Question:
We recently purchased a 2018 Jayco Melbourne Prestige 24LT, which is based on the MB Sprinter 3500 with dual wheels at the rear. The previous owner modified the front with the addition of Koni struts and coils. The rear has Fox 2.0 shocks and a Agile Offroad leaf spring pack with nine leafs rated at 7500 lbs! The problem is that the rear sits 6.25inch higher than the front, and Agile Offroad says that 2inch of that lift is due to the leaf packs physical dimensions. The rest is due to its 7500 lb. rated capacity. It also rides pretty rough. The stock leafs 3 in total are rated at 5000 lbs. which is what the Sprinter 3500 4X2 comes with. Its generally acknowledged that the stock leafs are too light for a 25foot motorhome, and many owners upgrade with Sumosprings and a Hellwig anti-sway in the rear or other combination of after-market measures. I am going to remove the AO 7500 lb rated leaf spring pack and replace it with the stock setup in an attempt to level the motorhome, but I know the performance will suffer swaying / wallowing, etc.. So Im looking for recommendations on how to enhance the rear suspension once its back to stock leaf springs. Note that Supersprings doesnt offer anything for the Sprinter 3500 at this time, so Im looking at the Hellwig Pro Series. Do I also need the Hellwig sway bars and / or the Sumosprings? Id love to get your recommendations.

Hi Rick; for your 2018 Jayco Melbourne Prestige 24LT I recommend adding the SumoSprings Rebel Custom Helper Springs # SSR-339-47-2 along with the Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar # RM-1209-120. The sway bar will really cut down that side to side movement and add stability.
The SumoSprings Rebel will also assist with sway since they operate independently. They will also help compensate for off-center loads like your slide-out which is something you wont' get with the Hellwig. In addition to this they will help absorb road bumps and shocks to help smooth out your ride. The two combined will give you a nice comfortable ride with great control.
