Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

  • Trailer Towing Setup Recommendation for 2014 Buick Enclave
You are on the right track! The Draw Tite hitch part # 75528 is a confirmed fit for your 2014 Buick Enclave as well as the trailer wiring kit # 118270. The wiring mount part # 18144 will also give you a place to mount the 4-way that bolts to the bumper. The ball mount part # C45036 that you referenced is would also work well if you need 2 inch drop. I attached a help article that details how to pick out a ball mount drop as well.

  • Best Way to Transport 4 Kayaks on 2015 Chevy Traverse
Without knowing the length of the crossbars and the weight of the kayaks, I would have some doubts that you're going to be able to carry 4 kayaks on the roof of a 2015 Chevy Traverse-but if you were going to do it the Thule Stacker # TH830 would be the way to go since they don't take up a ton of space. You're going to need roughly 50" (the Stacker takes up about 3" of bar space) of crossbar space to successfully do this. I would also recommend checking your owner's manual to find out the...

  • Parts Needed to Tow a 3,900 Pound Trailer with a 2016 Buick Enclave with Factory Tow Package
In addition to a trailer hitch, such as # 75528, for your 2016 Buick Enclave you will also need a trailer wiring harness, ball mount, and ball. These are the basic components needed for towing. It looks like the Enclave already has a trailer wiring harness so that plus the hitch means we need to look at ball mounts and balls. I recommend an adjustable ball mount such as # C45900 because it is height adjustable from 6 inches drop to 5-1/4 inch rise and it has both a 2 inch and 2-5/16 inch...

  • Will Trailer Hitch from Buick Enclave Fit Lincoln MKX
The Draw-Tite Class III # 75528 and the Curt Class III Trailer Hitch # 13424, which are the available trailer hitches confirmed to fit the 2014 Buick Enclave, are compatible with certain model years of the GMC Acadia, Saturn Outlook and the Chevy Traverse. However, the trailer hitch on your Buick Enclave will not fit your new Lincoln MKX, as the body styles are simply too different between the vehicle models. If you are able to tell me the year of your Lincoln MKX, I will be happy to...

  • Towing Capacity for 2016 Chevrolet Traverse without Factory Tow Package
When looking at weight capacities of a towing setup, you will always be limited by a system's weakest component. I took a look at the online owner's manual for your 2016 Chevrolet Traverse and saw that for a front-wheel drive model that does not have the factory trailer towing package, the maximum trailer weight is 2,000 pounds. As you mentioned in your question, the factory towing package would have bumped it up to 5,200 pounds. So with your Traverse that does not have the factory tow...

  • Can A 2016 Chevy Traverse Tow A 3,800lb Trailer Safely?
Hey Scott, As long as he doesn't exceed the maximum towing capacity of the vehicle he will have no issues. I did some research and it looks like that vehicle has a 5,200lb towing capacity. Now I would recommend him checking the owners manual for his specific vehicle, but it looks like he should have no issues towing that trailer. You can locate the plug for the Tekonsha T-One # 118270 at the rear passenger side as is shown in the attached installation video. • Solution for Weld Nuts of Trailer Hitch that Are Too Rusty to Thread Bolts
Rusty weld nuts can make trailer hitch installs pretty difficult but there are solutions. First you want to clean them as well as possible so that hopefully that allows the bolts to thread. But worst case scenario you can use a thread tap to clean the threads out. If you can't even get the tap in I'd first try cleaning them with a wire brush and WD 40 first to help get the tap started. I attached two help articles that cover how this is done as well.

Good question! The T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118270 will fit your 2017 GMC Acadia Limited whether it has the factory package or not. The plug should be located at the rear of your vehicle behind the rear passenger side tire (see attached photo). • Comparing Curt and Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receivers for 2017 Chevrolet Traverse
The only significant difference between the Draw-Tite # 75528 and the Curt # 13424 is the capacity. Since both of these far exceed the towing capacity of your vehicle that really doesn't make a difference. If I were to recommend a hitch for your 2017 Chevy Traverse it actually wouldn't be either of these. Instead, I would choose the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98863. • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for 2016 Chevy Traverse
The big thing you need to keep cool when towing a heavy trailer is the transmission fluid. Modern radiators do an excellent job cooling the engine coolant especially when combined with the electric fans vehicles are using as well, but what the still haven't mastered is the transmission fluid cooler from the factory which if the fluid gets too hot takes you end up taking 10's of thousands of miles off of it's life. So if I was to turn a blind eye to you trying to tow beyond your capacity...
