The hooks didn't fit our car's frame very well. They seemed to work fine, but I did worry that they might pull out the weatherstripping. (see main review for bag)

We actually just used it again over this weekend! It worked outperfectly again, just like last year. We strapped through the car forthe back strap, instead of using the hooks, which seemed to work fine. But we couldnt do that in the front because our car is too small andthe strap would be in the way, so we still needed the hooks. We have only used the bag twice so far but were definitely happy withit!

by:

Worked beautifully. Had one on daughters Toyota RAV4 and one on the trunk of my Honda Accord and hauled her possessions back from Rexburg ID to Colonial Heights VA over 3 days and two flat tires. They held thru wind rain, fog and heat. No content damage. I did a few extra tie-down straps for interstate speed driving security for my own peace of mind. You have an excellent product.

by:

These clips are exactly what I needed and I am very pleased that they are of high quality and look to be extremely strong. This will give me peace of mind when I install my cargo box on my car.The powder coating on the clips makes them easy to handle and they should hold up in the rain very well. Thank you.

by:

I have been looking for these hooks for some time now. I will be using them for auto gutter hooks for roof racks with the suction cup and strap kit. The racks I am building will be used to transport my fishing poles (1998 Chrysler) Thanks for your product and prompt shipping.

My roof top bag is not a Rightline brand but it has similar straps. It's s generic roof top cargo bag from Walmart. These clips are universal and fit my straps perfectly.

by:

This bag was great. I filled it to capacity and strapped it to the top of my SUV for a trip from NY to NC. It held up great. It even rained along the way. But when I got to my destination, everything was dry and well kept. I would recommend this product again.

by:

Exactly as described. Maybe even better quality than I was expecting. Shipped and received promptly. Great followup by etrailer.

by:

GREAT QUALITY hardware. Strong, with nice heavy rubber-type coating. I wish I had ordered 4 more. Shipped quickly, with notifications from etrailer on order status.

by:

Works exactly as described. I highly recommend buying from etrailer.com.

by:

I bought these to replace the clamps on my roof bars. The experience I had with the roof bag last year that used these same clamps convinced me that these would work with my racks. This gives me backups also. I reduced by 1 star because I think the price was at least 20% too high.

The clips have worked out very well. As expected.

by:

was told these clips would work with out a roof rack, they do not. was a waste of money,

by:

The product is solidly built but I would not say these are universal. At this point I think I can make them work with our Nisan Versa but not positive and certainly not simply.

by:

We received our products quickly and they were exactly what we expected, great service , great quality of products..thanks

This is my go to place for everything t railering

  • What are the Differences Between Roof Bag on Naked Roof and Roof Rack Mounted Bag?
Apart from how the rooftop bags mount there is little difference between the cargo bags that go on the naked roof of your 2013 Kia Soul or one that attaches to a roof rack. To avoid having to put a pricey roof rack on your Soul, I strongly recommend going with a bag that mounts to your naked roof such as the Rightline Gear Sport 2 Rooftop Cargo Bag # RL100S20. This bag is waterproof, has 15 cubic feet of storage and is 44" long x 36" wide x 19" tall. You can mount the Rightline by running...

  • Hooks for Straps on Older Sears X-Cargo Rooftop Carrier
The best option which may work for replacing the hooks on your older Sears X-Cargo rooftop car carrier are the Replacement Car Clips for Rightline Gear Rooftop Cargo Bags # RL100600 (Quantity of 4) or # RL100605 (Quantity of 2). These are rubber-coated steel and do not have the lip like the hooks in your photo; these are by far the best option for you.

  • Recommendations To Be Able To Carry Cargo On 2014 Nissan Pathfinder With Naked Roof
We do not have a roof rack available for the 2014 Nissan Pathfinder with no factory side rails. I checked with Yakima and Thule and Rhino Rack and there is no roof rack compatible with the roof. If you are interested in carrying bikes or cargo let me know and I can make some recommendations that will work for you.

  • Hooks to Mount Old X-Cargo Rooftop Carrier with Straps to Roof
I may have a solution for you but we don't carry the hooks to connect the old X-Cargo boxes that used the straps. Like you mentioned we have the straps, part # SR02918, which are 1 inch wide. We also have some clips for RightLine Gear cargo bags, part # RL100600, that have an opening to receive a 1 inch strap. They're designed to clip around the edges of the doors like the hooks for the X-Cargo box did, even though they aren't the exact ones. I contacted Thule about the original hooksfor...

  • Ways to Mount a Sears X-Cargo Cargo Box Directly to the Roof of a Vehicle
The Sears X-Cargo Cargo Box has been discontinued for awhile and replacement parts are no longer available. The Replacement Mounting Strap part # SR02918 is designed to run through the doors along the inside roof of the vehicle. If you would like to avoid running the straps along the roofline inside the doors then you can use a set of car clips like part # RL100600. Neither of these products are designed to be used with the X-Cargo Cargo Box therefore some ingenuity will be required.

  • Carrying Cargo on a Hitch Mount Carrier and Roof Carrier on a 2014 Honda CR-V
Technically, the sky's the limit when putting things on a trailer hitch mounted cargo carrier as long as you are within the capacity of the carrier and vehicle. But realistically I do not recommend stacking cargo so high that it blocks your view through the rear window on your 2015 Honda CR-V. Also you would need to stay within the capacity of the hitch and vehicle. Check the owners manual for your CR-V because I am fairly certain that the tongue weight capacity is only 150 pounds despite...

  • How to Use the Rightline Sport 2 Rooftop Cargo Bag # RL100S20 with a Van With Sliding Doors
Sounds like your Dodge Grand Caravan has sliding rear doors, what you would want to use with the part # RL100S20 that you referenced is the Car Clips part # RL100600 so that the strap doesn't have to pass through the door and interior of your vehicle. These clips will clip onto the door ledges so that the strap won't interfere with your sliding door closing.

  • Roof Mount Cargo Bag for a 2013 Toyota Prius with No Roof Rack
For your 2013 Toyota Prius I actually recommend Rightline Ace cargo bag # RL100A20. It is larger but costs less than bag # RL100S50 that you asked about. When properly installed the bag will work well on your long trip from Illinois to New Jersey. The bag can be used on a naked roof but to do so you have to run the attachment straps through the interior of the vehicle. This can diminish head room and also the straps can sometimes act like a wick and let water soak the straps on the inside...

  • Roof Rack And Cargo Carrier For 2008 Buick Lucerne
For your 2008 Buick Lucerne, there are a couple of options you can consider. You can opt for a roof rack that would be versatile enough to handle a variety of carriers, or you can choose to use a cargo bag like part # RL100A20 that will actually sit on the roof of the vehicle. If you choose this option, I recommend a protection pad like part # RL100650. This would provide a barrier between your vehicle roof and the cargo bag and prevent scratches and abrasions. If you decide on a cargo...

All of the roof racks available for the 2009 Chevy HHR are for models that have factory installed rails that run front to back, so they will not work on your model with the naked roof. In order to carry cargo on your roof you would need to use a cargo bag such as # RL100S30. This bag will attach to a vehicle with or without any type of roof rack. The Replacement Mounting Strap part # SR02918 should allow you to mount the Sears Cargo Box to the roof of your 2018 Nissan Murano. The straps are 1" wide x 40-3/4" long and will run through the doors along the inside roof of the vehicle. If you would like to secure the straps to the jambs which eliminates running them through the inside roof then you can add the Car Clips part # RL100600. • How Would the Rightline Ace Rooftop Cargo Bag Install on a 2014 Jeep Wrangler Sport with Naked Roof
On any cargo bag that fits a naked roof, such as the Rightline Ace, # RL100A20, you would have to run all of the straps through the one set of doors on your 2014 Jeep Wrangler Sport. There is no other way that you could attach it to the vehicle roof. Although you may be able to use the car clips, # RL100600, and secure the straps to rain gutters (if applicable on your Jeep model). The only other option is to install a roof rack. In 2003 they dropped the Xpeditor and added the XC70 and XC90. Remember that build date is almost always 1 year before the model year of the vehicle. For installing the Rightline Gear Roof Cargo Carrier # RL100S20 that you referenced on your 2010 Toyota Prius I do have a couple suggestions. First, I would recommend the Car Clips for Rightline Rooftop Cargo Bags # RL100600. These attach to the straps of the bag and then attach to the roof of the vehicle, this doesn't require you to run straps inside your vehicle.
