Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

2014 Chevrolet Traverse

Ordering from Etrailer was easy and with free shipping, can't go wrong. This trailer hitch was easily installed and works great. Installed in less than 15min on a 2014 Traverse. I do not know about other hitches, but what is nice about this one, is the hitch sits well up under the vehicle, so the same plastic hitch cover that came with the vehicle can still be used. I was somewhat expecting to have to purchase the alternate cover which has extension for the hitch receiver or leave the hitch visible. The wife was pleased, that the hitch was not visible. 141031

Keith, which hitch did you buy and what model Traverse do you have? Where does one buy the alternative cover?

Keith ordered the Draw-Tite Max-Frame hitch, part # 75528 from us for his 2014 Traverse. There are alternate covers from GM, but whether you'd need one would be dependent on year and which model. This hitch fits Traverse, Outlook, Enclave and Acadia.

This is was the first towing hitch I have installed. Installation was easier than I thought, took about an hour and a half including, gathering of tools and exhaust system cooling time and a single set of hands. What I liked about the hitch receiver were the tolerances to which it was made, it had very little movement at the time of adjustment for final torquing of bolts. Also, once the factory hitch cover goes back on, there is no way to tell if one is on. The only problem is that if you have a cargo carrier to use like mine, it is difficult to insert a keyed locking pin as there were only about 5 inches to work with, still recommend. This was installed on a 2014 Traverse. The videos on Etrailer are extremely helpful, I felt more comfortable doing the install by myself. Saved me at least $200. 144395

I was impressed with the quality of the product. I was dreading trying to get the nuts in place for the bumper bolts. I was surprised to see two nuts with metal straps included in the hardware. It was very easy to place the nuts into their proper place and complete the process. That was a perfect solution. Installation took a little longer because i had to clean up the rusted frame threads. Too bad GM doesn't put plastic caps into the threads to keep them from rusting beyond use. Otherwise I am thoroughly pleased with the hitch, mounting instructions and the ease of installation. 435957

One of my key concerns was that several vendors apparently ship these trailer hitches unwrapped and without a box. I was pleased to find that the hitch was nicely packaged with the parts nicely secured. I found the video very helpful, and I completed the installation in less than an hour. Using a ratchet strap to secure the mufflers made the job quite simple. I did have help holding up one side of the hitch while I started the bolts, but other than that it was largely a solo effort. My Enclave has only been through one winter, and the bolts threaded in after minimal cleaning the threads with a shot of WD40. The four rubber muffler hangers popped off without use of lubricant or a pry bar. Oh, by the way I took advantage of the low price guarantee. Etrailer provided the price difference plus 10% before the item even shipped. I almost felt guilty about getting a credit when I found a lower price from a lesser vendor. Etrailer has been extremely responsive, and I couldn't be happier with the whole experience. 202383

I went back and refreshed my memory last years review, and I am still satisfied today. The hitch looks the same as when I installed it a year ago.It was a great value and buying experience, and if I am in the market for trailer accessories, I will be back.I think that the etrailer business model of including customer comments and informative installation videos would translate well to other parts markets.

I received this Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" back in December and just installed it yesterday. The hitch came with all mounting hardware including instructions. I went online to review the install video which I recommend to any DIY's it was very helpful. It took more than the 45 minutes that was quoted but that was because of the factory frame nuts were rusted and trying to tap them was difficult because the exhaust would only drop a few inches. All in all it was a fairly easy project for a 68 year old to accomplish. I would recommend this product. 664922

I received the hitch one day after ordering (I live close to the warehouse) and was able to install it fairly easily. The weld nuts on my vehicle were somewhat dirty and rusty since I have 47k miles on it. I ran the bolts into and out of the nuts to help clean them out before actually installing the hitch. I also didn't have the tool for removing the exhaust hangers but a little silicone and a channel lock pliers were enough to pry them off. 866618

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2011 Chevy Traverse
The trailer hitch I recommend for your 2011 Chevy Traverse is the Draw Tite hitch part # 75528 because it has the best capacity, is a 2 inch size which is most popular size for hitch accessories, and it installs very easily. I attached a video that shows it installed on a similar 2011 Traverse for you to check out as well. For trailer wiring to allow your vehicle to control the taillights of the trailer you'd want the T-One kit part # 118450 because it installs without requiring any...

The hitch (which comes with all the mounting hardware) is the only one that comes with a bracket that makes attaching your wiring connector easier and look more clean, and the T-One harnesses are the most reliable plus they come with relays and fuses to get all of your wiring up and in order. To attach these...
