Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.
Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.
In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

I feel I shouldn’t have to go through all that to install a hitch on my truck . This must happen a lot because Gwen emailed me instructions on multiple ways to try to bend the hitch into lining up . Very disappointed with etrailer customer services response to my issue
Installed in about a hour. 6 bolts. If u can change your oil, u can install a trailer hitch! The bolt over the exhaust pipe was the toughest. I used my leg and foot to get it better lined up and my son screwed it in. Torqued the bolts, done.
The hitch looked nice, but it it didn’t just bolt on. We had to use C-clamps to make the holes line up, after a few hours we were able to make it work.
It’s a very solid hitch and a fairly easy install. I did it by myself but did suffer from the slightly mis-aligned bolt hole on the hitch. I had to take it back off (booo) and nudge it with a two by four and a sledgehammer. Once lined up it was installed and tightened in about 20 minutes. I have to pile on a bit about the packaging though. A hitch packed loosely in cardboard is going to have issues. I understand you try to save weight but I can’t imagine any of these arriving in a pristine box. It was flopping around in the box when I picked it up off the porch. And that loose packing resulted in some nicks and scratches, but its going to get nicked up the first time I go off road anyway so not concerned about that.
Great solid receiver. Easy enough for a girl to install. Perfect fit too. Very happy with this purchase
The Draw-Tite feels very sturdy and installed as expected after reading owner reviews It just took a little finessing, a couple of cuss words and a motorcycle Jack for me to install it by myself.
At the time of this review, it's just been installed, so I haven't had the opportunity to tow with it. First job will be to transport a motorcycle using a car trailer.
Got the hitch and wiring harness for my 2018 Nissan Frontier a year ago, my sons installed it as a Fathers day gift, it was easy to install and works awesome. Happy i got it, etrailer made it easy to order and the instructional videos were very helpful.
I installed the Draw-Tite class III on my 2014 Nissan Frontier without much problem. Since I did not have a spare set of hands, I used 2 scissors jacks, one at each end of the hitch, to raise the hitch very close to the frame where they would be bolted. I discovered there is some slip play in the hitch bolt holes, so did not tighten any of the bolts until all 6 bolts were threaded part way into the holes. I then tapped the hitch as far back as it would move toward the back bumper and tightened all 6 bolts. It's a good solid fit. I will be using it to help haul an 18 ft kayak and alternately a bike rack. We also have a 26 ft Trailmanor camper.
Draw-tight Max-Frame trailer Hitch Receiver was a perfect fit. I used the screws and ran them in first to clean out treaded weld nuts on truck. Once running them through (all 6) I installed the hitch. All holes matched perfectly. There was a slight packaging problem that scraped the paint on one end but other than that everything worked out great.
Perfect fit for my Frontier.
I was installing a new bumper due to rust issues on 10 yr old truck, decided to install new hitch also as existing one was starting to rust away. Great price, free fast shipping, recieved 2 days after ordering
Super easy install. However, the hitch was not damaged but it should be shipped in more secure packaging. The product was protruding through the box and I unprotected.
Hitch was scraped and missing paint from shipping. Poor packaging. Very disappointed. Hitch was covered in dust. Wish I bought it from [online store] would be an easy return.
Quick ship, box was damaged and retaped. All items were present, going to have to tweak drivers side bracket to get rear bolt in, couldn't get best picture uploaded
I am an automotive technician and found this product to be a great value. Installation was easy. The hitch and wiring only took a half hour to install and found the quality very close to that of the vehicle manufacturer product.
Was delivered quickly. 2022 Nissan Frontier. I thought nuts were missing but realized bolts screwed directly in to the frame after reading included directions. Fit great. Install under 30 minutes. I've purchased several hitches from and always works good.
Thanks!
This is the third hitch I have ordered from etrailer in the last 15 years and all 3 needed paint touchup due to poor packaging. By the time they get to my house, the ends have punched through the side of the box and have bare metal. Seems taping a bubble wrap bag over each end would fix this. Also, glad to see connector brackets being welded on the hitch now, but it is a straight piece of metal. Since the bar on this particular hitch (75282) is not straight, the connector bracket position is not straight either. Not a functional issue, but is noticably crooked when viewed from the rear of the vehicle. Installation was easy.
I just tried to install this on my 2018 Frontier pro 4X and it does not line up on my frame. It looks like the hitch is bent.
If I had the bolts in all on one side none of the holes matched up on the other side by a quarter inch. I'm about to contact their support and I hope they can help me. The reason I bought from them is it looked like they are very helpful and had a lot of good reviews. We will see. Update: Nbr got his hitch flexed back into shape and it worked perfectly**
This is the second hitch and wiring harness I purchased from etrailer. The first one was about 10 years ago for my Windstar, which is still running/towing stong.
Shipping was quick and arrived within a few days. Parts were neatly fastened to the hitch. I installed the hitch during my 1/2 hr lunch break at work. It was a simple job with one snag. The rear bracket bolt holes did not line up on the driverside. I had to hammer the bracket, furthest from the welded tub, outward. Once that was done I tightened and torked, job complete.
I would like to see etrailer encorporate a wiring receiver into the hitch. This would eliminate the ugly hanging on the receiver wire and add to the professionally installed look. This hitch as a small plate on the driver side with pre drilled holes. Perfect for perminatly securing the wiring harness.
Product arrived quickly. Packaging was good; so not even a scratch on the hitch.
The videos on the installation of the hitch and the wiring harness made the job easy.
Took about an hour from start to finish.
As the video notes, You should definitely take the time to clean the the threaded holes on the vehicle with a spray lubricant and a wire brush; then dry fit the bolts. It'll get out all of the grit and rust particles.
Perfect fit and very easy to install. I installed it all by myself using a jack to lift it into place and all the bolts went in very easy. Torched it to the 68lbs as per instructions. Looks great and high quality.
Got an etrailer twofer here. Just installed a Draw Tite hitch on my 2013 Nissan Frontier. The install went perfectly and took about 45 minutes working alone. Kudos to etrailer for FAST shipping, good products and videos that give a guy the confidence to do the job. We traded our Equinox that had an etrailer hitch on it so I picked up a hitch for our truck. The Hollywood bike carrier I have had for some time is also pictured here (also from etrailer) and I could not be happier with this arrangement for carrying our recumbents.
My 2008 Nissan Frontier.
Turns out it didn’t have the trailer tow package but I was able to purchase the relay harness from my Nissan dealer. It also included the trailer wiring harness that not only fit the vehicle frame but connected perfectly with the mounting plate on the new hitch.
Bought the DrawTite bolt on hitch kit. It had a slight bend on the passenger side which required me to use a small block of wood between the hitch and the rear bumper to prevent it from slipping while I used a light tug on a small crowbar to move the bracket into place directly over the mounting holes. Once I got the four corner bolts in it was a snap after that. I took these photos with the truck up on a pair of ramps while I was installing the tow package relays and the trailer wiring harness a few days after I installed the hitch.
Photo 1: A rear view of the mounted hitch. Nice clean lines, doesn’t hang too low or stick out too far in back. A perfect fit!
Photo 2: Another angle of the hitch. The receiver is in place while the rest of the hitch is barely visible below the chassis.
Photo 3: From beneath. The reason I ordered the DrawTite hitch is the drawbar goes completely through the mounting brackets rather than simply welded to the sides. The six mounting bolts are snug up under the frame and the tab on the driver side is perfect for mounting the wiring harness/plug.
Photo 4: The wiring harness that came with the tow package relay harness attaches directly to the drawbar perfectly. Rather than using the two 10mm hex head screw/bolts that came with the kit I attached the wiring bracket to the drawbar plate with two 7/16” x ½” coarse thread screws with washers and lock washers that I had on hand in the workshop.
Product arrived in good condition and all parts were present.
I used a floor jack to raise the hitch into position and maneuver it while doing so as I worked alone. The instructions included were minimal but did provide the proper torque for the bolts. The online installation videos were _very_ helpful. I also was helped by a tip from a reviewer in one of the comments to use a clamp to align the bolt holes with the weldnuts because the final hole was just a fraction of an inch off from allowing the bolt to thread in easily. Installing the hitch portion took about 45 minutes for me but I took my time.
Holes didn’t line up perfect for install but I used a ratchet strap to pull it in place so I could get the bolts in. The chain loops are a little to wide too and it’s hard to get the safety chains connected. Other than that it has held up nicely.
Really like the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver. It was easy to install on my 2019 Nissan Frontier. Very sturdy and the overall quality is excellent.
A great buy
