Can the Lippert Tongue Jack Head Be Rotated and Realigned
Updated 04/22/2024 | Published 08/29/2015 >
Question:
I installed the Lippert Components tongue jack, PN 1817941, but the tailgate door of my Tahoe hits the motor head assembly preventing the tailgatre door to fully open. Is it possible to realign and rotate the head assembly 90 degrees?

I spoke with my contact at Lippert and he confirmed that the Lippert Components Power Tongue Jack 1817941 # LC285318 can be rotated to be best orientated for you. The jack can be un-bolted, rotated, and reinstalled.

In some cases you maybe able to rotate but in most cases you may not. Issue here is base plate design, it may not sit square to the frame once you turn. Already talked to Lippert on this issue and they have no answer except if I can cut the tailgate which was funny.

Do you mean: 1)unbolt the plate from the tongue, turn it and rebolt plate to tongue (3 exposed bolts) or 2) unbolt the power head, turn it and rebolt it (two bolts exposed by removing plugs on either side of tube)? If the latter, do 90 degree aligned holes exist which must be tapped? I am asking about newest model available, in 2020.
