Hello there, hoping you can help me out here. I have a 2025 Ford Maverick and I would like to set it up for flat towing. I know I had Demco stuff on my old vehicle, and I would like to use that again for this one. Need a new tow bar as well since I don't have mine anymore. Can you tell me everything I need here? Hey Tom! I can definitely help you out. Demco has some nice products for flat towing so I'm sure you'll be happy going that route again. To flat tow your 2025 Ford Maverick you will need a base plate kit, tow bar, safety cables, wiring, and a supplemental brake system. For a complete Demco setup you need the following:

-Demco Tabless Base Plate Kit # DM77YV

-Demco Commander II Non-Binding Tow Bar # DM9511012 (includes safety cables)

-Demco 4-Diode Universal Tail Light Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles # DM9523010-54

-Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-156-25

-Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo Flat Tow Brake System for RVs w/ Hydraulic Brakes # SM99251

-Demco Air Force One Flat Tow Brake System for RVs w/ Air Brakes # SM99243

-Roadmaster Brake-Lite Relay Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-88400

You will need to choose the brake system based on the brakes you have on your RV, hydraulic or air. The tow bar does have a built-in rise/drop so more than likely you won't need a high-low adapter to keep your setup in the safe zone (within 3" above/below level). If you find that you are outside of this zone you can use the help article below which explains how to measure and find the right adapter. 2025 Ford Maverick flat tow install completed much like what you mention for "Tom" including Roadmaster Brake-Lite Relay Kit RM-88400. Light kit works great for turn signals, running lights, and brakes with the tail lights. But the license plate light does not work. Also I think the light over the cab might function for braking too when not being towed. How should the license plate light turn on when flat towing? Kit does not include another diode or wires and instructions for it to run too. 6-pole is connected to the 4 wires to the taillight diode kit as instructed but unclear how to get license plate running plus thought the brake light over the cab (I need to look to confirm it normally turns on for braking; otherwise it's just a cab light) would be good to get running too for braking making it more safe.
