Quick and Convenient Trailer Setup: Electric Operation with Dual Toggle Switches

The dedicated switches conveniently manage the LED light and the extend/retract function, meaning you can set up camp without breaking a sweat, even as dusk falls.

Consistent Performance, Rain or Shine: Durable Steel Construction with Rust-Resistant Coating

Heading out on a rainy weekend or through muddy trails is no match for the jack's sturdy, powder-coated steel build. This robust construction not only guarantees long-lasting durability but also stands up to the elements, offering reliable performance and resisting rust and corrosion. Now, you can focus on enjoying your adventure regardless of the weather.

Smooth Operation, Every Use: Helical-Cut Gears

Hassle-Free Installation: Easy Bolt-On Setup

Setting up the Lippert jack is a cinch with its bolt-on design. Simply wire it to a 12-volt power source, and you're good to go, saving time and effort for more important things—like planning your next great escape. Plus, the included emergency crank offers peace of mind in case of power loss.

  • Can the Lippert Electric Trailer Jack with Footplate Be Rotated
Yes, you can rotate the Lippert Electric Trailer Jack with Footplate part # LC285318 in one of three ways so that the controls face forward, back to the right, or back to the left. Just remove the nuts/bolts, rotates, then reinstall once you get the jack in the correct orientation for your setup.

  • Troubleshooting LED Light on Lippert Power Tongue Jack LC285318
I have to agree with you that it sounds like something is wrong with your Lippert powered tongue jack since the courtesy light should go off completely when the switch is in the off position. I suspect that there is trapped water inside the switch that is both maintaining a connection even when the switch is off and also preventing full power from reaching the light when it is switched on. You can try removing the cover/switch panel to allow that moisture to dissipate. This will best...

  • Troubleshooting the Lippert Electric Trailer Jack Part # LC285318
There is only one wire that needs to be connected on the Lippert Electric Trailer Jack part # LC285318. This is the red 12 volt power wire that will need to be ran to the positive terminal on the battery. I cannot be sure as to how the junction box you have is ran but I recommend removing that from the equation and attaching it directly to the battery to see if it powers on. If it does then there many be a short in the wiring to your junction box. If it doesn't then this could either mean...

  • Troubleshooting Lippert Power Tongue Jack that Wants to Stop After 10 Seconds of Operation
I forwarded this to my contact at Lippert and this is what he responded with: Customer has a low battery. Voltage in the battery standing alone unplugged from shore power needs to be 12.75 volts or higher. When he runs the system unplugged from shore power it is dipping below 12 volts and shutting down the controller or popping the OEM re settable breaker.

  • Can the Lippert Tongue Jack Head Be Rotated and Realigned

  • Troubleshooting Electric Trailer Jack That Wont Work When Plugged Into Vehicle Trailer Connector
I'd recommend using a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to test the pin in the 1:00 position on your 7-way trailer connector. This pin provides the 12-volt power to the trailer. If this circuit isn't active, how you'll proceed will depend on the vehicle make and model. If the vehicle has the factory tow package, there's likely a fuse in the panel in the engine compartment that's blown or missing. Using a trailer mounted battery is the preferred method of power a trailer jack. Because...

  • Do Powered Jacks Only Need One Wire Ran to Them
Most trailer jacks like the Lippert # LC285318 only use one wire. That wire provides the power and the assembly grounds through the mounting hardware of the jack. It's hard to tell what's going on with the electric tape and splice connector I see on your current setup but new jacks would only need one wire.

  • How to Install the Replacement Bottom Jack Cover for the Lippert Electric Tongue Jack 285318
Hey John, thanks for reaching out! To replace the Bottom Jack Cover # LC23UD on your Lippert Electric Tongue Jack # LC285318, you'll need to remove the 4 bolts that hold the top to it, then remove the 2 screws that hold the motor to the vertical tube. You'll also need to disconnect the wiring to the switches, motor, and light, so I recommend taking a few pictures with your phone and/or making a schematic of your own to make it easier when you go to replace everything. Once all of that...

  • Tailgate Clearance With Lippert Electric Trailer Jack
I have a solution for your clearance issue, but the Lippert Jack # LC285318 cannot be rotated. You can get a bit more clearance by using a longer ball mount like this extra long ball mount # D-26. It measures 12-5/8 inches from the hitch pin hole to the ball hole. This will give you more clearance. You could always rotate the whole jack, but you will have to drill some holes and may need to use different hardware depending on your trailer. Obviously you will have the switch and light facing...

If you have the Lippert Electric Trailer Jack with Footplate # LC285318 installed on your 2017 Grand Design Imagine you will want to start off by checking the wiring. A lot of times a short in the wiring can cause weird things to happen with electronics. Check to make sure the ground is secure and installed on a clean, bare metal surface. No, the Drop Leg for Lippert Power Jack # LC405217 is designed to fit the Lippert Electric Trailer Jack with Footplate # LC285318, and does not work with your Lippert Ground Control 3.0. The drop leg may physically fit, however there is a notch cut into the tube # LC405217 that is not compatible with your leveling system. • Troubleshooting Lippert Electric Jack That Will Not Extend
There are a few possible reasons as to why you can't get your Lippert Electric Jack # LC285318 (this is essentially the current version of your 181794) to extend. While possible, I doubt the leg as simply been jammed due to a lack of lubrication. You can test this pretty easily by using the emergency crank to see if you can extend the jack manually. If the leg operates fine when doing this then it likely isn't an internal gear issue. Since extending the jack takes more effort/power...

I checked and found the manual for the Lippert Electric Trailer Jack # LC285318 and there was no mention of anything going in the hole beforehand to tighten them. I added a cut out of the manual for you which shows the parts for this jack, and it does not go over the screws. You should be fine adding your own screw, though be careful doing it so as not to damage any part of the jack.

  • Replacement 3500-lb Electric Tongue Jack for Lippert 1817941
Lippert does not offer a replacement inner jack tube for their jack 1817941. When a jack is damaged in this way (which is more common than you want to know) it really is best to replace the entire jack for safety reasons. The outer tube on your jack may indeed appear to be perfect but could have hidden damage/stress. The equivalent current replacement jack for yours is part # LC285318.

  • How to Wire the Lippert Electric A-Frame Tongue Jack, # LC285318, to a Trailer Battery
The red power wire on the Electric A-Frame Tongue Jack, # LC285318, is the power wire and it will attach to the positive battery terminal on your trailer battery. First, remove the fuse in the in-line fuse holder on the red wire. Mount the jack to the trailer and tighten it down. The jack grounds through the mounting hardware. Then connect the red wire to the positive battery terminal. The last step is to insert the fuse in the fuse holder.
