Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at the Gen Y weld on receiver tube. Now this receiver tube allows you to fabricate your own receiver hitch. The opening, right here, is designed for two inch hitch accessories, so that opening measures two inches by two inches. And that features a reinforced 3/4 inch steel collar for added strength and durability.A few measurements I just want to take for you here. I want to go outer edge to outer edge, that's a square design, so whatever we get side to side will be the same up and down. So, edge to edge, this direction, you can see there's about three inches.
And then inside edge to inside edge is about two inches. Now, we're looking at a raw steel construction, so it's ready for welding.Product is made in the USA, and it has a capacity of 16,000 pounds. So that's the rated capacity for this unit. Now, please keep in mind that your capacity depends a lot on how it's installed, and what it's installed on, or what it's attached to. But this unit, itself, does feature a 16,000 pound rated capacity.
Then, when it comes to the overall length, measuring edge to edge, you can see here, that that measures about 12 inches long.The pin hole right here, will accept a standard 5/8 inch diameter hitch pin or hitch lock. That item is not included. Again, overall length about 12 inches. Now, I took a measurement from the center of the hitch pin hole to the front of the unit, and that was 2-1/2 inches. From the center of the hitch pin hole to the very back of the unit, was 9-1/2 inches.
That's going to do it for today's look at the Gen Y weld on receiver tube.

End of tube that shows was heavily ground down and not square, but still usable after I ran it through my own belt sander

Well made product. As a metalworker, I especially appreciate the fact the tube seam is not haphazard. Thoughtfully placed top or bottom. Holes for the pin are de-burred. The front is a wee sharp, but crisp. I filled in the extra bit of seam leftover so I have a nice clean part for my job.
Ordered a few weld on trailer hitch receiver tubes among other trailer parts. Parts were delivered in a timely manner and the quality of the receiver tubes is excellent. I will buy from this group in the future when I need trailer parts.
Very heavy strong parts. A few sharp burs on inside of receiver tube opening needed to be removed. Ball holder and ball both arrived in good shape. Shipping was very fast and free. etrailer came through again with good parts and service.
Should work just fine for my custom bum per.
