Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

Great shipping time. Placed my order Sunday and products arrived on Wednesday. Everything fits perfectly. Ordered the Class III hitch by DrawTight and a cargo basket to fit by Curt. Everything is exactly what I thought it would be. 271957

I was very impressed with e-trailers willingness to exceed expectations. I placed my order late at night and within 7 hours I had received an email indicating my purchase had been shipped and the shipping method had been upgraded for free to cut the delivery time down a couple of days. The install was a little more difficult than what e-trailer had made it out to being. Not that it was any more complicated, but the wires they provide in order to fish the bolts through the bumper are inadequate and in my case would have been impossible to do. I ended up using my own fish tape to pull the bolts through. However once that was done, the install went extremely smooth. I am very happy with my purchase, and I would definitely recommend e-trailer to anyone looking to purchase from them. 125454

Short of installing it's self my son-in-law and I installed this hitch for my 13 Chevy Equinox in just under an hour. The only tuff spot was the two bolts below the license plate on the frame. My compliments to Hidden Hitch and Chevy. Thank You etrailer.com for the ease of purchase and fast delivery. The item was well packed. 68341

What we did is use the fish wire and added a piece of wire to it. Then we fished the bolt and washer through the end of the tube and pulled the bolt through the drilled whole and then attached the nut, etc. I used needle nose pliers to grab the wire to pull through. Really wasnt that bad just caused a little head scratching. Hope this helped some.

Sturdy hitch. Installation would have been better if I had not read the previous reviews commenting on the chassis bolt installation. The bolts will turn in fine even if they are snug. Lube the bolt and give it time to cool if it becomes hot. It won't snap. However, trying to tap the existing weld nut could leave you removing a broken tap. 913681

  • Troubleshooting Trailer Hitch Bolts Not Fitting Weld Nuts on 2012 GMC Terrain
The Draw-Tite Class III Trailer Hitch Receiver # 76028 referenced in your question is confirmed to fit your 2012 GMC Terrain. Please just let me know if this is not the hitch model that you have. This particular hitch does include six M12x1.75x45 CL10.9 bolts for installation, so it appears that you received the correct size bolts. The issue you are experiencing is actually not terribly uncommon. The frame underneath your vehicle is constantly exposed to dirt and grind and this debris...

  • Trouble Installing Bolts for Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch on a 2013 Chevy Equinox
The weld nuts on your 2013 Chevy Equinox use M12x1.75x45 size bolts like what your Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 76028 came with. I checked and the similar Curt # 13591 and etrailer.com # E98865 trailer hitches use M12x1.75x40 size bolts which means they are slightly shorter but not so much that it would affect anything. If you didn't already use some lubricant when you cleaned the weld nuts try spraying some WD40 in there and then letting it soak for a bit before cleaning...

I have added a link to an installation video as well as the directions for you to check out which shows this. Additionally, if you need a wiring harness for your '18 Terrain and do NOT have the factory tow package the correct part is the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118764. If you do have...

For a trailer hitch that is a confirmed fit for your 2017 Chevrolet Equinox and is made in the USA, I recommend the Trailer Hitch Receiver part # E98865. This hitch has a class III rating with a 2" receiver tube opening. It also has a weight capacity that exceeds your vehicle's rating so there will be no need for something with a higher rating like the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 76028 which is not made in the USA. • Can A Weight Distribution System be Used With 2012 GMC Terrain with Factory Package
I was able to confirm in the owner's manual for the 2012 GMC Terrain with factory tow package that it is acceptable to use a weight distribution system on the trailer that you are towing. It is a great idea to use a weight distribution system if the trailer you plan on towing weighs more than half of the weight of the tow vehicle to avoid sway and reduce rear sag on the vehicle which actually puts less stress on the vehicle suspension. If the GMC Terrain does not have a trailer hitch,...

If you'll be towing with the hitch, you'll also need a trailer wiring harness like # 118759 if your vehicle is a Premier model, # 118750 if it isn't a Premier, and if it has the factory tow package, you'd use # 118285 which includes the relays needed...
