Recommendation for a 5th Wheel and Gooseneck Set Up for 2020 F-350 with Factory Puck System

Hi Danny,

Depending on how often you're switching between a gooseneck and fifth wheel trailer, I think the easiest set up would be to use the B&W Ball and Safety Chain Kit for Ford part # BWGNXA2061 that will fit into your truck's puck system and changing out your king pin on your fifth wheel to a gooseneck pin box. This would be a lot easier than trying to lift a heavy fifth wheel hitch in and out of your truck (they usually weight over 150lbs). Switching to a gooseneck pin box would also free up space in your truck bed for other cargo when towing.

The gooseneck pin box you'd need would depend on what your current pin box is to match the bolt pattern and how much your camper weighs. I do suggest using something like the Gen-Y Hitch Shock Absorbing 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box for Lippert Rhino part # GY45GR or the MORryde GooseTech 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box for 14K to 18K Trailers w/Lippert Rhino part # MR84MV. Both of these types of pin boxes have shock absorbing features to provide a smooth ride and are highly recommended by our customers.

If you aren't switching campers too often and you don't mind lifting the hitch in and out of your truck, you can use the B&W 5th Wheel Companion OEM for Ford Super Duty part # BWRVK3305 that's rated for 25K towing and will fit straight into your truck's factory puck system for when you're towing your fifth wheel. You would just remove the B&W Ball and Safety Chain Kit part # BWGNXA2061 and install the fifth wheel into the pucks instead.
