Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

Pontiac Montana

After receiving a damaged hitch I installed the replacement hitch pretty much as the instructions indicated. The bolt threaders provided were very helpful. Towed a trailer from Montana to Georgia on the first trip without incident.

by:

I got this hitch to use with a bike rack and it works well. I had a local auto accessories shop install it for me for about $100.
One year in and so far so good

by:

It is the best trailer hitch especially for a Pacifica! The installation kit that came with it was simple and complete. Our installer said they did not need any other items to complete the install.

by:
2018 Chrysler Pacifica

Came pretty fast and was more sturdy and well built than I expected. Installed it myself in the driveway with no lift. Was a touch difficult mainly because of the limited space under the van but still doable and instructions were easy to follow. I also watched the [online] from etrailer on how to install which helped me understand the fish wire technique. Otherwise, I would have taken 3 times as long. One tip is to have the right size sockets, a torque wrench, and be gentle on the plastic nut/washer things that attach the felt to the underside. I stripped one plastic one and had the wrong size socket for the big nuts.

Still solid, no issues, haven’t visualized any rust either up here in Iowa.

The draw-tite Max Frame Trailer Hitch. Is pretty straight forward. I put it on the same day as the delivery. It took me about 3.5 hours to install. It's pretty easy to do. I used a jack stand and a car jack. I rate the installation of this as 5 out of 10.

Trailer hitch fits as described and went on without any issues. If you have any questions their videos explain the steps for the install. High quality materials and looks great on the van!

After one year of using this product it is still performing well and looks just like the first day I put it on. Absolutely no issues!

Very happy with the fit and quality of this hitch. I do have a few comments on installation that may be helpful to others. I'm a 71 year old weakling so this can be done by less than Mr. Universe even though this thing weighs a ton.

I did this on the ground using nothing but ramps to raise the van. I did however jack the van onto the ramps in two stages because I was afraid of overshooting the ramps of I tried to drive on. I jacked one side up 3.5" using the authorized jack points and put a block under the tire, then the other side 7" and slid the ramp under, then back to the first side for the final 3.5" to get that ramp under.

This hitch is far too heavy for a guy like me to raise in place by hand and fiddle with the nuts at the same time. My suggestion is that you use a floor jack to lift it into place. There is a trick to this. I put a scrap of lumber into the receiver with a C-clamp to fine tuning the balance. Otherwise the brackets just flop down and it falls off the jack (see the photo). Also note that you have to tuck the right side bracket over the muffler before you can use this jack trick. From there is was easy with my wife operating the jack as I lined the bolts up.

In one video they tell you this but in the directions they don't: There is a 10mm stud you should remove from the left side frame. You can install the hitch with it there but you can't get it center as well as it should be left to right.

One more thing I noticed is that I could have trimmed the heat shield up to 4" less than the 11" the instruction say and gotten better protection for the seat well. This will work only if you reinstall the shield after the hitch is installed as the instructions say (not as the videos show).

In general this sees very strong--plenty sturdy for the 1500lb the LX is rated to tow.

I used etrailer.com vehicle feature to add my vehicle and this model showed it was compatible, then I got an email from the sender (lauren) questioned the compatibility for hybrid models and she told me what I ordered would not fit! i was forced to order compatible model from a list she sent me only to find out what I originally ordered DOES fit but only with a separate adapter kit. Now I have 2 high ticket items and will need one returned. Lack of transparency and information and system errors to provide accurate descriptions.

Recommended hitch worked great. Recommended electrical harness, not so much…

2017 Chrysler Pacifica

The video available from eTrailer was very helpful in understanding how to install the hitch on my 2017 Pacifica. While the instruction document included information on removing & cutting the underbody panel, there was no mention of it in the video. Using a floor jack, and a little help from a second person, I installed the hitch on my vehicle in my garage in around 3 hours. After removing the underbody panel, and working with the hitch, I found that I didn't have to cut the heat shield as much as identified in the instruction (and referred to in the video), and I significantly reduced the amount of the underbody panel that I cut out (maybe just a third of what the instructions indicate) which meant I only cut out one of the fasteners in the underbody. In case this is helpful for anyone else, I've included pictures of the changes I made).

Hitch looks good on car not a lot hanging down, just sq. tube. As for instructions I would add removal of Left rear wheel to get at 3 bolts holding on shield makes it easier.

Looks good works great

by:

Installation was easy on a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica Limited. Directions were clear and the online video helped. It looks nice and sleek as you only see the 2" receiver part. The cross tube is tucked underneath, out of sight. No issues with capacity. It far exceeds what the ol' mini van is capable of anyways.

Thank you for the excellent communication, through email and calling. I have nothing but good things to say with etrailer. I installed a hitch and wiring on my Chrysler Pacifica, and everything fit up perfectly and works great. If I ever need anything trailer/towing-wise in the future, you have my dollar.

by:

I found the installation instructions complete and simple to understand and follow. The kit had all the parts to do the job. I am quite happy with the product and the end result.

I would suggest getting a hold of a pair of car ramps to make the job easier. All-in-all it was a doable job for a week-end warrior mechanic.

by:

Very solid construction especially on the weld points. The hitch barely noticeable from the back end of the vehicle which makes it seem like its not there (nice). Good anchor points for chains and I love the wire harness mount in case I decide to wire through there.

Installation was sort of a pain because the video doesn't go over removal of the undercarriage protector and cutting that. However, the instructions did a good job of giving you cutting dimensions. I spent 1.5 hours doing this alone due to the cutting involved. If you are installing alone, use some jack stands to hold up hitch while you get it onto your bolts. A battery powered impact driver or ratchet go a long way. finger tighten first then hit it with the power tool.

by:
2018 Chrysler Pacifica

I was very impressed with the quality and ease of installation. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking to buy a tow hitch. The etrailer videos were awesome and was a big reason for my choosing them.

by:

Fits perfectly and easy to install bought it for a bike carrier and it looks very heavy duty

Still holding strong

by:

Mostly the hitch is positive. The spacing between the end mounting brackets is to narrow. There is extra round tube on left side to allow for a different position before welding. A quart inch may be enough to get a better fit.
I made cuts to accommodate the projections. The large cut out suggested seemed to course. All factory hardware was retained. The heat shield needed a small area of the rear corner to be trimmed.

by:

Good quality no issues after a year of heavy use

by:
2017 Chrysler Pacifica

received my hitch in 3 days, standard shipping! delivered to my door in perfect condition, unscratched and dent free. instructions for the hitch and wiring harness were clear and easy to follow. the hitch looked so good its a shame it isn't in a more prominent area.

by:

Product fits well. It was not packaged well for shipping and had some paint damage on the edges.
The instructions says to cut the heat shield 11", I did but I think it was too much.

by:

Everything was as advertised
Fit per
fectly

by:

Install videos extremely helpful. Had to run out to get a torque wrench with higher foot/lbs. rating than the one I had. Was able to put it on in my driveway with car ramps. I cut the fabric material tighter than instructions say, but I don’t need lights.

by:
2019 Chrysler Pacifica

I mounted the hitch currently and will be adding the wiring kit soon. Process was not hard after watching the video on your website. Overall pleased with the purchase.

by:
2021 Chrysler Pacifica

Was not to hard to install on my 2021 Pacifica. You do not have to cut out as much of the underneath panel as stated in the instructions. You definitely need two people to do some of the installation.

  • DoesDraw-Tite Hitch Installation on 2021 Pacifica Require Underbody Panel Reinstallation
Hi Brandon; that is correct. Since you have a 2021 Chrysler Pacifica you will not need to trim or reinstall the underbody panel when installing the # 76046. Let me know if you have any other questions.

  • Do You Have Replacement Hardware for My Draw-Tite Hitch on 2022 Chrysler Pacifica?
Hello Ben, Yes, we most definitely have the hardware that you need for the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # 76046. You will want to order the # RHK. You will need to put the hitch number in so the warehouse knows what hardware to pull. I attached a picture, you will need to put "76046" where it say "Hitch Item Number" above the add to cart. You should never re-use your hitch hardware anyway because it does stretch over time. What do you mainly...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver and Wiring Harness For a 2024 Chrysler Voyager
I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 76046 for your 2024 Chrysler Voyager. I prefer this as it has both a hidden cross tube and a welded on mount for securing the trailer wiring. This will provide a cleaner overall appearance without having to drill into your rear fascia. The T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118723 will provide you with a 4-way flat connector which is the most commonly used connector for small trailers. You can secure the end with a Mounting Bracket...

  • Best Trailer Hitch for a 2024 Chrysler Voyager
Hey Christopher, The absolute best trailer hitch for your 2024 Voyager is the Draw-Tite # 76046 because it has a fixed (non-removable) receiver and a hidden crosstube. This means you'll have a strong hitch that doesn't reduce your ground clearance. I have a similar style installed on my 2010 Town & Country and I'm always worried about scraping it when entering or exiting steeper driveways, and the hidden crosstube is definitely something that helps avoid scraping the hitch. You didn't...

  • Recommended Hitch w/ Relocation Brackets for a 2021 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid
The Draw-Tite Hitch item # 76046 does not fit the Hybrid model of the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica. To purchase a Draw-Tite hitch that does you'll need item # 76046-SK, which is also a custom fit hitch but this one includes the additional brackets needed to relocate the carbon canister. I have linked an installation video below so you can see how to get the Draw-Tite item # 76046-SK hitch installed. It shows how to relocate the canister too. What do you plan on using a hitch for?

  • Comparing etrailer and Draw Tite Hitch that Fits 2022 Chrysler Pacifica Touring L
The best hitch choice for your 2022 Pacifica Touring L is definitely the Draw Tite # 76046. It has better towing capacities and is much more hidden since only the hitch opening hangs below the rear bumper so it for sure is what I would go with over the # e98903.

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch For A 2024 Chrysler Pacifica For Carrying Two Heavy E-Bikes
For you I recommend the Draw-Tite Class 3 Trailer Hitch # 76046. I prefer this hitch over others, because it has a higher tongue weight rating at 675 lbs. So it will be plenty strong for your Kuat bike rack and two heavy E-bikes. This hitch also features a concealed cross tube. So most of the hitch will be hidden behind the bumper. The plastic underbody panel will need to be trimmed slightly, but it will give you a clean, factory look once installed. I have linked our installation video...

  • What Hitch for 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Has Best Ground Clearance
Hey Carlos, so I was able to find that you have the Draw Tite hitch part # 76046 installed on your 2017 Pacifica which is a design that has solid ground clearance but we do have the Curt # C65CR which has 1/2 an inch better ground clearance. That probably won't add enough clearance to make it worth the upgrade but it depends on how bad it is dragging. We don't have a roller wheel we can recommend either unfortunately.

Both the Draw-Tite Class III Trailer Hitch # 76046 and the Curt Class III # C13383, which are confirmed to fit your 2018 Chrysler Pacifica, will require that the heat shield is trimmed/modified for proper installation. In both cases the heat shield does get reattached after the hitch is in place. Even when trimming the heat shield, your vehicle will still be protected because the installed hitch will essentially be taking the place of the trimmed off portions. Between the two hitches,...
