Comparing Roadmaster, Blue Ox, and Demco Base Plate Kits for 2024 Ford Maverick

Updated 05/22/2024 | Published 05/20/2024

Question:

Hello, Ive watched the video referencing flat towing a Ford Maverick. In the video the recommendation is to use the Roadmaster base plate in favor of either the Demco or Etrailer option. I think the rationale was the Roasmaster being more secure but not positive of that. In any case the Demco, and perhaps the Etrailer options seem to be less invasive or require less fascia cutting. My question is what are your thoughts about these three options Demco, Roadmaster, Etrailer for a 2024 Maverick? Next are there cost advantages of one versus another? Thanks,

Hey Donziman, so we have three different options for base plate kits that fit your 2024 Ford Maverick. We have the Roadmaster # RM97RR, the Demco # DM77YV, and the Blue Ox # BLU86HR. We don't have an etrailer base plate kit available but (spoiler alert) the etrailer brand kit is exact same as the Demco.

So my favorite brand to use is the Blue Ox so that is what I would go with. The kits are really well made but the they just happen to be the easiest to connect to the Blue Ox tow bars like the part # BX7420 so that's what I would go with if it were my Maverick.

Price differences are there but in general there's no getting away from spending quite a bit of money on flat tow setups. The least expensive though is the Roadmaster which is still a solid choice just not my first pick if money wasn't a factor. Demco is most expensive.
