Expert Reply:
Extend your trailer hitch receiver opening so that you can clear your spare tire when using your hitch-mounted bike rack or so that your trailer won't hit a rear-mounted propane tank when you make sharp turns. Powder coated steel resists rust. These extender fits 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" trailer hitch receivers (Class I or Class II). We have them available in 6" # HES6 and 10" # HES0.
Using a 1-1/4" extender will reduce your hitch's overall capacity by 50 percent.
These extenders go well with the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C12108 which is a confirmed fit for your 2008 Toyota RAV4
