Suspension Enhancement Recommendation for 2025 Nissan Frontier Towing Trailer

Updated 04/21/2026 | Published 04/20/2026

Question:

Howdy! I’ve got a ‘25 Nissan Frontier and towing a Trailmanor 3124 around 5000. It has more than I thought there might be might be when towing so had thought about some sort of helper spring. SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs - Rear Axle Part Number: SS96EV Or Timbren Suspension Enhancement System - Rear Axle Part Number: T24CR Any material differences that I need to consider here? Any other suggestions as to what else I might consider? I’ll be doing the install myself so hoping to keep it easy. Thanks much!

Hey Jeff, I would strongly recommend the SumoSpring kit part # SS96EV for your 2025 Nissan Frontier. This will give you the support you are looking for without causing the ride quality to be overly harsh which the Timbrens are known to do. Install is not bad at all either. I attached an install video link on this page for you to check out that will walk you through the entire process down below. Do you have any sway when towing?

Your quick reply was appreciated! One more question. Any noticeable difference between the blue and black? Thanks much.

@JeffG The black # SS46EV is a bit stiffer and is rated for 1,800 lb whereas the blue is rated for 1,400 lb. More I think about it the black might be the better option for you. You'll be towing a little heavier so the higher rated SumoSpring would give better support without killing ride quality.
