Yes, it will James. Less than 1/2" isn't going to matter. What size tires does your mountain bike have? The Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Rack for 1 Bike item # KU64FR comes with a cradle that only fits tires up to 3.0" wide. If you have larger tires you'll need the Phat Bike Adapter Kit for Kuat Bike Racks item # APBK. These work with tires up to 4-1/2".
