the hitch in place, mark 1 hole, lower the hitch and then drill out the hole. Next I flipped the hitch upsidedown in the trunk and put in the 1 bolt, marked the rest of the holes with a center punch, removed the hitch, drilled the holes from the trunk side and then mounted the hitch from under the car. Worked easier than holding the hitch, marking it and drilling.

by:

Product went on as described in the instructions. I had difficulty getting the muffler's off and ended up breaking the bolts that hold the two flanges together - so be prepared for this if the car has some miles and rust on it. Also broke the screw that holds the ground cable. In all, it took me about 3-4 hrs to install including a trip to the hardware store for new muffler bolts and good drill bit. It holds my bike rack very nicely and looking forward to towing some light loads with it! I will never look back at my trunk-mount bike rack again! Also, price was the best I found and shipping was speedy.

I got the trailer hitch and the wiring harnessmodule today. Etrailer processed my order the same day and even rushed the order to me at no extra charge with FREE SHIPPING. The hitch was an exact fit but NOT EASY TO INSTALL. It turns out that vehicles with 68,000 miles tend to weld the stud/nuts on the exhuast. The trailer hitch itself though is very well made and should work well durring our ownership of this car. The wire harness was SUPER EASY to install and worked flawlessly. It took all of ten minutes to install. The people at Etrailer paid more attention to email followup than any other company or Ebay seller I have ever dealt with. This has been a great experience. Thanks!

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver For a 2016 Nissan Altima
Currently we only have 1-1/4" trailer hitch receivers for your 2016 Nissan Altima. I recommend the Curt # C11352 over the Draw-Tite # 24796 which I see you found. I prefer the Curt as they have added gussets for strength where the mounting flanges bend to attach to the frame. I recommend installing the 4-Way # C56339 when you install the receiver. This will allow you to connect to most small trailers you might tow and also for Auxiliary Lights # C53201 on a hitch mounted accessory such...

  • Trailer Hitch for 2013 Nissan Altima Sedan that Does Not Require Drilling to Install
The Curt # C11352 and Draw-Tite # 24796 require drilling in order to install on a 2013 Altima sedan. If you're needing the hitch as an attachment point for a bike rack or other hitch mounted accessory, I'd recommend the Draw-Tite # 24796. If your owner's manual or Nissan says it's okay to tow with your Altima, you might also need the following: A ball mount Trailer wiring harness, part # 118470 2 inch trailer ball, part # 19258 1-7/8 inch trailer ball, part # 19256 Locking hitch pin,...

Yes, you can transfer the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4" # 24796 from your 2017 Altima to your new 2025 Altima. Yes, I can! To add a hitch to your 2024 Nissan Altima, I recommend the Draw-Tite item # 24796. This hitch is custom fit and bolts to your Nissan with included hardware. It is a class I hitch with a 1-1/4" receiver. It has a 2,000 lbs towing capacity and a 200 lbs maximum tongue weight. This is a class I hitch with a 1-1/4" receiver. It has a 2,000 lbs towing capacity and a 200 lbs maximum tongue weight. • Can the Safety Tab Be Removed on Class I Trailer Hitch Receiver for a 2008 Nissan Altima
The tab on the inside of the trailer hitch receiver for your 2008 Nissan Altima is meant to ensure that the user only uses Class I rated accessories in the hitch. As you can see in the attached photo. This is more of a safety precaution as Class I receivers like # 24796 cannot handle much weight especially if that weight is sticking out further from the receiver. It could damaged the receiver and ultimately damage your accessory (in this case your bike rack and bike). To answer your...

  • Compatibility of Curt Euro-Style Ball Mount w/ Draw-Tite Class I 24796 on 2010 Nissan Maxima
When we installed the Draw-Tite # 24796 on a 2009 Nissan Maxima, we found that the hitch height and the setback was the exact same as the Curt # C11352 you referenced. This being said, the Euro-style ball mount won't work with the Draw-Tite hitch. A Class I hitch has the hitch pin hole recessed further back in the receiver than a Class II hitch would be. When it comes to installing a trailer hitch onto your 2022 Nissan Altima the Curt Hitch # C11352 and The Draw-Tite Hitch # 24796 are your two options. Both hitches have a similar installation process but I would recommend The Draw-Tite Hitch # 24796 to have the easiest installation because you do not have to permanently remove the heat shield for the hitch installation like you do on the Curt Hitch. But both hitches, including Curt hitch # 11352, are built to meet or exceed required industry strength standards.
