Question:
I am interested in the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller - Dash Knob - 1 to 2 Axles - Proportional Plug-and-Play Wiring Harness for Redarc Tow-Pro Trailer Brake Controllers Part Numbers: RED24FR,RED39FR It is replacing an existing brake controller that is malfunctioning. But I do not know if I need the one with the factory tow package or without. I had a 7 pin trailer plug installed already and the old wiring harness plugs in under the dash. I have a 2009 nissan pathfinder.

Martin, that sounds like you have the factory tow package then. Typically this includes a hitch with wiring (usually a 7 way or 4 pole) already installed, as well as a port under the dash for you to easy plug into.
So since you're interested in the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller # RED24FR you'd just need the Plug-and-Play Wiring Harness for Redarc Tow-Pro Trailer Brake Controllers # RED39FR and you'd be good to go.

Hey Martin, how did things go with the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty and the plug-and-play harness on your Pathfinder? Did the connection under the dash match up as expected? Your update could make it easier for others replacing an older brake controller.
