Question:
What is the difference between a C194 marker light bulb and a 194.

Expert Reply:
A 194 type bulb is used in many applications. In certain cases, let's say in use inside an amber-lens trailer clearance light, you might want to use the yellow Putco Mini-Halogen Bulbs # P211194Y
instead of a standard clear incandescent filament bulb # A194B. Or for the brightest light output with maximum power efficiency you could use an amber/yellow LED 194 type, such as 2-pack # ARC78FR.
Type 194 light bulbs, whether incandescent or halogen or LED, will fit interchangeably in many applications. A bulb labeled C194 will still be a 194 bulb. The letter prefix could mean clear but we do not carry a part C194.
LEDs are ideal for use when minimum heat generation and the longest possible working lifespan are desired. For lowest cost the incandescent # A194B is the best option.
