  • Shortest Available 2-Inch Ball Mount
You can see all fixed 2-inch ball mounts by clicking on the linked page. The shortest of these is the Curt Ball Mount # C74WR. This aluminum ball mount measures 8-1/2-inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the ball hole. It offers either 2-inches of drop or 1-inch of rise. Tow rating is 8K and tongue weight is rated at 800-lbs. A video is linked for you.

  • Difference In Draw-Tite Class IV Hitch Compared To Lower Priced Class IV Hitch
When comparing the Draw-Tite Ultra Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Class IV, part # 41929, to the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Class IV, part # 14361, they are similar, but the new version of the Draw-Tite # 41929 is rated higher. The Draw-Tite Class IV Hitch has a tongue weight capacity of 1,200 pounds and towing capacity of 12,000 pounds. The Curt Class IV Hitch has a tongue weight capacity of 1,000 pounds, and towing capacity of 10,000 pounds. Both part # 41929, and part # 14361 have...

  • How Close To a 3" Rise Ball Mount For 2" Receiver Do I Need?
The Draw-Tite Ball Mount for 2" Hitches # 2753 will work just fine for your situation. I wouldn't be to overly concerned over a 1/4" difference in the height measurement. I usually suggest to be plus or minus 1" for the height. This ball mount is rated for 7,500lbs towing and 750lbs tongue weight. You will need a 2" Hitch Ball # 63845 or 2-5/16" Hitch Ball # C40007 with a 1" shank. If you are concerned we do have the Draw-Tite Ball Mount # 4281 that is a 3" rise. This ball mount is rated...

  • How to Select a Ball Mount or Draw Bar with the Correct Ball Hole Size 1-1/4"
This is a great question! Although we do list the ball hole diameter in the specs for each ball mount, there is an easier way to make sure a ball mount has the hole size you need. Any ball mount rated for Class IV hitches will have a 1-1/4" ball hole. As you have discovered, ball mounts rated for Class III hitches can have either a 1" or a 1-1/4" ball hole. If you stick with Class IV ball mounts you can be sure they will have the correct ball hole diameter and they will fit 2" hitches that...

  • Trailer Hitch, Wiring Harness and Ball Mount Recommendations for 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport
The Curt Class III hitch you referenced, part # C13152 would be an excellent choice. For wiring, the Curt # C56332 would work well as long as the connectors you found at the rear of the vehicle are active. I'd recommend having a helper activate the turn signals, brake lamps and running lamps as you use a circuit tester like # PTW2993 on the pins of the connectors you found to make sure they're active. If they're not, you'll want to go with the # C56184 wiring harness. When we installed...

  • Fit of Draw-Tite Class IV # 41936 Trailer Hitch on 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 Mega Cab
For a Class IV hitch, I'd recommend the Draw-Tite # 41929. The Draw-Tite Class IV hitch you referred to, part # 41936 is a fit for cab and chassis trucks only. Cab and chassis trucks have a narrower frame than the regular truck models do, and therefore the hitch wouldn't fit your truck. I've linked you to the installation instructions. For a 12K rated ballmount, I'd recommend # 4281. For a 12K rated 2-5/16 inch ball, use # 19286 or # A-90 for a 2 inch ball.

  • How to Pick Out the Correct Rise Ball Mount for a 2007 Volvo XC90 towing a Boat Trailer
I attached an FAQ on determining the correct rise/drop ball mount for you to check out, but it sounds like you have determined that you need a ball mount with a 3 inch rise. Check out the Draw-Tite Ball Mount # 4281, when used in the rise position this ball mount will give you 3 inches of rise. What hitch do you have? Thule does not make hitches for vehicles so I am wondering if you meant to type Valley. The reason I ask is that because all of the hitches we offer for your vehicle recommend...

  • What Ball Mount and Suspension Kit for Towing 2000-lb Trailer with 2013 Toyota Highlander SE Model
A ball mount with rise or drop is helpful in matching the different heights of the trailer hitch on a tow vehicle and the coupler on a trailer. It is important that your trailer frame be level when hitched to your Highlander to ensure stability when towing. Please note that a different height ball mount will not reduce rear-end sag in your tow vehicle; but we do offer suspension products that will help. We offer a wide range of both fixed and adjustable ball mounts (the adjustable type...
