Hello, neighbors. Steven here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look together at a Gen-Y weld-on 2 1/2 inch hitch receiver tube in steel. Now folks, these tubes are gonna be great for fabricating maybe a custom hitch whenever you have a spot where a receiver tube isn't already available. Now, it is a weld-on durable steel construction. It's raw steel, meaning it has not been painted, powder coat primed, or anything.
It's gonna have a little bit of a light oil and powder on it, like most steel that's raw comes. That just protects it from rusting and stuff until you get a paint finish on it. So as you can see, it's nice and shiny here where they had the cuts and they sanded down. So again, I recommend you clean it before you paint it or powder coat it. But getting into it again, a 2 1/2 by 2 1/2 inch tube on the inside there.
And the collar here is a 7/8 inch thick collar. Overall, I got 5 1/2 inches long for the total thing. The pinhole diameter here is a 5/8 inch pinhole. So again, make sure you're getting a hitch pin or lockable hitch pin, one that's long enough for a 2 1/2 inch shank, and that's at 5/8 inch thickness. Now, from the center of the hole to the end of the collared part, I got right at 2 1/2 inches.
And then, from the center of the hole out to this edge, I got right at 3 inches. So overall, 5 1/2 inches. You do the math, 3 on the back, 2 1/2 on the front. So folks, that's gonna wrap it up. Just a nice quick look at our heavy-duty, steel Gen-Y weld-on 2 1/2 inch receiver tube.
I'm Steven. Thanks for watching.
