Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario. Technical Support

Nothing like a front hitch for launching ur boat or spotting trailers in ur garage. Was a perfect fit and easy instalation

Ansolutly what I needed, works great for putting my boat in and out of the water
William P - 07/12/2022

2008 Ford F-150

The front hitch receiver was a direct fit for my 2008 f150 lariat. Install took less than 25 minutes and you can install this in the lower position without needing to trim the plastic air damage. I opted to install in the raised position to gain the ground clearance and it seems to tuck up very nicely between the factory to hooks. A must for farm use!!

2005 Ford F-150

Used motorcycle jack to nudge it in position. Bolted right in, sits level, supports all my trailer mounts. Shipping was fast. Package was in decent shape with some protrusions. Receiver was not damaged. 2005 f150 4.2 5spd manual xlt

Great product!
Fit perfectly! Took longer
to install than expected because one handed install is not easy. So easy to move boats, camper, trailer in place, without any problems. A small camera above allows for a one person only job to hook up! Product looks like new after a year in mud, water, dirt...

2005 Ford F-150

Would like to just take a moment To thank etrailer for getting our draw tight front mount hitch and our swagman bike rack to us. It certainly solved our problem. For sometime we have wanted to take bikes camping with us and have not had a proper place to haul them. The camper has a molded bumper and I certainly didn't want to haul them in the camper. So my hat off to you on both products

First I want to think Ashley for all the professional service and product knowledge . The 65043 hitch rates a five star rating . The shipping was two days from Wentzville, Mo. to Smyrna Ga. and the Tracking service was just as great . Fee shipping ( Great ) .I would ask for one thing , on you instructions, maybe add a sheet with a larger, darker items . I will be glad to recommend my friends to etrailer .
[Thumbs up]

I purchased this about a year ago. Checkout and Shipping was quick and accurate. No issues at all with the product showing up in good condition with all the pieces. Was able to install by myself in about 10 minutes. I have traveled across country twice now with a double bike rack attached to this hitch. Nothing has shifted, moved, or loosened since the install and trust me i take my truck off road. Very Pleased.

2004 Ford F-150

Absolutely love this front hitch. I've had it for about a year now on my 2004 f150. Install was easy took about 30 minutes to install by myself using a hydraulic jack and basic hand tools. Great for backing in trailers to tight spots as well as hauling jetskis on the front.

2012 Ford F-150

The product works great. Installed by myself on my back in 10 min. perfect fit. Got the hitch for my 12,000 lb winch. 2006 F150 with a 3 inch leveling kit.

2005 Ford F-150

I am 61 years old and put this on in my driveway with just a jack to push hitch into place. After a hour and a half it was on. Had to jiggle it a round abit to get all bolts to lineup. Install back bolts first its easier to put front bolts in then. Video was helpful Hitch is made to fit and it did. Using it for front rod rack for surf fishing on beaches on NC Coast. Very satisfied.

2004 Ford F-150

Installing the receiver was the easiest i have ever done . took about 30 min . the only hard part was getting it on to the jack .LOL

2004 Ford F-150

After it sat on my garage floor for a year, I finally installed the front receiver hitch on my 2004 F150. Raised it up into position with a floor jack with no problem. However, I could NOT install the front spacer and bolt from the outside of the frame as the instructions and video indicate. The fog lamp assembly interfered and the bolt was too long to insert into the spacer. After much trial and error and viewing pix and the video, I ended up installing the spacer and inserting the front bolts from inside BETWEEN the frame rails and attaching the hex nuts on the OUTSIDE. The fit of the hitch otherwise was perfect. Looking at customer pix, all of the fog lamps are round or not there. I have rectangular fog lamps on my 2004. Unfortunately site would not allow upload of pix of the issue.

2008 Ford F-150

Excellent product very well made. I installed on the highest setting for maximum ground clearance on a 2008 F150 2wd with a 2 1/2 level kit on the front.

I received the hitch yesterday. The box had been taped up but the hitch was just fine. I installed it this morning. I used the floor jack to hold it in place and crawled underneath while my wife handed me the parts. Took about 30 minutes to get all the stuff together in about 30 minutes to install it.

Product looks good and fits well, easy to install. Was disappointed to see it was made in Mexico, but otherwise a great looking hitch. Easy to read instructions. Great shipping.

East to install. Great addition to my truck. I can control where I move the trailer much better from the front. As always, great support and documentation from Etrailer.

Very heavy duty front mount hitch receiver - I'm very happy! And James Y. was great to work with on the purchase!

I have a difficult spot to back my trailer into, next to the house and around a corner. With the front hitch, I can put it there on the first try and within an inch of the exact spot I shoot for. As an added bonus, I can take a small motorcycle along on the front of the truck while puling my camper. Perfect. PS--Wear safety glasses when working under an older vehicle or you will get rust and dirt in your eyes.

After a year of use, this thing is great. It is easier every time to park the trailer.
Dave F - 02/01/2021

The product (front hitch for 2005 Ford F150) is obviously high-quality and fit perfectly on the truck. However, the box arrived torn and battered, with a gaping 8 inch hole that had been taped over. Surprisingly, the hitch itself was OK.

Also, while the written instructions are adequate, the online video needs improvement. It is so dark you cannot see one of the holes he is pointing out in the frame. Additionally, he says to put the hitch in place and “install the hardware.” He does not clearly show you what hardware is in his hand (appears to be just a bolt) nor does he mention that the frame rail hole is twice as big as the bolt and that you have to put a collar/spacer on the bolt and ensure that it engages both frame rails. The written instructions do give this information, but neither the video or instructions explain how to tell if it is properly in place.

I like etrailer and have had good service from them and have received high quality products. I will continue to use them in the future.

Easier than expected to mount im high clearance position. Holds my DR200 well, didn’t go for a drive, but it is very secure and well engineered mounting hardware. Very impressed so far...

2006 Ford F-150

No mounting hardware. Cannot get a response from etrailer.

Sorry to hear this. Customer Service will reach out to you. Sometimes it takes 24-48 hours to respond to emails.

2007 Ford F-150

The tow bar is exactly what I ordered, BUT the packing was awful. There are 2 large holes with the ends of the hitch that attaches to the truck sticking out. The UPS driver suggested not accepting the package to my wife or letting me decide when I got home if we I should return the delivery tomorrow. Both ends has the paint scraped off but since that part bolts up under the truck I decided to keep it & just spray some paint on the bare metal. I have been very pleased over the years with your service & will remain a future customer.

Perfect fit for our 2007 F150. Allows for an incredibly easy experience when moving any trailer. Even my wife who previously never moved any type of trailer can can move around our 24 enclosed car hauler with ease. Thanks again for offering such a high-quality product!
James G - 09/13/2020

Order arrived, took
out of box and installed on truck. Easy and FAST installation. Took 20-30 min to install and it fit perfectly. 5star product.

I like way it fit right in, but had a mechanic install it while doing other work. I used it only a few times but it worked well when I did use it.

2008 Ford F-150

Excellent product perfect fit only 20 min from time of getting tool to installing on 2008 f150 supercrew Lariat will buy again

  • Front Mounted Hitch Distance From Hitch Pin Hole to Bumper on 2006 Ford F-150
When we test fit the Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch # 65043 on a 2006 Ford F-150 we did not take the measurement from the center of the hitch pin hole to the front of the bumper. However, I did add a photo for you which shows the hitch installed on a '06 F-150 and based on this and what Draw-Tite said, you can be confident that it is 2 inches from the hitch pin hole to the edge of the front bumper, and a bike rack that has 7-1/2 inches of clearance will not have any problems working...

You may be able to use the SnowSport HD Utility Plow, item # A40000HD, with a grille guard but I cannot be absolutely sure. • Front Mount Hitch Recommendation for a 2003 Ford Expedition
For a front mount hitch for your 2003 Ford Expedition you would want the Curt hitch part # 31352 and not the # 65043 that you referenced as the Curt has been designed to fit your vehicle and the # 65043 has not. I attached an install video that shows how the # 31352 will install.
