Question:
Can the power head motor part be rotated 90 degrees from the base tube to get more tailgate clearance. I have seen that some other brands can be rotated. I bought a used RV trailer and it already has this unit on it. Thank You!

I have a solution for your clearance issue, but the Lippert Jack # LC285318 cannot be rotated. You can get a bit more clearance by using a longer ball mount like this extra long ball mount # D-26. It measures 12-5/8 inches from the hitch pin hole to the ball hole. This will give you more clearance. You could always rotate the whole jack, but you will have to drill some holes and may need to use different hardware depending on your trailer. Obviously you will have the switch and light facing the wrong direction, but if this solves your problem it's not that big of a deal if it doesn't bother you.
I've included a link to a list of long shanked ball mounts if you needed something a little different.

I just bought a brand new Lippert tongue jack as of July 21, 2025. Lippert now made it so where it can be turned 90 degrees. Pre-tapped holes are already there & done to be rotated. Nothing for the consumer to do. Awesome!
