Trailer Hitch Extension Recommendation for 1999 Ford F-350 with Chalet Truck Bed Camper

Question:
Hello, I have a 1999 f350 dually with a titan hitch paired with a 2012 chalet s85r truck bed camper that has a 36 overhang. We will be towing a 1999 jeep wrangler on a kar kaddy ss tow dolly yes we pull the driveshaft. The dolly has a max tongue weight of 100lb that it will put on the hitch so it should be less due to the weight of the jeep being under the max capacity of the tow dolly of 5000lb. What hitch extension length is recommended? It seems like it should be 36 but the hitch itself with the ball adds length so Im unsure. Thank you!

Hey Heather, yes the Curt hitch extension part # C45048 is going to be exactly what you are looking for. The length of it being 34 inches plus several more inches for the ball mount you go with will put the hitch ball exactly where it needs to be. Does your Ford truck have a 2 inch or 2-1/2 inch hitch installed on it?

Curt hitch extension works great I cut mine to 2 feet since my eagle cap 950 only has a 2 foot overhang. Terry
