Hi Roger; technically yes, you can install a trailer hitch on your 2025 Mazda Miata. However, you will need to check your owner's manual/local dealer to see what the vehicle is capable of (tongue weight capacity/towing capacity). I'm guessing you want to use it for a bike rack so I would just ask them if you added a hitch for a bike rack how much weight could it hold.

Based on the 2024 model I would say none of the major manufacturers are going to make one. The only option will be to take the # E-9 to a local fabricator and have a custom hitch fashioned to fit your vehicle.

Hey Roger, were you able to check with your dealer about the towing or tongue weight limits for your Miata? Knowing what they said could really help others thinking about adding a hitch for a bike rack too.

@RobinH The Miata was certainly my first choice for the car purchase however every angle I tried their technical department consistently reminded me the car is not strong and heavy enough to support even one bicycle so I bought a Subaru BRZ. I bought the bumper hitch that replaces the bumper with a bumper that has a 2-in hitch built into it and it works amazing the perfect setup so now I have a sports car with a trailer hitch haha for my off-road mountain bike... Later I can always trailer my race car tires to a race car track if I ever move off of Maui haha but I've got some Nifty race car tracks here just by racing up to the Volcano Summit
