Thanks for your recommendation. It looks like what I may need. Your caution raises a question. First, any advice regarding support chains going back to the sides like some of the truss models have? I can see that a longer tongue may tend to have some sway from side to side.

As long as you have a 2-1/2 inch hitch installed on your 2017 Ford F-350 we have the Curt hitch extension part # C45048 which is 34 inches long like what you said you'd need. It has a 4,500 lb trailer capacity though so you'll need to keep that in mind.
