Today we're going to be taking a look at part number E09708. This is the Erickson Winch Strap Web protector, this unit gets applied to your winch strap. You feed in one side right here, come over the protector and then back through the other side. This is ideal when it comes to protecting the life of your strap, especially when your strap is going over sharp edges or corners. The plastic construction is going to take the impact, it's going to take a lot of the damage and the force and the pressure which is going to take that off of the strap and extend the life of your strap. It's going to protect your strap from sharp edges and it's going to work with up to four inch wide straps, so that's the length of the opening that we have on each side.
A really simple installation, again, you just feed your strap through, bring it over, it's got the guides here on each side so it makes sure that your strap doesn't come off one edge or the other and then you can simply just tighten the strap down. This will come up right to that corner or that edge that you're wanting to protect the strap from and as you tighten it, you don't have to worry about your strap making contact with that sharp edge. A really nice design. We're going to take a look at the overall width real quick. Again, it's designed to work with up to four inch wide straps. If we take a measurement of that opening there, it's about four inches and then the overall width is going to be about five and one quarter inches.

What a piece of junk!
Used at boat transom tie down straps. Didn’t even survive one trip from Chicago to Ontario.
