When your fifth wheel's unhitched, your truck still has work to do. This cushioned 5th wheel to gooseneck pin box cuts down on chucking and frees up your bed when the trailer's parked so you can haul what you need, when you want.
When you're not towing your fifth wheel, you still need your truck bed open for everyday use. With this direct replacement pin box, you can hitch your trailer to a gooseneck ball and clear out the bulky fifth-wheel hitch that eats up space. Load your tools, haul lumber, or stow your weekend gear without worrying about having enough bed space. It's designed to keep your fifth wheels ride height and weight balance just right, and it installs with the included hardware. At about 175 lbs, it's a two-person lift, so grab a buddy or a hoist to make the job easier.
If you've had it with an air-bag pin box that seems to lose pressure or need topping off, this gooseneck pin box gives you the same comfort without the upkeep. The GooseTech cushioned pin box uses a heavy-duty rubber shear spring to absorb vertical and fore-and-aft movement, softening the jolt from bumps, dips, and bridge seams. You'll feel less chucking up front and experience a more relaxed ride on long hauls.
Although this pin box can tow up to 24,000 lbs, the internal rubber shear spring is optimized for trailers that range from 14,001 to 18,000 lbs. A rubber spring built for 24,000 lbs trailers would be too stiff to provide any cushion for a 14,001 lb trailer, while a rubber spring built for 14,001 trailers would be too flexible for a 24,000 lbs trailer. To get the best results from this cushioned pin box, the sweet spot is a trailer in the 14,001 to 18,000 lbs range.
With GooseTech, hooking up happens fast. As you lower your trailer onto the gooseneck ball, the spring-loaded coupler clicks into place and locks down tight, so you don't have to latch it by hand or wonder if it's secure. Once you're connected, climb in to attach your safety chains (sold separately) for that extra peace of mind before you head out. When it's time to unhook, reach into your truck bed with the included remote handle to pull the release handle. And when you're parked for the night, use the built-in lock hole to secure your trailer and sleep easy.
If you are not sure what pin box you have, there a couple way to figure it out. Consult this help article for more information: 4 Steps to Choosing Your 5th-Wheel Pin Box & How To Measure Your Pin Box

Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look together at this MORryde GooseTech 5th-Wheel to gooseneck pin box. Now, when you're not towing your fifth wheel, you still need your truck bed open for everyday use. With this direct replacement pin box, you're gonna be able to hitch your trailer to a 2-5/16-inch gooseneck ball, and that's gonna allow you to clear out the bulky fifth wheel hitch that eats up so much space in the bed of your truck. So, you're gonna be able to load up your tools, haul lumber, or stow your weekend gear all without having to worry about having enough bed space.
So, this is designed to work with your Lippert Rhino fifth-wheel pin box. And this powder coated steel is very rugged, durable, and robust. And this is going to support trailers between 14,000 to 18,000 pounds. So, this is going to keep your OEM ride height and balance, and this is going to install using the included hardware that you see here on my table. I do wanna let you know that whereas the installation is going to be pretty straightforward, this unit is very heavy, it weighs about 175 pounds.
I needed several people to help me safely get this on my tabletop. So, all that to say, when you are lifting this up, do make sure that you have enough support when you're lifting this up, whether it's with a hoist or you have a friend help you out just because of the weight of this unit. Now, if you are tired of airing up a hitch before every trip or worrying about leaks halfway through the trip, this gooseneck pin box is gonna give you that same comfort without the upkeep. This gooseneck cushion pin box uses a heavy-duty internal rubber shear spring, and that's going to absorb the vertical and fore and aft movement. It's gonna soften the jolts from bumps, dips, and bridge seams, and you're gonna be able to feel less chucking up front and experience a more comfortable, more relaxed ride on those long hauls.
Now I wanna give you a view of another angle here, a little bit closer up here of the coupler here. So, as you lower your trailer onto your 2-5/16-inch gooseneck ball, this spring-loaded coupler is going to click into place and lock down tight. So you're not gonna have to latch it by hand or wonder if it's secure. And actually what we have here is a Demco EZ Latch, which is going to be a very secure way to connect to your 2-5/16-inch hitch ball. So, you can leave that latch closed, and then drop that onto that ball, and it's going to immediately click into place without any issues whatsoever.
And if you notice here, we do have openings here for your safety chains. Those safety chains are sold separately. But you do want to have those. And you can find the safety chains that are gonna work with this on the related product section on this product page. Now when it's time to unhook, it's gonna be very simple. This does include this handle here. And this is going to allow you to uncouple outside of the bed of your truck. So, you're not gonna have to be inside of the bed of your truck. So, you're just gonna hook it onto that latch. And you're just gonna pull that all the way out. And then that's going to allow you to easily uncouple. Let me go ahead and just give you a view of the other side of this as well. So, this is included. And again, you're not gonna have to climb in your bed to disconnect. And so all in all, a very simple operation. Now, a note that I did wanna make. It is possible that you may not be too sure about what type of pin box or what kind of pin box you have. And there is a couple ways that you can figure that out on your own. On this product page, we do have a help article that we have written linked near the bottom of this page. So, take a look at that and follow the instructions there to help you determine what type of pin box that you have, to see if this is going to be the one that's going to work best for you. Now, if you do happen to have any other questions, whether it's about this or anything else that we carry, don't hesitate to reach back out to us. Because ultimately, we do wanna make sure that you're getting exactly what you need. Well, again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
After years of trying different hitch setups, the MoRyde GooseTech has become my favorite towing system yet. We’ve towed over 1,200 miles with it, and it’s been smooth, quiet, and completely maintenance-free , no airbags to refill, no grease fittings to mess with, and a super simple hookup process. Plus, when I unhook, I get my entire truck bed back. It feels like MorRyde took everything I loved about their rubber pin box and made it even better. I couldn’t be happier with how it tows.
Install was easy, less than an hour taking our time. Won't get to use it till sometime in the spring but it's ready to go and will be nice having the 8 ft. bed clear and useful!
