Rotating Arm with Ratcheting Hook

Kuat Transfer V2 ratcheting hook

The Transfer V2 has a ratcheting hook that grabs your bike firmly by the front wheel - not the frame. It's perfect for carrying a carbon bike or bike with a custom paint job. To load your bike, simply place the front wheel in the cradle, rotate the arm up and over the wheel, and press down firmly on the ratcheting hook.

Front-Wheel Cradle with Adjustable Pitch

Kuat Transfer V2 front wheel cradle

In its upright position the front cradle sits at the optimal position for holding a normal-size bike. However, you can adjust the cradle so that a smaller bike sits more toward the center of the rack. To adjust the pitch, use the included Allen key to flip the bolt locator tab upside down.

Pivoting Rear-Wheel Cradle

Kuat Transfer V2 rear wheel cradle

The rear wheel cradle accommodates a wide variety of bike wheelbases. It pivots front to back, adjusting automatically to your bike's wheelbase - no need for sliding and tightening. Secure the wheel in place with the built-in ratcheting strap. A strap extender (sold separately) lets you carry a fat bike.

U-Shape Frame

Kuat Transfer V2 U-shape base

Most platform-style racks force you to reach out and over the rack to load your bikes. The U-shaped frame allows you to get closer to your bike to lift it. Also, it won't block your backup camera when it's folded up.

Foot Lever for Easy Tilting and Folding

Kuat Transfer V2 foot lever

The spring-loaded foot lever is easily accessible even with your bike loaded. No more crawling through your bike or squeezing between the rack and the vehicle to hit the tilt release lever.

Kuat Transfer V2 tilting rackKuat Transfer V2 folding rack

The foot lever lets you tilt the rack down with your bike loaded for cargo area access. It leaves both hands free so that you can lower the rack in a controlled manner. When the rack is unloaded you can fold it up for storage.

Easy Installation

Kuat Transfer V2 complete security

The rack is easy to install. Just slide the shank into your hitch and use the included 8-mm Allen wrench to tighten the ball cam. An anti-rattle wedge is deployed inside the shank to help take play out of the hitch connection.

Kuat Transfer V2 adapter sleeve

The rack has a removable aluminum sleeve that lets you convert it for use in 1-1/4" hitches.

Complete Security for Bike and Rack

Kuat Transfer V2 indentation

The Allen wrench has an indentation, so it can only be used with the Transfer. This helps keep the rack secure on your vehicle. You'll need to store it in a safe place because you'll need it when you want to remove the rack. You can also use a locking hitch pin (sold separately) for extra rack security.

Kuat Transfer V2 integrated cable lock

The Transfer also includes a cable lock that secures your bike to the rack. The 1/4" thick, braided steel cable threads through your bike's frame, and locks back into the rack.

  • Class 1 Hitch And Platform Bike Rack For 2015 Subaru Impreza Hatchback
Hello Jonathan. So, as far as hitch fitment goes, the hatchback and the wagon are one and the same. We just have it listed as 5-door wagon instead of hatchback. So, for a class 1 hitch for the 2015 Subaru Impreza, I recommend the Curt # C11286. This has a 1-1/4" receiver so it will allow you to mount any bike rack made for a 1-1/4" hitch. My recommendation for a platform-style rack is the Kuat Transfer # KU64FR for a 1-bike rack, or the Kuat NV # BA12B for a 2-bike rack. The Kuat racks...

  • Hitch And Bike Rack For A 2016 Mazda 3
Hi Jose! You didn't mention if you have a 2016 Mazda 3 Sedan or Hatchback, so I have options for hitches on both. Sedan: EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - 2" # 306-X7303 Sedan or Hatchback: Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4" # C11377 If you have the Sedan, definitely grab the EcoHitch. The 2" receiver gives you significantly more options for carrying a bike rack. I did see one review online (I went through a lot of different sites) that said...

  • Bike Rack for Lectric Lite XP 2.0 On 2019 Corolla Hatchback
Hi Gabriel; the Saris Freedom # SA4412B will not work for the Lectric XP Lite 2.0 since the capacity is 35 lbs per bike when used with a Class I hitch. If you only need it for a single bike you can use the Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Rack # KU64FR which can handle up to 60 lbs. This is a wheel mount instead of a frame mount but it looks like the bike doesn't have fenders so that won't be an issue. If you need bike rack for 2 bikes I recommend the Thule T2 Classic Bike Rack # TH9045. This has...

  • Single Bike Rack Recommendation for e-Bike and Class I Hitch Receiver
Hey Iris, thanks for reaching out! I recommend checking out the Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Rack # KU64FR because it weighs in at 26 lbs and can carry up to 60 lb bikes. The only thing that might not work is this is a tire mount rack so if your bike rack has a front fender, we don't want the fender to get damaged by the hook. Let me know what bike you have, and I'll let you know if this will accommodate the bike itself!

  • Will 50 Wheelbase Electric Mountain Bike Fit on Kuat Transfer V2 1-Bike Rack
Since the Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Rack # KU64FR can handle up to a 60 lb bike with a max wheelbase of 50" and since your Santa Cruz falls within these specs (even though the wheelbase is at max) it will be a great option for you! The Transfer V2 comes with a cable lock but if you want to lock the rack to your hitch receiver you'll also need the locking hitch pin part # HL1. Attached is a review video of this rack for you to check out.

  • Recommended Bike Rack for a 2020 Pedego Interceptor
Hey Sue, thanks for the information. The Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Rack item # KU64FR is going to work great with your 2020 Pedego Interceptor. It has a 60 lbs capacity, so you'll definitely need to remove your battery. It's recommended when your transporting an e-bike on a bike rack anyways. The V2 works with tires up to 3" wide and wheelbases 50" long or less. It fits 1-1/4" and 2" hitches and weighs only 26 lbs. To use the Kuat Transfer V2 item # KU64FR while towing your trailer, I recommend...

  • Recommended Single Bike Bike Rack for a 50 lbs E-Bike that Fits a 1-1/4" Hitch
All of the hitches for the 2023 Kia Soul like item # C67FR are Class I 1-1/4" hitches so your options are pretty limited. The best e-bike rated bike rack is going to be the Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Rack for 1 Bike item # KU64FR. This bike rack has a 60 lbs capacity and fits tires up to 3" wide. You can install the item # APBK if your tires are larger. The Kuat Transfer V2 item # KU64FR is a wheel mounted style rack so it's going to secure your bike by gripping the front tire. • Will The Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Rack # KU64FR Work on a 2022 Nissan Frontier?
Yes, you are going to be able to use the Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Rack # KU64FR with your 2022 Nissan Frontier as long as you have a receiver. If you do not have a receiver from the factory you can use our etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98869 to carry the bike rack. Anytime a receiver is put on a vehicle I recommend also adding the Wiring # 118266 in the event you ever need to pull a trailer or use Auxiliary Lights # C53201 with your truck.

  • Recommended Bike Rack for Electra Townie with Step Through Frame and Fenders
The Kuat Transfer 1 Bike Platform Rack # KU64FR that you referenced is an excellent carrier but I don't recommend it for your Electra Townie because of the fenders that you mentioned. The Kuat Transfer will need to clamp down right where that front fender is which would likely lead to a unsecure connection or maybe even damage to the fender. All of the 1-bike racks we have available feature a wheel mount design that would run into the same issue so your best option is going to be with...

  • Recommended Single Platform Bike Rack Adapting to Two Bike Rack
Thanks for your kind words! We do have bike racks that can be single or two bike carriers. I recommend the Kuat Transfer 1 Bike Platform Rack # KU64FR because the design makes loading easy for one or two bikes because there isn't a bar in the middle so you can walk the bike from the balanced middle right to the cradles. Then you would add the 1 Bike Add-On for Kuat Transfer # KU57FR. I've attached a video to assist.

  • Recommended Bike Rack for a Aventon E-Bike Rack With Fenders
Robert, it actually looks like the Kuat Sherpa 2.0 # KU64FR is not going to work they way you want it because the hooks on this rack interfere with the fenders since they sit right against the forks. I'd recommend going with a frame mounted rack instead with the Thule DoubleTrack Pro XT Bike Rack for 2 Bikes # TH92BJ. This rack has a two bike, 35 lb per bike capacity, and will work with tires up to 5" wide. If you need a bit more capacity out of the rack you can use the Benton Shifts&Grins...

  • Bike Rack for Lowered 2021 Mazda 3 With Class I Hitch
Hey Steve! It looks like the hitch on your 2021 Mazda 3 is a Class I so you're going to be pretty limited. It sounds like you're planning to carry a single bike, is that correct? If so, the closest thing to meeting all of your requirements is the Kuat Transfer V2 # KU64FR. This is Class I compatible and has a weight capacity of 60 lbs. This includes a cable lock and has an optional hitch lock # HL1. It does stick out straight for a bit before the rise kicks in but that is true for all...

It supports up to a 50 inch wheelbase bike and the Trek Pure Sport has a wheelbase of 46.25 inches so it does fit your bike. It's worth noting an additional bike add on capability with the 1 Bike Add-On for Kuat Transfer 1-Bike Platform Rack part # KU57FR. • What Rack Can I Use on a 1-1/4 Inch Hitch to Carry My Velotrac Foldable 1 Plus Ebike
Thank you for your question, Thomas. The answer to your first question is yes, you absolutely can use the Kuat Transfer V2 # KU64FR without using the adapter sleeve. However, because of how the wheel hook will need to hold onto your bike, your fenders will get in the way. Your bike wont work with a rack that is frame mount based on not having much of a cross bar in the center of the bike. • Why Can the Kuat Transfer V2 Carry a Heavier Bike Than the V1
It sounds like you have the Kuat Transfer V1. If that is the case, the weight capacity is actually 40lbs. instead of 45lbs. This would not be adequate for using your 50lb. e-bike. You would need to upgrade to the Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Rack # KU64FR, which can hold a bike weighing up to 60lbs. The main difference that allows the V2 to carry a heavier bike than the V1 is the shank and adapter. The V2 has an upgraded/bulked up shank and better 1-1/4"-2" adapter than the V1. While both racks have a weight capacity of 60 pounds, the Transfer V2 has a slightly larger bike compatibility range than the Tire Hold.
