Best 2018 Jeep Renegade Trailer Hitches

Fantastic trailer hitch. Fit is perfect. I would note two things - first, if you can get access to a lift, do it. If you need to drill, this will be a tremendous help. Second, get help installing this. This would've been a massive PITA had there not been multiple hands working on this. 40 minutes if you've installed this before maybe, took us at a shop about 1 1/2 hours when all was said and done. But once installed, looks great and works perfect.

Great quality, was not difficult to install. My jeep renegade has a 1.5" lift and it still fits just fine, very close but still works, the exhaust is about 1/2" away from hitting the hitch due to the spacers needed for the lift. So far no noises from contact or anything.

I purchased the Curt C13269 Hitch for my 2018 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk. The build quality of this hitch is great. It is massive. Welds are very good. Fitment on my Trailhawk is much easier than a non-Trailhawk Renegade due to the Trailhawk has all the threaded mounting points and mounting bolts installed, so you don't even need to open the hardware package that comes with the hitch. I did the installation by myself by using a floor jack to lift up back end then used jack stands. I used the floor jack to get the hitch in place and also used paracord on each side of the hitch to get it into position to get bolts started. My only complaint is the condition that the hitch arrived in. The box was pretty much in pieces and the hitch had lots of scratches, and gouges in the paint/powder coating. I would suggest to etrailer to box them better. It is obvious the damage was due to shipping and not manufacturing. For me that really was not a big issue because I had already planned to coat the entire hitch with Rustoleum Pro Undercoating spray - which works very well for preventing rust. After the installation was complete I sprayed all mounting areas and mounting bolts with the undercoating spray to help keep rust from starting. So - all in all, the hitch is excellent, etrailer service was very good, and I'm very happy with the product.

CURT C-13269 HITCH RECEIVER ONTO A 2018 RENEGADE "TRAILHAWK" First, about etrailer.com. This is the 5th curt receiver I have purchased from them and installed. They all were shipped very promptly, and arrived in excellent condition. Great people to work with! The videos you can access from their website are very informative, BUT- both the video and the instructions were somewhat out-of-date for my 2018 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk! It turns out even easier than the instructions show! All the Curt products have been very easy to install, they arrive with good instructions, and a complete bolt & hardware kit. I was very impressed with the “Threaded Fish Wires” they include. They greatly simplify the job. Getting down to the install. First, the entire bag of hardware can be set aside, fish wires, bolts & nuts, and reinforcing/ lock plates! 2018 Jeep Renegades (at least mine,) come with threaded inserts in all the relevant holes (6) in the bottom and sides of the frame rails! Mine even came with factory supplied bolts- (Photo#1,) (Grade 10.9 -14mm x 2.0 thread x45mm long with lock washers) -installed in all the holes! (They require a 21mm or 13/16” socket to remove/re-install.) (Photos #5 &6) From there, it’s pretty straightforward. Remove the existing bolts, and per the instruction and/or video, scrape the excess sealer from the bolt-hole areas, and remove the (2) bolts from the muffler support brackets to allow extra clearance during the install. (Photos #2 & 3). With the help of a jack, and an assistant, push & wiggle the receiver up into place, align the holes and re-install the supplied bolts. I torqued mine to the torque rating mentioned in the instructions. Then replace the muffler support bolts, and – That’s All, Folks! NOTE THE THREADED HOLE (S) IN THE FRAME BOTTOM, FORWARD OF THE MUFFLER BRACKETS! (Photo #2) THESE HAVE PLASTIC PLUGS IN THEM. THEY ARE NOT USED FOR THE HITCH INSTALL! Photo #9 shows the completed install, still up on the hoist. You can see the receiver is at about the same height as the rear differential, which might give it some protection. Oh, did I mention! I’m a retired professional mechanic (45 Years) so I have all the tools, and a home shop, with a lift! Having said that, there is no reason anyone else with a modicum of mechanical know-how, and basic tools, can’t do the job in their own garage or driveway. Tools used: ½” Dr. Ratchet, 1- 6”, 1- 3” extension, a universal joint adapter, and 21mm or 13/16” sockets for the large bolts, and a 13mm socket for the muffler bracket bolts. (If you have an Air Compressor and an Impact Wrench, that helps, but not required.) A Ft./Lb. Torque Wrench. Finishing up, I torqued the bolts to 80 Ft/Lb. A stubby Phillips screwdriver – used to remove the fasteners in the access panels at the rear of the wheel wells. If the whole fastener turns, use a finger, pliers or other tool to hold it, while unscrewing the center screw. I used a carton knife and a sharp wood chisel to scrape off the putty/sealer on the frame. You could use 3/8” ratchet and accessories to remove the large bolts, (they are not real tight,) but you will probably want ½” drive tools to tighten them. If you’re going to be working on the ground under the car; PLEASE - USE JACK STANDS TO SAFELY SUPPORT THE VEHICLE!

Perfect fit

Outstanding fit and quality. Video on install was spot on and helpful. Love the finished look, highly recommend this item. All necessary hardware included. I did buy some new plastic trim fasteners for the wheel well trim as a couple broke during removal, recommend getting some prior to installation. Trim removal tools are a big help during disassembly.

Shipping was fantastically fast and it arrived in good shape. I was going to install it myself, but the rain and the lack of a life made me choose professional installation. I thought the video was straightforward, but the installation guy didn't want to take the time to watch it. Either way, the installation went well and it looks fabulous! I was so happy to find this as I didn't want a normal hitch and didn't want the hassle of installing an in-bumper kit. I'm a happy camper!

Product fits well. It was not packaged well for shipping and had some paint damage on the edges. The instructions says to cut the heat shield 11", I did but I think it was too much.

Everything was shipped correctly and quickly. I have not had a chance to install but the instructions along with the videos should be no problem. If there is then I can reach out for help.

It's well made and mounted right up to my 2021 Jeep GC. I cut the lower bumper and installed the bezel I bought from the dealer. It's easy. Tip: If you remove the lower part of the bumper, there is no need to remove the upper part.

Ill start off with the great customer service, called a rep for assistance and did a great job. He walked me through everything for about 5 minutes. Then I proceeded to order parts at a very reasonable price. Shipping was right on time and tracking was top notch. Now for the parts I received. Trailer hitch receiver was built like a tank, and very easy to install. I didn't even have to take off the whole bumper which I see on your website. There is only one problem with this hitch receiver. Zip ties to hold the facia bracket? It's like putting a $10 paint job on a Rolls Royce. I'm sure you have a good R&D department, but this is unacceptable. I could tell you how to make this better but I'm not part of your team. could be solved by putting a ___ on the ______. R&D should be smart enough and paid well to figure this out. No offense but they can do better. ??ZIP TIES?? Also, it is pitched with a cap but did not receive that. I also purchased A brake controller P3 and a ball hitch. The ball hitch is pictured wrong on your website. It's pictured with an adjustable ball hitch. This is what really wanted but got something entirely different. If it works, I'll be fine with it. I should have caught that, but my eyes adjusted on the adjustable ball hitch. P3 brake controller was very easy to install, about 5 minutes. On a closing note, I will order from etrailer again. Thanks for your business. Just please listen to your customers and fix these problems. Everything and everybody are not perfect. Thanks again.

I have a mobile sharpening business and have an enclosed cargo trailer that I work out of. We just purchased a Dodge Durango and needed a hitch and wiring harness to pull the trailer. I have never installed a hitch or wiring harness before, but etrailer.com has the instructions posted so you can read them before making a purchase. It seemed easy enough, so I made my order. The order shipped the next business day and arrived in two days! Installing the hitch was a very simple process of removing 4 bolts, lifting the hitch into place, and reinstalling the 4 bolts. (Hint: If you’re installing on a Durango, or possibly other vehicles, lower the spare tire and get it out of the way. If you have big hands like me, it will be much easier to get to the bolts.) This hitch tucks very nicely under the bumper. There is no worry about banging your shins on it! It looks good too. If you are needing a hitch but are reluctant to try to install it yourself… don’t fret! etrailer.com has very clear instructions that are easy to understand. I would highly recommend this to ANYONE needing a hitch and wants to save a few bucks by installing it yourself.

So far, the hitch meets expectations. I have not used it for hauling a trailer, but I don't see how it couldn't perform that function. I am waiting to install the wiring harness until this weekend. We would only use this hitch for small trailers. This was installed on a 2022 Dodge Durango GT Plus. I chose to buy this model because it was promoted as being built in the USA. I saw sub $100 versions available on Amazon, but I didn't want to roll the dice on Chinese quality. The purchase/checkout process was efficient and easy. Shipping was quick and the hitch was packaged adequately in a large box. No damage to the finish was noted from shipping and handling. The minor scuffs noted were probably there from the manufacturing process. INSTALLATION: the process is not difficult, but there was a major difference on our vehicle that was not addressed in the included instructions or the online video. There is a large, semi-circular plastic shield to protect the spare. This shield MUST be addressed so that you do not have a layer of plastic between the metal parts of the hitch and frame rail. Eventually the plastic will crack and fall out, leaving the bolts loose. All you need is a 10mm deep well socket to remove the nuts and you will then have enough room to slip the sides of the hitch *behind* the plastic. Once the bolts are torqued in place (I also used Red Loctite and reduced the torque by 4 lb-ft for wet threads) the plastic cover can be forced in enough to reinstall the nuts.

Delivery was fast and product was as advertised. Installation was straightforward. I did not cut as much of the bottom appearance panel as the directions show. I only cut about 1/4 wide but had to cut about 12 inches long.

Looks like a solid hitch. Customer service has been a nightmare for past week and half. It was shipped in shrink wrap so lots of powder coating was chipped off. They said they would ship a replacement in a cardboard box (wouldn't that have been a smart thing to do the first time?) after receiving pictures. I sent pictures to the first representative. I did not get a reply email, when they said it would be sent same day with a return mailing label. I called twice and left a voicemail with the first rep only to never have my calls returned, or an email sent with what they were doing. I did an online chat a week later, only to receive an email from the second rep saying still waiting on photos. Resent them. Also sent screenshots of the original photo email. Still no acknowledgement to email or voicemail. Called the 800 number again only to be told out of stock until July (4 months) and I get a "$XX paint credit" for their junk packaging job on the original shipment since I need a hitch before July. So here I am with a solid hitch that's going to rust up immediately in several spots if I don't rubberize coat the chips. Some photos of the largest chips shown. I'm sure that'll cost at least $20 in spray on undercoating. Not satisfied. Will not be coming back to e trailer!

I installed this hitch on my 2009 Cadillac Escalade EXT truck! Yes fit perfectly like stock! Had to drill a couple of holes. Lol. The weight difference was a joke compared to the stock crap the factory had on the truck.

Very well built hitch. Somewhat of an easy install. Had to ream out one of the holes a little bit to get one of the blots in.

Bought the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Class III 2" hitch receiver for a 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Quality is well built and was properly packaged for transportation. It took me approximately 15 mins to install (remove, tighten and torque 4 factory bolts). Delivery was spot on with the provided ETA. This will be the second time I order a hitch through eTrailer. eTrailer provided the lowest cost (product + shipping) compared to many others online. Will definitely shop and order with eTrailer again.

Just put this hitch on my wife’s 2017 Jeep grand Cherokee. I was able to get under the back and install this on my own. Pretty straightforward and didn’t have any difficulty. So far, we’ve only used it for bike rack. Will install light wire harness next. Overall, pleasant experience with etrailer.com

My trailer hitch tried to get out of the box during shipping. Luckily everything was still in the box when I received it.

This is my second etrailer hitch. I’m very happy with them. I did the install alone. Better to have a friend help. I was able to install it without having to lift it off the ground. It probably would have been easier if I had put it on jack stands. I’m not a mechanic, but I decent around tools. You don’t need to be an expert to install this.

Great product! The hitch fit perfectly. The only issue was rusted, dirty weld nuts on the Equinox. Ran a tap through, no problems. Looks good and is tucked out of the way.

Quality product and super fast processing and shipping. Very impressed overall. With the help of the installation videos, I was able to do it myself in less than hour. And saved $200 doing it myself! Would definitely recommend etrailer.com to anyone.

Mazda CX5 Grand Touring 2019 excellent accessory, good quality and easy to install

This trailer hitch was, for me, very easy to install. I did not have any special tools but with only hand tools and not even jacking the car up I was able to install it in less than an hour. I did need my daughter to provide an extra set of hands while putting the first bolts in. I was very pleased with the quality of construction and ease of installation. It looks like the hitch came the car when I purchased it new. I would strongly recommend E Trailer.

Came 2 days early, didn't take my money till they ship it. Plus I never like to order anything online because I'm afraid it won't fit. But they said it would an it did( 2016 chevy traverse). Also it says 45 mins to install. Sounds About right 10 mins asking the wife an kids to help hold it up with no luck, 10 mins looking for my tools 18mm & 3/4 wrench,10 mins looking at the picture of the instructions because what GUY really reads it? lol, 10 mins putting it on by myself laying on my back in the driveway using my leg to hold it up & 5 mins putting on 1 bolt by the muffler because I didn't read the instructions an lower the muffler out of my way hahahah. P.s is you have soft hands I suggest wearing gloves an waiting for the muffler to cool off because i didn't ??. But all in all it was easy & fast to put on even if your by yourself. The instructions were spot on The videos were extremely helpful Price was great, and buying the trailer hitch, wiring harness, and fuse together as a package made the project easy. I would not hesitate to do that again when necessary.

Package showed up in 2 days as I was told. No damage. Ordered on line and would have preferred to talk to an agent to make sure that I was buying the correct hitch.

Put it on my mom's Caddy for my dad's hoveround chair lift. Install was pretty easy and hitch looks good.

Well made, well finished and heavy duty product! If you are even halfway handy, you can install this yourself. Like anything, fitting is exact.

Product was all there but arrived with shipping damage. Might want to think about how to keep the heavy items from moving in the shipping carton or protect the outside edges with cardboard or something. I'll touch up the paint but wanted to give some feedback, you guys seem pretty receptive to input. Other than that there was good communication through the whole process. Fast service. Thank you.

This is an excellent product. It took me about an hour to install. I bought the hitch so we can easily and safely transport our bikes. It took me about an hour to install.

This is the third hitch I have purchased from etrailer and each purchase has gone smoothly. I will say the two Curt Hitches did install and line up better than another brand I purchased from them but don't recall the brand on that one.

Good trailer hitch. Bought it to attach a bike rack. Installation was fairly straightforward. Hardest part was enlarging the frame holes. A step bit was the way to go. Fits perfectly without interference and is not obtrusive. Very beefy too. Very happy with my purchase.

This hitch installed in a breeze on my old Turbo TJ Wrangler with all the fresh hardware included. The alignment was spot-on as well, which is always nice! The hitch fits snugly under the rear bumper and doesn't interfere with my exhaust outlet either. After a year of substantial use, this hitch is still performing 100%. Altogether, I couldn't be more satisfied!

The build quality of this hitch receiver is excellent -- wonderful fit and finish. It fit perfectly on my 2006 Jeep Wrangler, and the finishes all look very high quality. I put a 1up bike rack on the hitch receiver and have driven 3 bikes about 150 miles and had very little wiggling and jiggling. I am incredibly happy with the hitch and am an etrailer customer for life.
