Quickly and easily install a 4-way and 7-way trailer connector on your vehicle with this custom harness. T-connector plugs directly into OEM tow package wiring harness - no cutting or splicing required.
Features:
This custom-fit T-connector plugs into your vehicle's factory tow package wiring harness, which is located at the rear of your vehicle, slightly toward the driver's side.
Once installation is complete, the connectors will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket is included to keep the connectors secure.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 7-pole and 4-pole connectors - to help prevent corrosion.

After investigating weights and amenities of a plethora of rental RVs, it occurred to me that we would need a 7-pin wiring connector instead of the 4-pin connector that the Nissan dealership installed on our 2019 Frontier. I concluded that the jumper harness under the passenger side kick plate was already in place – and that any 7-pin harness would use the same jumper. A scan of sites listed by Google made it abundantly unclear how to proceed. Multiple websites offered a 7-pin harness – but no 4-pin option. YouTube videos showed how to install a harness and a jumper – the one we assumed was already in place. The eTrailer website offered an optimum, combined, 4-pin and 7-pin harness specifically configured for a Frontier and numerous, satisfied Frontier owners confirmed the eTrailer harness operability. All I needed then was to confirm the process of disengaging the existing 4-pin harness and removing the cover to the dissimilar 7-pin harness; I was unsuccessful the three times I had tried. One website, that showed how simple the installation process was, yet cleverly skipped those two procedures. So, I called the Nissan service department and was told one of two mechanics would call me back; they did not. A second call went to the parts department voice mail -- with no return call. As a last resort, I visited the same Nissan dealership and after discussions with two customer service agents and the parts man, I was taken to a mechanic in one of the shop bays for expert advice. Oddly, he was not aware of any dual harness for a Frontier newer than 2022. Since I knew otherwise, I simply asked for a demonstration on how to manage the harness connectors. From a drawer full of Nissan cables, he pulled out a harness and demonstrated where to push with a short screwdriver. Easy! After deftly reproducing the tasks at home, I promptly ordered a cable from eTrailer. The package arrived last evening and an examination of the contents suggested that the process would be as simple as YouTube videos indicated. My installation took about 45 minutes – much of which was going back and forth to the workshop to get different items. The included, bracket-mounting bolts were longer than necessary so I sought shorter ones. A short flathead screwdriver was insufficient; an offset screwdriver was also necessary to tighten bracket bolts properly. The box wrench to mount the bracket was not the same size required to connect the harness to the bracket. The flashlight bulb blew halfway through the installation; my coffee mug spilled; I lost a lock washer in my shirt while on my back and then to cap it all off, I had to disconnect and reconnect the harness after taking pictures because I had neglected to apply the terminal grease. The installation was very straightforward and there was no excess cable to hide or wrap in the undercarriage. No bundle ties required. Perfect. Unfortunately, I cannot test the 7-pin harness at home. Well, I could with my multimeter – but there is no one else home to pump the brakes.
Thank you, eTrailer, for a great product.
Something just shorted out after 9 mos and fried the wiring in the truck too. It’s in the shop being diagnosed. Hundreds of dollars. Don’t know if it’s this harness or something else. But it’s a pain. Ordered another one so we can diagnose it.
This harness was more than I had expected. The bracket lined up perfectly with the existing holes on bottom of bumper and the installation and testing literally took minutes. So far I’m very happy with this product, especially the fact that no adapter is needed for the 4 pin connection.
It was an easy install, has held up to abuse, and has come in handy switching between my utility trailer with a 4 pin connector and my camper with a 7 pin connector!
Easy installation, great quality. The wire was a little short for my application
It was harder to take out the old wiring than it was to put in the whole new plug and hanger. After I finished the test was perfect for both the 4 and 7 pin plugs. Thanks trailer!
Product work as stated. I had a slight problem with mounting bracket, holes did not line up with factory bracket. But it was resolved by mounting the supplied bracket over the factory bracket.
I am ecstatic because it actually works. When my truck was new, the Nissan dealer referred me to [online] for a trailer hitch and wiring. Bad move. They and I never knew that there were sockets right under the bed just waiting for a seven way "plug and play" device. What they installed was a dysfunctional mess anyway. After that I have gone through the same nightmare with other "service providers". When the last one failed I got this product from etrailer, disconnected a spider's web of stupid makeshift wiring and simply plugged it in. I should not be admitting I was so gullible. Once again etrailer saved me from myself, with a simple installation by myself.
Recently went into business for myself. My old plug on my 2014 Nissan Frontier was not holding up. I messed it up during the install. Needing to pull a trailer I began searching for a plug that would work. I wanted something that was plug and play and allowed either a 7 way or 4 flat connector. During my search i came across the Hopkins Plug-in. It is designed to be mounted underneath the truck with the provided bracket. I emailed etrailer.com. I got a response back almost immediately from George. I told him what my plans were for the connector. He said that it should work as the connector didn’t need the bracket to be mounted. Since I already had a hole drilled to 2 1/4”, I prepared myself to notch my bumper a little in order for it to fit. What a pleasant surprise, this connector fit right through my previous hole. I did have to drill 4 additional holes 11/32” to mount it. I used paint primer to cover those holes up before permanently installing the connector. It truthfully is plug and play. I have attached pictures of what it n ow looks like. I highly recommend this product and company.
My 2016 Nissan Frontier had to be towed out of a swampy mess after being run off the road with someone texting or drunk. Anyway when being towed out the factory trailer wiring connection was damaged.
I have to give this company and the product 5 stars plus due to the ease of finding the correct replacement. It was received in 3 days and matched the original wiring connections with nothing more than removal and replacement. I did have to drill some mounting holes on the original mounting plate which took a few minutes tops. It not only is a perfect replacement but a huge improvement with both types of connectors.
Thanks
pluged wire socket in. mounted trailer end' ssolved my problem. can not ask for anything better.
Well made, fits my truck perfectly and the interaction with etrailer personnel was very professional and easy.
I ordered this unit for my 2014 Nissan Frontier. I like the fact that both options for trailer electrical connections are built in on the product. It didn't fit the bracket for my old connector as I expected it to and my OEM bracket is welded to the frame, not bolted, so the mounting bracket sent with the unit wasn't useful. I drilled a couple of holes in the existing bracket to accommodate the new connector and it's working fine.
Just received, haven't hooked up yet but seems to be good quality + the staff was very helpful with my question s.
Left brake light does not work. The assembly screws are low quality.
Easy to install and comes with all the mounting hardware were other products I had ordered did not. Order was received in timely manner and well packaged.
Looks good insulation was a breeze
Fit perfectly and did away with the need for all of the extra adapters for the different trailers I use.
Great product, easy install
placed order, received timely and installed in about an hour. VERY HAPPY!
Product arrived just on time for me to install on my truck which didn't have a trailer hitch receiver. I was in desperate need of one since was planning on using it for a new driver for deliveries for the weekend. It was easy to install on my own with 2 jack stands to hold it in place under my frame. It was also easy to install the wires with the built on addon on the receiver so i would avoid to drill my truck. Definelty helped alot
Fits easily. Connections were all good amd fitted to the OEM connectors easy. Bracket material is a bit thin
Good Price and communication. Shipped q uickly
an improvement over the Nissan OEM
Everything came packaged just as described. I bit funky to install the nuts and washers due to a lack of access in the factory bumper, but all in all it got mounted and works perfectly.
