Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

Video Transcript for Trailer Hitch Installation - 2017 Chevrolet Equinox - Draw-Tite

Today in our 2017 Chevrolet Equinox we'll be installing the Draw-Tite Max Frame Class 3 Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number 76028. Here's what our hitch looks like installed. As you can see it's nice and tucked up underneath our bumper here, has a very clean look. This nice welded-on collar outside the receiver gives it a finished appearance and helps give it some more strength. Towards the front of our vehicle we have our industry standard 5/8 inch diameter hitch pin hole right here. Towards the rear we have a J pin stabilization device hole.

What a J pin stabilization device does is help take some of that annoying shake and play and rattle out of what's inserted into your receiver. We have our nice easy to use safety chain loops here. They're fairly large; you should be able to fit pretty much any size safety chain in, all the way around the perimeter of it if you need to. This hitch features a 675 pound max gross tongue weight rating and a 4,500 pound max gross trailer weight rating. It does offer the use of weight distribution, but the numbers stay the same. This hitch features a nice high-gloss black powder coat finish which will provide us many years of rust and corrosion free service and blends in nicely with the vehicle.

Gives it a nice finished look. Now for a few measurements to better assist you in choosing any hitch mounted accessories you may need, such as a ball mount, bike rack, or cargo carrier. You're looking at about 4 1/2 inches from the center of the 5/8 inch diameter hitch pin hole to the rearmost part of the back bumper, and about 15 inches from the ground to the top of the class 3 2 inch receiver opening. Here's what our hitch comes with. We have the hitch itself and then our installation hardware right here. This hitch comes with 10 bolts; we'll only need 8 in order to install it.

Depending upon your application the center bolts right here, we'll either use 2 of these bolts here that will go into a weld nut. If you don't have a weld nut present on your vehicle we'll use 2 carriage bolts there with 1 of these small spacer blocks here. Those will drop down through the frame rail with these included pull wires. Then we'll secure it up with a conical tooth washer and then a nut. Now that we've gone over what's included, we'll show you how to get the hitch installed. Now up underneath our vehicle bottom section of our bumper, we have this door that's removable.

This will cover up where your factor hitch would be if your vehicle was equipped with one. You just push on these tabs here. There's 2 on the sides, 4 on the top, and we'll remove our door. We can set that aside. Now, if we we're to follow the center line of our bumper right here and go off to both sides of it, you'll find 2 small round holes. These round holes here are going to be where our bolts are going to come through to help secure the rear of our hitch. Take 1 of our pull wire here, start on the passenger side first, push it in the hole and we'll push it out the bumper support until it comes out. You can see our pull wire came through our bumper support there. Put on 1 of our small spacer blocks on the wire and we'll thread on a carriage bolt. Then we'll pull the end of the wire, our bolt comes out. We'll come right through this hole here, do the same for the driver's side. Now we're going to be doing what's called a reverse fish wire technique on this large hole. It's in both sides on our frame rails. Stick our large plate on our pull wire, thread on a carriage bolt. Push the carriage bolt up, stick the spacer plate up, pull our bolt down. We'll repeat the same process on our passenger side now. Now with an extra set of hands we can raise our hitch on up into position, making sure we don't push our carriage bolts up into the frame. We'll secure it with conical tooth washers, teeth facing towards the hitch. Then we'll thread on our nut and repeat the same process on the other side. Now we'll push up on our hitch a little bit and install our side hardware. It's a bolt and a conical tooth washer. We'll repeat the same process on the other side. With all of our side hardware in place we'll put our middle hardware in using our conical tooth washers and thread on a nut. Now we can tighten down all of our hardware. We'll repeat the same process on the other side. With all of our hardware tightened we can now torque it down to the amount specified in the instructions. I just want to point out for clarity that our carriage bolts get a different level of torque than the bolts that went directly into the weld nuts, so just make sure you pay attention to that. That completes our installation of the Draw-Tite Max Frame Class 3 Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number 76028 on our 2017 Chevrolet Equinox.

I received the product as expected and on time. The nice thing about ordering through etrailer is there is never any guessing on your order status. Prompt emails and follow ups always let you know when your product will be shipped and if anything is on back order. I have had to contact etrailer customer service (because of an error I made) and dealing with Amanda was fantastic. There was no deep accented male named "Becky" answering the call. Amanda was very polite, educated in product knowledge and answered every question without making me feel like it was the dumbest thing she's heard. Thank you etrailer, Paul 10785

Just finished up installing hitch #76028 on our 2014 Equinox. Will be towing a new Forest River Wolf Pup. Also have a Steadi-Flex weight distribution system ordered more on that later. As others have mentioned the packaging for shipping leaves something to be desired. The hitch arrived on time with the box badly broken, the hitch was scratched to bare metal in three places and one of the arms was bent. After straightening and painting it went on without a hitch. It took longer than anticipated due to having to first remove an old hitch, and that I am fussy. I took the opportunity to clean and paint the area where it mounts and to tap out all holes I think you should put a caution in your video about making your own tap that after each turn of the tap you should back up a quarter turn to clean out the threads, also DO NOT force the tap. Breaking the tap or the weldment loose makes for a LOT more work. The people I worked with to order were great and your website has a lot of good information. Will buy again and recomend to others 488175

Extremely well made. My only suggestion is based on install, this is for a car a decade old. Hit the install threads with a rust spray, get a wire brush in there (spark plug cleaners work well) Otherwise, install is a pain. Use a penetrating thread locker and not a setting one, due to the time to align and get all bolts seated it may inhibit setting all bolts. 576491

The quality of the hitch is very high and it's fit to my vehicle perfect with all installation holes a brackets lining up perfectly. I will stress the need to get an M12 tap and chase (re-tap) the weldnuts in the vehicle body. The vertical holes, because they do not hold dirt and water, required only brushing out. However, without tapping the horizon holes (2 on each side) the bolts were not going in. Temporary use coiled wires worked like a charm for installing blind bolts. Have a partner install nuts on the blind bolts while you steady the hitch. Installing at least bolt in the middle loose helps hold up the hitch. Start all bolts by hand before tightening any bolt/nut. Be sure to use a torque wrench...what your hand thinks is tight is a long way from the required bolt load. 141812

Delivered in three days--Super! Everything packaged as ordered and, packed securely in shipping box. One of the larger holes--for the hitch pin--in the receiver was too small to get the hitch pin through: I had to ream it out a bit; debur the hole; then paint it. All else went perfectly. Thank you. 567269

I was very impressed with e-trailers willingness to exceed expectations. I placed my order late at night and within 7 hours I had received an email indicating my purchase had been shipped and the shipping method had been upgraded for free to cut the delivery time down a couple of days. The install was a little more difficult than what e-trailer had made it out to being. Not that it was any more complicated, but the wires they provide in order to fish the bolts through the bumper are inadequate and in my case would have been impossible to do. I ended up using my own fish tape to pull the bolts through. However once that was done, the install went extremely smooth. I am very happy with my purchase, and I would definitely recommend e-trailer to anyone looking to purchase from them. 125454

The product arrived in two days. I liked the custom fit for my vehicle to facilitate installation. I installed the hitch by myself and the process took a total of four hours including the wiring, setup and cleanup. I installed the hitch in my driveway without a jack or jack stands. The included directions were clear and concise. I will be using the hitch to pull a small trailer for home project materials. Mulch, top soil, plants and maybe moving furniture for friends etc. Adding the hitch allows me to not have to ask a friend to use his vehicle and trailer when I have a need. This way I can operate on my own schedule since I retired in Oct. 2017. I would suggest that if one lives in an area where there is frequent snow and the roads are treated with rock salt to be diligent about cleaning out the pre-threaded holes where the hitch mounts. I actually had to run a tap through the threads. The wire brush method did not do the trick. Overall I look ahead to years of service from the hitch and am glad I bought it! Customer service was exceptional (Thanks Paula S) and I would recommend etrailer.com to my friends and family! 495864

Provided bolts for the hitch to frame rail to the factory mounting points did not fit. Had to purchase the correct bolts adding additional cost to the hitch set up. Contacted etrailer and they said to try cleaning out the factory point that the bolts go into, after running a wire brush through I was able to tread a tap in and it was a completely different thread pitch than the provided bolts were. After getting the right bolts I was able to use the hitch and have been happy since. 561131

75681 seems to be a fine product. I really like the extra strength of the 75681. The only thing which I would suggest for consideration would be for the addition of 2 (two) more Pull Wires. The Pull Wires are a great idea and a real time and trouble saver. My installation required the use of the 2 (two) Carriage Bolts and the 2 (two) 1-1/2 x 2 (Small Blocks) for the Bumper Mounting Bracket. I did my installation on my driveway. A small hydraulic jack was very helpful in lifting the receiver socket towards the frame while installing the Bumper Mounting Bracket Hex Nuts and Conical Washers. The installation did require me more than 40 (forty) minutes. The online installation videotape was very informative and helpful. This was a very smooth project. Thank You! John M. Habak 95168

Wow delivered in 3 days and installed in a little over an hour. Had to grind down large spacers to fit into frame rather than enlarging the hole. Pull wires worked awesome. Install wasn't to bad it's a really good fit but work for 1 person but I won out in the end. Shipment arrived with tabs sticking out if the box no damage but some foam packing might help. Would recommend you guys anyway. 411611

Delivery was on time. Product as expected. Employees very helpful on the phone. I would have ordered the wrong hitch on line without their help. The salesperson even told me where to look for the factory wiring. (I didn't know it had it). I was ordering wiring and didn't even need it. I had it put on by a friend mechanic. (I am 77 years old). All total cost less than $200. I"m very happy with my purchase. Now, to buy the trailer. Don"t need it, just want it. Pat G. Myrtle Beach, SC. 559414

I installed the 76028 on a 2017 GMC terrain in 45 minutes with no problems.I cut out the access panel a little different than the instructions showed for a more hidden look. The ball mount locking pin and safety chains install with no problem with access panel cut as in the photo and give the hitch a clean hidden look.Would recommend this hitch for any one wanting to add a hitch to a GMC Terrain ,well built and easy to install! 439320

2017 Chevy Equinox trailer hitch - not only was the product well constructed, but the videos on installation take the guess work out of it. My hitch came with a damaged box and scratches on the paint. Concerned about rusting etrailer promptly sent another which arrived fast in good condition. The service on the phone was wonderful. The local U-Haul dealer was going to charge me $4$$ for the installation which included $1$$ for the wiring. My Equinox has the trailer wiring quick connect which took me 2 minutes to open and connect the harness. So my total with receiver and harness was $1$$. Compare that to the U-Haul $4$$ quote. It was a no brainer. I am telling many friends about trailer.com. Thank you for a great product and great service! 360922

The hitch arrived in two days . It took me about an hour to install by myself. Would have gone faster with an additional pair of hands. I used a floor jack to hold up the hitch which made it easier. The hardest part was getting the nuts on the two front bolts. The wiring was also easy to install. I saved myself $260 over the local trailer rental company installed price. Great company with excellent products and easy to follow instructions! 572287

2016 Chevrolet Equinox

I searched the internet to put a hitch on my 2016 Chevy Equinox and found an instructional video from eTrailer.com where they installed on my exact car. I decided to go with eTrailer.com because they answered all my questions and because of the video-I support businesses that go the extra mile with these videos. Shipping was quick and well tracked, however, the box was flimsy and the one end of the hitch had come out of the box side and the ball mount could have easily come out of that hole during shipping. If I were eTrailer.com I'd charge an extra couple of bucks for more sturdy boxes-people will still buy as eTrailer is a well-trusted brand and this would overcome a lot of the negative reviews you'll see on their site about this shipping issue in their own reviews :-) I installed the hitch by myself (definitely recommend help as two people holding it up to the frame makes attaching 100% easier) in about 45 minutes total (out of the box, read instructions, review video again and installation complete). All hardware went on with no issues. Great quality hitch! I also bought the lesser expensive wiring assembly because most recent equinox's come hitch ready with pre-wired assembly in the left side compartment-snap and done. Picked up a new trailer at Home Depot within days and drove 5 feet and the clacking was horrible. I had always had a welded hitch before buying a hitch that took a ball mount. I really thought something was wrong and when I searched the internet that night it turns out this is very common. However, all you need is some sort of hitch "silencing" device. The number of options will drive you mad but I went with the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch and it did the trick for much less than most of the other options. If I were eTrailer.com I'd have that as one of the RECOMMENDED add-ons and explanation why its super-worthy when customers are buying a hitch. Would have saved me the time and hassle of dealing with it later and the extra shipping charge for buying after the fact when I got free shipping for the other items the first time :-) All in all, I'm super, super happy with my hitch, wiring assembly, ball mount, ball mount locking pin and the hitch silencer. Buy with confidence from eTrailer.com Paul R., Syracuse, NY 287168

Short of installing it's self my son-in-law and I installed this hitch for my 13 Chevy Equinox in just under an hour. The only tuff spot was the two bolts below the license plate on the frame. My compliments to Hidden Hitch and Chevy. Thank You etrailer.com for the ease of purchase and fast delivery. The item was well packed. 68341

What we did is use the fish wire and added a piece of wire to it. Then we fished the bolt and washer through the end of the tube and pulled the bolt through the drilled whole and then attached the nut, etc. I used needle nose pliers to grab the wire to pull through. Really wasnt that bad just caused a little head scratching. Hope this helped some.

etrailer, The overview buying experience from etrailer was excellent. The product descriptions and videos were exactly what I ordered and helped a lot with installation. I also liked how etrailer took the initiative to send me an email the day the products were delivered. The only reason I didn't rate this product as excellent was because the wire that feed the hex bolts through the bumper was a little short so I had to extend it by taping a clothes hanger to it. Also, the included paper instructions were a little hard to read, because so many different makes and models were crammed into one page of instructions. It wasn't clear on how to install the two hex bolts, and small blocks, that were furthest from the hitch. Overall I was very pleased with the product and recommend it to everyone. 2015 Chevy Equinox AWD Thank you! C.R. 192927

I received the ordered hitch for my car right on time, but the box had taken a real beating where the flanges that attach to the frame rails had broken through the box Since I am by myself I needed to review the video that eTrailer had on the internet.Very good but I noted that when it came time to attach the hitch to the car the demo shows two people making the install!. wow now what do I do to get the hitch into place without losing the bolts back up inside the frame at the four points that the bolts just hang in place. So, I figured out a way to balance the hitch on a floor jack( see picture) to slowly and careful to position the hitch up in position. Since I was nervous about losing the four free hanging carriage bolts back up inside the frame rail and bumper I left the pull wires on each of the carriage bolts and laced the wires through the hitch in each of the four location. When the hitch was up sufficient to pull the carriage bolts through the hitch four bolt location and then remove each pull wire as I was able to have sufficient bolt thread to attach the conical washers and Hex nuts before removing the floor jack and tighten ing the four carriage bolts to snug the hitch into the final position in order to install the two metric bolt on each outside of the existing weld nuts in the frame rail. All went well except the bolt in the lower position on the frame rail drivers side appears to have hit something in side the frame rail and was not able to be treaded completely into the tight position. When removing the m12x1.75 x 45 bolt the thread showed the roll over of the threads (see picture). Off to Ace's Hardware and a new bolt m12x1.75 x 30 to solve the problem. Over all the hitch fit just as designed and I am very pleased with the produce, and proved to myself that I could do the install by myself! Where there is a will there is a WAY ! 498736

Robert, thank you for your review. Over time grime can get into the weld nuts in your frame and harden over time. This will make it seem like the bolts supplied with your hitch are too large for your weld nuts. The good news is the weld nuts can be easily cleaned out. We do not recommend changing out the hardware. I have attached a link that will help you.

From the time I placed my order to when I received my items, the whole process was pretty easy and quick. After watching the online video on how to install the hitch several times, the day finally came to install it. Had it not been for the snug fit, it definately makes the installation easier to have a second pair of hands! Luckily for me, since the hitch fit quite snuggly onto the frame of my Equinox, I was able to practically wedge it in place and it stayed up. I would say that the most difficult part of this installation was feeding the hardware fro the "front 2 bolts" through the bumper. On my first try on the driver side I lost the hardware 1/2 inside the bumper cavity. At first I paniced and decided to take a break. I proceeded to install the passenger side hardware and took my time and some extra jiggling to get the hardware to pass though. Luckily there was extra "feed" wire and I was able to use a magnet to retrieve the lost hardware. On my second attempt I was succesfull and was able to button up the install. Total install time was less than an hour!! Everything fit up nicely and worked like it should have. I'm impressed with how easy this was in install and how well the hitch fit the vehicle! Practically plug & play!! It really is as easy as it looked on the video! I was concerned at first because the box received a bit of damage from shipping but all the hardware was secured to the hitch and nothing was lost during shipping!! See attached pics. Once installed, this hitch isn't going ANYWHERE!! Very securely mounted and just a solid product! It practically becomes one with the vehicle. It will outlive the vehichle! 461505

2005 Saturn Vue

This hitch looks great mounted on my SUV. The only real problem is that its been on for about a month and the paint is coming off in MANY places already. I rarely drive, and haven't towed anything yet so I'd expect this to hold up way better in the short time that I have had it mounted. I will touch it up with some spray paint I guess...but its just an added step. The mounting was tough, but only because I have an older SUV with some rust issues on the side threaded bolts. Took some doing, but was able to get it on. Also, maybe send these in a tougher box, it was sticking out of both ends upon receipt. 437280

Thanks for checking in. The trailer hitch was great and held up fantastic. Only got to use it about 4 times, but it worked perfectly. The wiring harness matched perfectly and was a breeze to install. The SUV i mounted it on didnt have enough towing capacity for my new boat, so I ended up trading it in for a newer one that had a factory hitchpre-wired setup. So the hitch receiver and wiring stayed with the SUV upon trade in. I held on to the ball mounts and the other bars and have used them a bunch for towing and launching and they are working great. Really love the site and am shopping around for some other accessories like a roof rack and maybe some offroad recovery gear as well.

2016 Chevrolet Equinox

I installed this by myself yesterday right after I received it. I used a jack stand as a helper. Everything aligned perfect. Biggest problem was installing the nuts and washers at the receiver. Not much room in there. Secured the washers in position with masking tape, then started the nuts on the bolts, removed tape before securing nuts. Overall, an easy install with no bad surprises. I replaced a full size pickup with this Equinox. Needed something to haul stuff like lumber, building supplies, appliances, etc. I will be towing a small 4x8 trailer to transport items that won't fit in my car. I could have got away with a lighter rated hitch, as my car is only rated to tow a maximum of 1500 pounds. but I like the extra mounts on the hitch. 302218

I installed this trailer hitch quickly and easily. A year later, I am extremely happy with my purchase. I initially hesitated thinking it would be complicated, but it was simple and definitely worth the work. I have purchased several items from etrailer.com and have been completely satisfied with their customer service and their products. Would definitely purchase again. 642590

I looked this hitch up and seen the installation video. Clicked on it and decided to do it myself. It was just like they said, very accurate and saved me over $100 by having it installed. Arrived on time packaged great with all my other stuff. Will be ordering again soon. Floor mats and more to come....... Thanks 642481

Hitch installed easily. I used a floor jack to slowly load the hitch in place while ensuring the carriage bolts lined up. The existing weld nuts were a pain, as described in the video but persistence pays off. Electrical Harness was simple to install and I recommend using this type because hacking into the existing harness isn't worth the time and energy and, the results won't even be close. No worrying about corrosion issues causing no trailer lights. The only attachment is the ground wire to the body. The supplied screw for the ground wire was too small for this application. Maybe it was supposed to have a washer to go with it like some electrical ground screws? 641821

Installed unit on a 2010 Chevy Equinox. Watched the etrailer and the u-haul videos before trying the install. Do take the time to clean and re-tap the weld nuts. I was surprised at the amount of dirt that had accumulated in the threads. One bolt would not start and had I not dropped it and picked up another bolt I would still be fuss'n and cuss'n under the vehicle. The bolt that did not start looked good but I chased the threads anyway and got a small sliver off the bottom third of the bolt threads. Bolt started right away after that. Good value for the money, everything lined up properly and went right in (except for the one bolt). 641203

Hitch is very well build and fit perfectly. It literally took me less than 30 minutes to install, and I did it by myself. You'll need an 18mm wrench or socket. 637563

Fits perfect in my 2015 GMC terrain. I don't plan on towing much I mostly bought it to use a bicycle carrier and a cargo basket. The only suggestion I have is if you have a car a few years old and live in an area like mine with snow and salted roads the weld nuts on the frame needed to be tapped and re threaded because I couldn't get the bolts to go in at all. I've purchased a few things from etrailer and I love that they always have a how too video on the car you're working on. This trailer hitch is a great product at a reasonable price and would recommend it to anyone looking to buy one for your equinox/ terrain. 637332

One person can install it. Just need a little patience. Follow the instructions and watch the installation video before you do anything. I received my product at 2 pm and was done by 4:30. Hardest part was working around the exhaust (big guy / small space). Everything thing else went smoothly. 635313

This should have been a fifteen minute installation but being a 2006 the well nut threads were all rusted. I had to get a tap and clean the threads out before I continue with the install. I also bought a Draw Tite Cover/Hitch Silencer that I was not able to use because the ball mout did not go in far enough with the cover installed as it had a six inch lift and the gusset bracket prevented it from going all the way in so the the pin would not go in. This sounds like a bad review the hitch was great and priced right so I am a satisfied customer. I am just telling you what obstacles I ran into. 635260

Purchased a Draw-Tite brand trailer hitch, ball, and wiring harness for my 2012 Chevy Equinox. I was amazed at how exact the fit was! Installation was fairly easy and the videos on the website were extremely detailed and helpful. Could have used a second set of hands at one point but other than that, everything went fine. Pulled a rental trailer cross country with it and everything worked great. I have since bought a 2018 Mazda CX-5 and have already purchased another trailer hitch, ball, and cargo carrier. This hitch was also a perfect fit and the cargo carrier is outstanding. Couldn’t be happier with my purchases and with trailer.com! 635253

  • Needing Trailer Wiring Harness for 2017 Chevrolet Equinox
  • The DrawTite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch, # 76028, for the 2017 Chevrolet Equinox does include the fish wires to install the bolts on the frame of your vehicle. For your wiring harness, there are two options. If you do not have the factory tow package, then you will need the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118494. The wiring harness is designed to plug into the existing wiring of the vehicle without cutting or splicing the original vehicle wiring. If you do have the factory tow package...

  • Trailer Hitch and Wiring for a 2017 Chevy Equinox without Factory Tow Package
  • For your 2017 Chevy Equinox you can use Draw-Tite trailer hitch # 76028. This is a Class III hitch with a 2 inch receiver. I have linked a video showing an example installation for you. If you plan on doing some towing I recommend etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag. If the ball mount...

  • Trailer Hitch and Wiring Recommendation for 2017 GMC Terrain
  • For a hitch for your 2017 GMC Terrain I would recommend the Draw Tite part # 76028 which is a confirmed fit, with great towing capacities, and because it has the best price. For trailer wiring the Curt harness part # 56094 that you referenced is a confirmed fit, but I would rather see you use the Tekonsha part # 118494 as it has circuit protection built into it that the Curt does not. If you wanted to do some towing you might be interested in etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes...

  • What is the GCWR of a 2015 Chevy Equinox 4 Cylinder
  • To determine whether or not you will be able to pull your boat and boat trailer with your 2015 Chevrolet Equinox you will need to do a little bit of calculating. In an online version of the owners manual for your Equinox it says that the GCWR (Gross Combination Weight Rating) for a 4 cylinder is 5,787 lbs for a FWD and 5,952 lbs if it is AWD. The GCWR will include the weight of the fully loaded Equinox, trailer, passengers, cargo, equipment, and conversions. The most ideal weight to...

  • 1-1/4 inch Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2017 Chevy Equinox
  • For your 2017 Chevy Equinox we do have a 1-1/4 inch trailer hitch by Draw Tite. For that you would want the part # 36408 which I attached an install video for you to check out. Normally we would recommend the Class III hitch # 76028 that you referenced since this size is more popular and has more capacities but I can understand in your situation wanting the Class II 1-1/4 hitch.

  • I do have a trailer hitch for your 2010 Chevrolet Equinox but the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 76419 will not fit as it is designed for a 2018 - 2019 Chevrolet Equinox. For a 2010 model, I recommend using the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 76028 which offers the same bolt-on installation and 4,500 lb gross trailer weight rating as the above. • Recommended Trailer Hitch for a 2017 Chevrolet Equinox that is Made in the USA

This hitch has a class III rating with a 2" receiver tube opening. It also has a weight capacity that exceeds your vehicle's rating so there will be no need for something with a higher rating like the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 76028 which is not made in the USA. • Trailer Hitch and Wiring for 2011 Chevy Equinox
  • The best way for you to determine if your 2011 Chevy Equinox has the factory tow package or not is to place a quick call to your local Chevy dealer; simply give them your VIN and they will be able to tell you if the Equinox is equipped with the tow package or not.
