Video Transcript for What to Know About the Combo Bar 6" with 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver

Today we're going to review Part Number E-9. This is the Curt 6" combo bar with the 2" trailer hitch receiver. This does have a 2" x 2" trailer hitch receiver opening. You can see right there. This is a hitch fabrication part, it is designed to be welded on to your vehicle or trailer, and allow you to install a 2" ball mount into there. It does have an outer dimension; the outer dimension on it is 2 1/2", and the forged collar on the very opening area right here, the width on that would actually measure 3".

Total overall length from the very front to the very back is going to be right at 6". It is sized and punched to fit all common weight distribution hitch ball mounts, or utility ball mounts. Has a 5/8" diameter pin hole, and it is a raw finish. The reason they do that, it's better for welding, because there's less prep work involved. That should do it for the review on Part Number E-9. This is the Curt 6" combo bar with the 2" trailer hitch receiver. .

  • Is There A Front Hitch For A 2008 Toyota RAV4
Hello Jack. I was not able to find any manufacturers anywhere that make a custom fitted front hitch for the 2008 Toyota RAV4. The only option would be to use a universal weld-on hitch like part # E-9 and take it to a local fabrication shop to have them weld something up for you.

  • Availability Of Trailer Hitch For 2025 Kia K4
Hello Jay, thanks for reaching out. Sadly, there is no custom fit trailer hitch for the 2025 Kia K4. True, there is a hitch for the 2024 K5 but we this is a completely different fit, and we cannot advise modifying a hitch to fit. There is no guarantee it would even work, and your warranty would be voided so that is not recommended. There really are not a lot of custom fit parts available for the 2025 K4 yet since it is so new. We do expect more parts to become available down the line....

  • Is There a 1-1/4 inch Hitch Bike Rack Solution for Travel Trailer
Hey Jeffrey, the ride quality at the rear of a travel trailer is pretty rough. That is why it takes a bike rack that is reinforced more than a standard rack to be approved for that application. What that means though is the smaller hitch size racks just don't have a safe way to be used with an RV. Does your trailer have a 4 inch square bumper? Most do...if so, you could use the Swagman Traveler XC2 part # S64663 which comes with a bumper mounted hitch that bolts on. There won't be a...

  • Availability of Trailer Hitch for 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning
Hi Isaac; I'm sorry to say that nobody makes an aftermarket hitch for the 2024 F-150 Lightning. The same is true for older models so I don't think one will be released at this point. More than likely there are sensitive electric components in the way in the rear that make it too hard to install your typical hitch. The only solution I can offer is to take the # E-9 to a local fabricator and see if they can fashion a custom hitch for the truck.

  • Availability Of Trailer Hitch For 2006 BMW 325I
Hey Pablo, thanks for reaching out. If you take a look at the list below you will see the list of vehicles the Curt Multi-Fit Hitch # C11033 can be made to fit. As you can see there are no BMW models on this list so I cannot confirm fitment on your 2006 BMW 325I. You can try comparing the measurements below to your frame to check fitment. Sadly, there is no custom fit hitch made for the 2006 325I, so if you need a hitch your best option will be to take a universal 2" receiver like part...

  • Can Westin Grille Guard and Front Hitch Be Installed on a 2011 Ford Ranger
Hey Mike, thanks for reaching out! The Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver # C31063 will mount in the same location as the Westin Grille Guard on your 2011 Ford Ranger so they unfortunately can't be used together. What you might try doing is seeing if a shop would be willing to help you fabricate a front hitch for your Ranger by using something like the Combo Bar 6" with 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver # E-9 for an alternative solution.

  • Ark Off-Road Coupler Compatibility For Aliner Camping Trailer With 2" Ball Coupler
The Aliner trailers will come with a 2" ball coupler for connecting to your tow vehicle. The Ark Articulating Off-Road Coupler # AR44FR requires the trailer to use a 2" receiver tube connection. The coupler will slide into this 2" receiver similar to the way a ball mount slides into the receiver on you vehicle. You will need to have a Combo Bar 6" with 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver # E-9 welded and gusseted in place of the 2" ball coupler that will come on the Aliner. With that receiver...

  • Combo Bar Hitch Tube Recommendation for Installing Second Hitch Opening at Rear of RV
Sounds like you are wanting to install a second hitch opening on the cross tube of your Winnebago. We offer the combo bar part # E-9 for applications like this. You would have to weld on the hitch opening to your RV and you would have a second hitch tube. We don't have a bolt on application to fit a 2-1/2 by 2-1/2 inch cross tube. You would have to use a RV approved bike rack like what is listed at the attached link.

  • Solution for Mounting Winch in Enclosed Trailer for Pulling Vehicle In
You can mount a winch to a trailer to allow it to pull things up onto the trailer. This is pretty common for car haulers. You could purchase a Hitch Receiver tube and have it welded to the the trailer frame or crossmember near the front like part # E-9. With a piece like this welded to the frame, you could use the Winch Plate # BDW20011 mount to attach your winch. You'll need to pull up a portion of the floor to access where you'll attach it. Maybe locate the anchor point from underneath...

  • What do I Need to Tow My 2021 Nucamp TAB 320S with My 2021 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon?
From the sound of your question, it sounds like you are trying to figure out what you need in order to attach your 2021 Nucamp TAB 320S to your 2021 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon with an off-road coupler. From my research, I discovered that your camper has a gross trailer weight of 2,900 pounds. As long as you have enough gross towing weight capacity on your hitch like the 4,500 pounds of the Draw-Tite Hitch - 2" # DT78MR on your Jeep, you will be safe to tow. For the coupler itself,...

  • Winch Recommendation for Pulling Racecar Up Into Trailer
The LT3000 winch, # SW1130220, is a good choice for pulling a 2,350 pound vehicle onto your trailer. With a rolling load (your vehicle) on a 17 degree slope (typical range for a trailer ramp) the winch will have a 7,825 pound rolling load capacity. For trailer mounting these winches are mounted directly to the trailer frame with bolts that go through the mounting plate provided on the winch. If you would like the winch to be removable you could mount it to the SuperWinch Hitch Mounted...

  • 4-Bike Rack for Use on Deck of 4 x 6 Utility Trailer
You do have a unique bike transport requirement and I see why you came to etrailer! You are correct that bike carriers for use on utility trailers are rare animals. Truck bed racks like the 4-bike Topline # UG2500-4 might be usable - the bike wheels stay on - if you have or can create a place to secure the mounting clamp. Since it sounds like you are capable of some fabrication I do have a suggestion that is a little outside the box but that gives you the flexibility to choose a trailer-rated...

  • Recommended Articulating Coupler for Off-Road Adventure Trailer
It sounds like you're looking for an articulating coupler. For the trailer side of the equation, use # 336TS504 for an A-frame coupler. For an adjustable channel tongue use # 336TS502. If you need a 2 inch channel tongue go with part # 336TS528, # 336TS506 for a 2-1/2 inch channel tongue, or # 336TS508 for a 3 inch channel. For the vehicle side, there are several different drops available. For a zero rise/drop, use # 336VS501. For up to a 4-1/4 inch rise or drop, use # 336VS503505 or...

  • What Vehicles Will The Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver C31077 Fit?
Hello Percy, thanks for getting in touch. The Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver # C31077 will not fit the 2021 Nissan Titan 4x4, because the manufacturers fitment guide specifies that it won't. I know this is not the most helpful answer ever, but according to Curt, the # C31077 hitch will only fit the following vehicles: 2016 - 2021 Nissan NV 1500 2016 - 2021 Nissan NV 2500 2016 - 2021 Nissan NV 3500 2016 - 2021 Nissan Titan XD At this time there is no custom fit front hitch for...

  • Brainstorming Sidewind Trailer Jack for 2 Inch Receivers On Cargo Trailer Corners For Stabilization
Interesting. We don't have that specifically, but there are a couple of routes you could go. Most trailers will use the Scissor Stabilizer Jack - 18-3/4" Travel - 2,500 lbs - Qty 1 # TJSC-24 for stability in the corners so you could mount a receiver shank to that and use # TJSC-24-HD as a sidewind crank. It sounds like you were picturing more of a trailer tongue style option, so you could use a jack like the etrailer Square Jack w/ Footplate - Drop Leg - Bolt On - Zinc - Sidewind - 29-1/8"...

  • Where to Mount Winch To Pull Vehicles Up Onto Car Hauler
Since hitch adapters like what you mentioned end up cutting the capacity of the hitch they are installed in by half the best solution is to mount the winch to the trailer so that you can avoid all of that. You could purchase a Hitch Receiver tube and have it welded to the trailer frame like part # E-9. With a piece like this welded to the frame, you could use the Winch Plate # BDW20011 mount to attach your winch. Then you could use the winch part # 1120210 to pull things up onto your trailer.

The Combo Bar 6 inch with 2 inch Trailer Hitch Receiver, item # E-9 is designed as a fabrication part to build your own receiver hitch. Welding, by an experienced Welder is recommended for this part. • Utility Trailer Winch Mounting Options
You would not be able to mount a winch to a wood bed if you are going to put any kind of load on it. You would need to get the winch mounted to the steel frame somehow. To do this you can use U bolts to attach through the wood bed to the trailer frame, if there is steel frame below the bed. Otherwise, you will want to fabricate a mounting location for your trailer. Since you were looking at the Bulldog Trailer Hitch Winch Plate, part # BDW20011, you could purchase a Hitch Receiver tube...
