  • How Much Does The BulletProof Hitches Aluminum Adjustable 2-Ball Mount - 2-1/2" Hitch Weigh?
Good question, Bill! Kind of surprised we don't have that listed anywhere, but the BulletProof Hitches Aluminum Adjustable 2-Ball Mount - 2-1/2" Hitch - 6" Drop/Rise - 14K # BPH77MR weighs right at 19.5 pounds. This makes it the lightest with this kind of capacity. Just to compare, here are a few similar options: Curt Adjustable 2-Ball Mount - 2-1/2" Hitch - 6" Drop, 5-1/4" Rise - 20K # C45902 - 35.5 pounds Gen-Y Adjustable 2-Ball Mount w/ Stacked Receivers - 2-1/2" Hitch - 6" Drop/Rise...

  • Will InfiniteRule Locks Fit Curt Adjustable 2-Ball Mount
Hello JD; you can use InfiniteRule locks with the Curt Adjustable 2-Ball Mount # C45902. However, the # 34061071-D is designed for 2" hitches so it will not fit. For the hitch pin you need the # 34061072-D which is designed for a 2-1/2" receiver. The # 34061074-D can replace one of the pins on the adjustable channel as seen in the photos below.

  • Is The Curt Adjustable 2-Ball Mount Able To Come With A 1 7/8 Ball?
Hey Trevor, The Curt Adjustable Ball Mount # C45902 does not offer a 1-7/8" ball option. It is specifically designed for a 2" or 2-5/16" ball. If you are needing an adjustable ball mount with the 1-7/8" ball included for a 2-1/2" hitch I recommend the B&W # BWTS20049B. This is an 18k ball mount that includes a tri ball shank giving you all the standard ball sizes for towing. The curt you mention has a 6" drop, the B&W has a 7" drop, 7-1/2" rise for plenty of adjustability. Are you needing...

  • Can Anti-Rattle Rubber Insert be Used for 20K Curt Adjustable Shank for 2-1/2 inch Hitch Receiver
Yes it will! The Rubber Bumper # C45921 is a direct replacement for the Curt Adjustable Ball Mount # C45900 but the only differences between the shank that comes with that system and the Replacement Shank # C45917 that you referenced is the weight capacity and the size of the shank that fits into the hitch receiver. The ball mount kit # C45902 that the larger shank is a replacement for does come with an anti-rattle bolt that installs in one of those holes at the back-side but we have a...

  • Comparing Curt and Flash Adjustable 20,000LB 2-Ball Mount Hitches
The Curt Adjustable 2-Ball Mount # C45902 is manufactured overseas. If you are looking for a similar made in the USA adjustable ball mount the Flash Solid Steel HD Adjustable 2-Ball Mount # FA49-00-5625 has the same 2-1/2" receiver, 6" drop, 20,000lb rating with the 2-5/16" hitch ball and 2,000LB tongue weight rating. The Flash 2" hitch ball has 12,000lb rating versus only 10,000lbs on the Curt. The Hitch Lock and Adjustment Pin Lock Set # FA86-00-4225 will ensure that your ball mount...

  • Comparing Flash Solid Steel HD Adjustable 2-Ball Mount and Curt Channel Adjustable 2-Ball Mount
The weight of the Flash Solid Steel HD Adjustable 2-Ball Mount # FA49-00-5625 that you referenced is 37 lbs, and the weight of the Curt # C45902 is 36 lbs. So in that regard they are essentially the same. They really are quite a bit alike in most ways. Same capacity at 20,000 lbs, both fit 2-1/2 inch hitches, both can do same amount of drop at 6 inches, both are highly reviewed by our customers, and both have very similar prices. I'd say the edge goes to the Curt though since it has two...

  • Will Curt Lock Set Fit Curt Adjustable 2-Ball Mount for 2" and 2-1/2" Hitches
Yes, the Curt Lock Set # C23556 will work with both the # C45900 and # C45902 meaning the 2-1/2" hitch won't be a problem. The pair of locks comes keyed alike but there is no option to match the keys between the sets of locks.

As you can see from the diagram I made for you, the total height is 10-5/8" for the Curt Adjustable 2-Ball Mount # C45902. The # C45902 is for 2-1/2" hitches, comes with a dual 2" and 2-5/16" hitch ball with 10k and 20k respective capacities and also includes the pin and clip. For some added security you can add Hitch Receiver Lock # e98881.

  • Is there a Ball Mount Larger than a Class V 2-1/2 Inch
If your hitch receiver opening is larger than 2-1/2 inches then the next step up is a 3 inch if you are talking about physical size and not capacity. The 3 inch ball mount you need is # 40701 if this is the case. The hitch ball to fit is # C40085. This is not a common size though so I do recommend verifying the size of the receiver opening on the hitch. I have also included a link to our ball mount main page. If you mean capacity then the highest capacity 2-1/2 inch ball mount that we...

  • Anti-Rattle Device for Curt Adjustable Ball Mount # C45902 on a 2013 Ram 3500
There are 3 places of possible movement for Curt adjustable ball mount # C45902: the 2 pins that hold the ball to the shank and between the shank and the hitch itself. If you have that screw at the ball part nice and tight then you are probably getting movement at the hitch receiver. To keep the screw from coming loose a lock washer could be used. You can reduce or even eliminate movement at the hitch using an anti-rattle device such as # RSCP. With adjustable ball mounts like this there...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver For 1998 Chevy K3500
For a 1998 Chevrolet K Series 3500 Pickup, I recommend the Draw-Tite Ultra Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver Class IV - 2" # 41901. This is an extremely sturdy hitch that is easy to install. It will fit a standard or step bumper. For a roll-pan bumper, use # 41522. For your wiring, I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118315 to get a 4 way connection. Then you will want to add the # ETBC7 to get your 7 way connection along with the circuit breakers,...

  • Adjustable 20,000 lb Ball Mount Option with Silver Colored Hitch Ball

One possible solution for you is the Fastway E Series HD Adjustable 18K Ball Mount # FA42-00-2625. A nice feature about the Fastway ball mount is the corrosion resistant aluminum construction. • Why Do Rear Tires on Tandem Horse Trailer Run Hotter Than Those on Front Axle
If the tires on the rear axle of your tandem axle horse trailer are running hotter than those on the front axle, this could be due to several possible causes. One of these causes you mentioned; the trailer not being level when hitched. If the trailer rides nose-high this tends to place more of the trailer's load onto the rear axle. This could easily cause those rear tires to run hotter. All trailers tow best when they are level so if you need to switch ball mounts you can choose one with...

  • Best Trailer Hitch for a 2008 GMC Sierra 2500
The best trailer hitch for your 2008 GMC Sierra 2500 will vary depending on what you're going to use it for and possibly whether you have an 8 ft. or 6-1/2 ft. bed. If you need to haul a lot of weight I would suggest the Curt Class V CD 2-1/2" # C15703. This will get the most out of your truck for your dollar and will work with either length of truck beds. The Curt Class III # 13208 will also work with both bed lengths and would be more appropriate if you're not hauling as much weight. I...

Curt trailer hitches are manufactured in the USA but not the supplemental parts like ball mount # C45902. For one that is made in the USA and is similar I recommend # BWTS20037B. But it maxes out at 18K with the 2-5/16 inch ball. The Curt model # C45902 is the only option we have in an adjustable ball mount for 2-1/2 inch hitches that can reach 20K.
