Roadmaster Anti-Sway Bar Installed

Benefits of an Anti-Sway System

The Roadmaster anti-sway bar does for side-to-side movement what a good pair of shocks does for up-and-down motion. You will notice a marked improvement in your vehicle's stability as the bar works to balance weight transfer and reduce body roll. The anti-sway bar acts as a link between your vehicle's frame and its rear axle, using the axle as a brace to more effectively balance the shifting weight of your vehicle as you maneuver it. Lubricated bushings allow just enough pivot and rotation to compensate for the pressure placed on one side of your vehicle when it goes into sudden maneuvers, hits crosswinds or encounters shifting weights.

Roadmaster Anti-Sway Polyurethane Bushings

Superior Construction

The Roadmaster anti-sway bar is made of 4140 chromoly, a chromium and molybdenum steel alloy. This type of steel is considerably harder and stronger than the standard 1020 steel that is typically used in anti-sway applications. In addition, the larger diameter of the bar increases its torsional roll stiffness. The result is a bar that is not only stronger than the competition, but also nearly 30 percent better at resisting sway. The polyurethane bushings and grommets used at the attachment points are durable yet flexible, ensuring that the system is neither so rigid nor so malleable that it becomes ineffective.

  • Does Roadmaster Swaybar part # RM-120-120 Fit a 2016 Mercedes Benz Sprinter RV
The Roadmaster rear sway bar part # RM-1209-120 is a confirmed fit for your 2016 Mercedes Benz Sprinter 3500 RV. This will tighten up the handling quite a bit. I actually laughed out loud at how you described it's current handling characteristics! The install process is pretty straight forward and any local mechanic to you who has a good reputation would have no problem. I attached a link to the install instructions for you to check out or to show to a mechanic to give them an idea on...

  • How To Improve the Ride on a 2014 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 3500 Chassis
The SumoSprings Maxim Custom Helper Springs like part # SSR-336-47-1 do indeed offer a better ride quality when compared to the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs like part # SSR-338-47 which is what I assume you are referring to. However, the SumoSprings Maxim Custom Helper Springs will only work for you if you have the standard axle configuration and not the 2" spacer (see photo). If you do have this spacer which most Sprinters do then you will want to consider the Roadmaster Rear...

  • Recommended Rear Anti-Sway Bar For 2013 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Motorhome
We do offer rear anti-sway bars for your 2013 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. If you have a 2500 the rear anti-sway I recommend is part # RM-1209-128. Using this bar helps reduce the effects of crosswinds and shifting cargo or passing vehicles. It attaches to the rear axle and chassis and includes the mounting hardware. If your motorhome is a 3500, the rear anti-sway bar you would need is part # RM-1209-120. I have attached a photo that shows how the anti-sway bar is normally attached on a...

  • Rear Suspension Enhancement Recommendation for 2018 Jayco Melbourne Prestige 24LT
Hi Rick; for your 2018 Jayco Melbourne Prestige 24LT I recommend adding the SumoSprings Rebel Custom Helper Springs # SSR-339-47-2 along with the Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar # RM-1209-120. The sway bar will really cut down that side to side movement and add stability. The SumoSprings Rebel will also assist with sway since they operate independently. They will also help compensate for off-center loads like your slide-out which is something you wont' get with the Hellwig. In addition...

  • Difference Between the Factory and Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar on a 2019 MCB Sprinter 3500
The Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar part # RM-1209-120 (Cutaway Models) will preform better than the factory rear anti-sway bar on your 2019 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 3500 because it is thicker (1-3/8") which means it will be stronger therefore helping to further decrease side-to-side movement. The Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar also comes with polyurethane bushings which will be more durable as well as less noisy than the rubber bushing you have on the factory rear anti-sway bar. • Sway Bars & SumoSprings For Reducing Body Roll 2017 Winnebago View 24G On Mercedes Sprinter Chassis
Adding the additional rear Sway Bar # RM-1209-131 is going to provide you with more stability over just replacing the factory bar with the Sway Bar # RM-1209-120 on your 2017 Winnebago View 24G. Combining both of the bars with the Front # SSF-106-47 and Rear # SSR-338-54 SumoSprings will greatly increase the overall stability of your Winnebago and cut down on the body roll.

  • Anti-Sway Bars for 2020 Winnebago on MB Sprinter Chassis
I would add the Roadmaster # RM-1209-120 rear anti-sway bar. This 1-3/8" diameter sway bar is very rigid and will keep everything tight. If this does not result in the level of stability you desire, then you can move on to shocks. At some point you start subtracting from comfort-of-ride, so it is best to add, then test, then add again if needed.

  • Recommended Sway Bar for 2018 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 3500
For your 2018 Mercedes Benz Sprinter 3500, there is not a front sway bar compatible, but there are a couple rear sway bar options according to my contact at Roadmaster. The Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar for Vans # RM-1209-120 is a factory sway bar replacement that is 1-3/8 inch diameter. The Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar for Vans # RM-1209-131 is also an option that fits your vehicle, but this one is 1-1/2 inches diameter and retains the factory sway bar for more stability. • Are New Shocks Required When Adding Anti-Sway Bar and SumoSprings To 2013 Mercedes Sprinter 3500?
As long as the shocks on your 2013 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 3500 are still in good shape, there is no reason to replace them. However if they are worn out you will notice quite a difference once the replacements are installed. We do not sell shock absorbers for vehicles so I do no have a recommendation on which ones to get, though an OEM replacement would be preferred. If you have not already decided on which sway bar and SumoSprings you plan on ordering I recommend the Roadmaster Rear...

We do not have an option for front anti-sway bar on the 2018 Mercedes Benz Sprinter 3500. However, there are two options for the rear, the Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar, # RM-1209-120 is a factory sway bar replacement that is 1-3/8 inch diameter. The Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar that I suggest, # RM-1209-131 is also an option that fits your vehicle, but is 1-1/2 inches diameter and retains the factory sway bar enhancing stability.

  • 2009 Itasca Navion Suspension Enhancement Suggestions
In a Class C motorhome addressing body roll/sway is a common issue. Suspension on the cutaway van chassis that most Class C's are built on is adequate with a van body on the chassis. However, when coach builders place a significantly different body on the chassis that obviously changes the dynamics and many OEM coach builders fail to upgrade/enhance those now less effective suspension components. I do have an option for you but there are not air springs available for the 2017 Thor Class B Gemini on the Ford Transit Chassis. I recommend to use a Roadmaster Anti-Sway Bar part # RM-1209-120 to minimize sway. For that you'd want the part # RM-1209-120 which is a confirmed fit and would work well. This will greatly help your ride quality. For a set of SumoSprings for the rear we have the part # SSR-336-47-1 which will work well too. SumoSprings are highly recommended in the RV world because of how well they perform.
