Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look together at this Dometic Penguin II 13,500 BTU multi-zone black RV air conditioner with heat pump. Now this air conditioner unit is going to let you replace, upgrade, or add a new Dometic Penguin II air conditioner to your RV or camper. This ultra low profile design is going to help minimize wind resistance to improve fuel efficiency and overhead clearance. This 13,500 BTU per hour air conditioner is going to quickly and efficiently cool the inside of your RV or camper. Now this is going to be compatible with your ducted and ductless systems.
And this is designed for motor homes, travel trailers and fifth wheels. But I do wanna point out that this has not been approved for use on school buses, food trucks, enclosed utility trailers or off-roading vehicles, because typically those roofs on those types of vehicles are not built with the support needed to handle the weight of an air conditioner system. Or there might be too much flex in those roofs that could potentially damage the air conditioner unit while you're going down the road. Now this is a bolt-on installation, however, the hardware is not included to mount this or to install this in place. And this also does require a CCCII thermostat and an air distribution box.
Those items are sold separately. And I do wanna show you the model number there on your screen for the thermostat that you're gonna need for this unit if you don't already have one. And the air distribution boxes also, depending on your particular application, can be found at the lower portion of this product page under the the related parts section. Now this is going to fit roofs from 1 1/2 inches to six inches thick with an opening size of 14 1/4 inches long by 14 1/4 inches wide. And just to go over some measurements of this unit itself, measuring the length from end to end, we're about 40 1/2 inches long.
And then measuring the width again from end to end about 29 inches wide. And then the overall height about 11 1/4 inches tall. And this weighs pretty close to 100 pounds in between 95 and 100 pounds. And I went ahead and removed the screws from the cover so I could quickly and easily remove it just to show you the inside. So let me go ahead and do that for you.
So I can give you a view here. And so this air conditioner does feature a high performance motor and fan. And let me go ahead and just give this a quick turn so you can see the other side there from that angle. And so that high performance motor and fan are gonna give you sufficient airflow. I wanna give you an overhead look as well just so you can see from that angle. Let me line this up here for you in the frame. And the enhanced cooling performance is going to evenly distribute cool air throughout your RV to eliminate hotspots. This does feature an internal heat pump that's gonna be perfect for cooler weather, sending warm air into your RV and pumping the chilled air out to the outside. The quiet operation is going to ensure a more peaceful atmosphere then most traditional air conditioner units. And the efficient design is going to require less refrigerant than traditional air conditioner units reducing operational costs. Now let me go ahead and replace the cover. And by the way, this is a hard plastic cover. So I think this is going to do a great job of protecting the internal components from debris and water and things like that. So I think that's gonna hold up pretty well for you. I think it's going to be able to resist the elements that it's going to be constantly exposed to. There were, if you saw, let me go ahead and just show that to you again real quick, just pop that off. As you can see, this does have foam seals here to prevent heat transfer. I know you probably already saw that, but I just wanted to point that out. But as you can see, this cover is, once you have the screws removed, it's gonna be very easy to remove and replace. This cover is held in place by four Phillips head screws. And so if you ever, ever, yeah, if you ever need to do any maintenance or do any cleaning, it's gonna be very easy to remove that cover. The top view there as well. Let me go for a lower angle here. I did wanna point out that this does feature a ribbed base pan. It's a metal pan, it's gonna give you stability, and reduce vibration. We have foam pads here underneath as well where those foam pads are going to be in between the roof of your RV and this air conditioner. So you'll have some protection, and it'll also help with vibration and noise reduction and things like that. I wanted to give you a good view of the harness here. When you get your air conditioner, the harness is going to be stuffed up here in the front opening here underneath the air conditioner. So I just went ahead and pulled that out. Just to give you a view there of the harness that's going to be with this multi-zone unit. This air conditioner is UL certified. And I think that's gonna wrap up our quick look today. I do hope that our time together has been helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy, thank you for joining me.
