Question:
I just purchased a Kuat Sherpa 2 bike rack S103. I want to also be able to use it with my 2009 Altima Sedan, but have some concerns based on your video review of the Sherpa when used with my year model. In the video you say that the rack lays flush with the vehicle when in the stowed position. I would rather have a little clearance and as such need to purchase the hitch that gives me the most clearance to the rear of the vehicle. I was unable to find any information on the clearances of the respective hitches available on your website, and am asking if you would know which one will work the best for my needs.

Of the hitches available for your 2009 Altima Sedan, the Curt # C11352 would be recessed under the vehicle by less than the Draw-Tite model. When installed, the Curt # C11352 hitch pin hole would be recessed 5 inches under the vehicle (distance from hitch pin hole to furthest rearward point of back bumper). The Draw-Tite # 24796 is recessed by about 6-1/2 inch inches.
Using the Curt hitch might allow you to fold the rack up, but as you mentioned, the rack would indeed be right up against the rear bumper. The rack would work just fine when folded down, but I would think twice about folding it up against the rear of the vehicle.
