Today we're going to take a look at the replacement 2 and 2-5/16" dual-sided ball for Curt 2-1/2" adjustable ball mount. Now, this is a direct replacement from Curt for the ball mount that goes with that original Curt channel-style adjustable ball mount. That part number is C45902. That is sold separately if you want to get a whole new kit, you'd use that part number, but this is just going to replace the hitch ball itself.Now, it doesn't come with the pins to mount this to the shank of our ball mount itself so you will need to reuse your original pins or pick up some new ones.The whole thing is going to be made of a zinc-plated steel so it can be a very durable cast steel construction. We'll have our 2-5/16" ball, this is going to have a tow capacity of up to 20,000 pounds. The 2" ball is going to have a tow capacity of up to 10,000 pounds.This ball mount is designed to work with that Curt channel-style ball mount that has a 2-1/2" size so it'll work with the Class IV and V inch hitches.
That basically just means that that shank is going to be 2-1/2" by 2-1/2" so that's what this will fit into.As far the dimensions for our ball mount itself, going from the center of the ball to the center of our attachment point, it's going to be about 3-1/2", that's about how much clearance you'll have going from the ball mount out to your coupler. Overall, it's going to be about 5" long and it's going to stand about 7" tall, again, overall, and then the widest point will be that back portion and that's going to be 3" wide. So it will fit into our channel with that 3" wide opening.That's going to do it for our look at the replacement 2" and 2-5/16" dual-sided ball for Curt 2-1/2" adjustable ball mount.
