  Hey Craig, the issue with a backup alarm that plugs into a 4-way is that 4-ways do not carry a reverse light circuit so there would be no way to activate the alarm at the right time.   I do have some options for you but Hopkins Backup Alert # HM20101VA actually will not fit your 2015 Chevy Silverado 1500 due to the type of bulbs your truck uses for the reverse lights. What you can use is a stand alone backup alarm that will wire into a reverse light wire such as # PK41820. You can mount it pretty much anywhere under the truck.   I took a look at the online version of the owner's manual for your 2016 Subaru Forester and it lists a 16W watt W16W bulb for its backup light. The overall sound will vary depending on the vehicle it is installed on since the light housings are different on all vehicles. But no matter what vehicle it is installed on you should be able to hear it without issue. If you want something louder I recommend back up alarm # PK41820. It is rated for 97 decibels and you will be able to hear it better since you can mount it under the vehicle....
