Question:
I am looking at ways to haul a 14 1/2 ft canoe in a crew cab f150 with a 5 1/2 ft bed. Would a canoe be stable enough with this bed extender? If my kath is right, there would still be 5 ft of canoe past the extender.

The Yakima LongArm Truck Bed Load Extender # Y01149 is a great solution for hauling a longer kayak with your 2019 Ford F-150 5-1/2' bed. When in the fully-extended position the LongArm sits out 48" from the center of your hitch pin hole which means you should have roughly 5' of canoe sitting past that. You can use the Crossbar Pad # Y07417 and some Straps # Y05006 to secure your kayak to the extender.
If you'd feel more comfortable with something a little longer then you can use the Malone Axis # MPG907 which sits out 53" from the center of the hitch pin hole to the furthest edge of the carrier.
