On a split-tank 5th wheel, propane from the remote cylinder has to travel across the trailer at the right pressure to supply the second-stage regulator. This single-stage regulator drops tank pressure to a fixed 30 psi for that high-pressure run.

Move Propane Across a Split-Cylinder 5th Wheel
On a 5th wheel with propane cylinders on opposite sides of the trailer, the remote cylinder has to supply propane across the RV before it reaches the second-stage regulator. This single-stage regulator reduces tank pressure to a fixed 30 psi for that high-pressure run, giving the second-stage regulator the supply it needs to reduce pressure again for your RV appliances.
