Video Transcript for An In-Depth Look at the Mounting Bolts and Hardware for 12" Single Brake Assembly

Today we're going to take a look at the mounting bolts and hardware for a 12-inch single brake assembly. Now this hardware will allow you to install one trailer brake assembly to the five-bolt brake-mounting phalange on your trailer axle. It is designed to fit the 12-inch bake assembly without the pre-installed mounting bolts, and it will work on electric or hydraulic brakes. It includes everything shown here on the table. It includes five of the one-and-a-quarter inch long by three-eighths inch diameter mounting bolts. The head on the mounting bolt is nine-sixteenths of an inch.

I got a socket here, you can see it fits that. Also, comes with the five three-eighths by 24 nuts, and they are the same size. Nine-sixteenths size. It also comes with the five lock washers. That should do it for the review on the mounting bolts and hardware for a 12-inch single brake assembly..

  • Trailer Brakes for 12 Inch Hub and Drum
The Electric Trailer Brake with Dust Shield - Self-Adjusting # AKEBRK-8R have an 8,000 lb capacity and measure 12-1/4 inches in diameter and 3-3/8 inches wide so that is the dimension your drum would need to be. These fit a 4-bolt mounting flange such as # 4-50 and would require Mounting Hardware # BRKH122508. If you have 12 inch drums there are options for that, the Electric Trailer Brake Assembly - Self-Adjusting # AKEBRK-7L-SA (Left) and # AKEBRK-7R-SA (Right) which are 12 inches in...

  • Is There a Difference Between Brake Assembly Replacement for Dexter Nev-R-Adjust 23-459
The only difference between those parts is the part number - they are the exact same brake assembly. The Electric Trailer Brake Assembly - Self-Adjusting - 12" - Right Hand # AKEBRK-7R-SA would be a perfect replacement for the Dexter Nev-R-Adjust Electric Trailer Brake Assembly - 12" - Right Hand # 23-459. To install it you only need the Mounting Bolts and Hardware for 12" Single Brake Assembly # BRKH12S. If you are looking for the left side at any point, that would be the Electric Trailer...

  • Dexter 7,000 lb 12 Inch Hydraulic Drum Trailer Brakes w/ Parking Brake to Replace Tex Trail 6400070
We do! I did some research and the Tex Trail 6400070 is the right hand Dexter 12 inch, 7,000 lb hydraulic drum brake with parking brake lever, and our part number for that brake is the following: - Dexter Uni-Servo Hydraulic Trailer Brake Assembly w/ Parking Brake Lever - 12" - Right Hand # T2351200 This is the same as 6400070, and to mount it you will need the Mounting Bolts and Hardware for 12" Single Brake Assembly # BRKH12S. Just to be thorough, if you did want to replace both the...

  • Will Dexter Electric Brakes for 6,000 lb Axle Work With 7,500 lb Axles
The Dexter Electric Brake Kit for 4 Bolt or 5 Bolt Flange # 23-105-106-09 will work so long as your hub and drum is 12" diameter x 2" wide, you have a AL-KO/Hayes 4-bolt or standard 5-bolt brake flange and 14-1/2", 15" or 16" wheels. So long as you meet all those requirements you can use these brakes and be just fine. To mount three of these assemblies you will also need three of the Mounting Bolts and Hardware for 12" Single Brake Assembly # BRKH12S. I have added a link to a video review...

  • 5,200 Lb Timbren Axle-Less System With Compatible Hub, Drum and Electric Brakes
The Warner-style brake assemblies are no longer made and replacement parts are essentially non-existent at this point, so really your best option is going to be replacing your hub and drum as well as brake assemblies. You may also need to weld on a new brake mounting flange, which will be determined by the diameter of your axle. In order to find the correct replacement hubs for your trailer you need to know the weight rating of your axle, and also what bearings your current hub has. You...

  • Replacement Electric Trailer Brake Assembly for Axletek Hub BD-655
From that number you supplied, it appears you have axles that are 5,200-lb to 6,000-lb with a 12" - 6 on 5-1/2 bolt pattern. For brake assemblies I recommend # AKEBRK-7R-SA for the right hand side and # AKEBRK-7L-SA for the left. This is a self-adjusting 12' brake assembly, mounting bolts and hardware, # BRKH12S sold separately. If you do decide you need to replace the hub and drum assembly, I recommend, # AKHD-655-6-K. This is an etrailer replacement hub and drum assembly supplied...

  • Correct Replacement Electric Drum Brakes for 12 Inch Axle Tek Hubs on 2010 Dutchmen Aerolite
It sounds like you're looking for electric brake assemblies to fit your 12 inch Axle Tek hubs. If so, the Electric Trailer Brake Kit # AKEBRK-6 would be the correct kit. This includes a left and a right hand side manual adjusting brake assembly, so for two axles, you'd just need two kits. We also have part # AKEBRK-7-SA, if you're looking for self-adjusting brakes. And for the mounting hardware (nuts, bolts and lock-washers) you can use part # BRKH12S.

  • Replacement Brake Assemblies for Axle Tek B12EA-24
I was able to cross reference the B12EA-24 and AxleTek 12-GG numbers you gave me and found the exact replacement you're looking for. For the Left Assembly you will want part # AKEBRK-7L-SA and for the Right Hand assembly you will want part # AKEBRK-7R-SA. These brake assemblies are made by AxleTek and measure 12 x 2 inches. These assemblies come in a quantity of 1 so if this is a tandem axle trailer you would need to order 2 of each of these assemblies. Since these do not come with mounting...

  • Replacement Brake Assembly For B12EA-22 on Forest River 27DTSS Travel Trailer
We offer a compatible replacement brake assembly. You'll need # AKEBRK-7R-SA for the right replacement brake assembly and # AKEBRK-7L-SA for the left. Both assemblies are self adjusting. If you need replacement mounting hardware, use # BRKH12S, which provides hardware for one brake assembly. In order to recommend a replacement brake drum, I'll need to know the reference numbers off of your inner and outer wheel bearings and the bolt pattern of your current hubs.

  • Can Timbren 5200 lb Axle-Less Suspension Be Installed on I-Beam Trailer Frame
The Timbren # TASR5200S03 can absolutely be used on a trailer with an I-beam frame, but you'll need to weld a piece of steel plate onto the outboard side of the I-beam to box off the frame so the Timbren system can attach properly. Timbren doesn't offer the 5200 lb system complete with hubs and brake assemblies but I'd be happy to recommend hub/drums and brake assemblies for you. It's the right hand side, like you mentioned and part # 23-105 is the left, or you can get the kit of them together with part # 23-105-106. • Should Lock Washer be Used for Factory 12x2 Brake Assemblies
Not necessarily. Some brake assemblies have Loctite like part # LT37423 on the bolts while other assemblies, like part # AKEBRK-7L-SA, require mounting hardware that includes lock nuts like what you would find in the kit # BRKH12S. If your brakes have Loctite on the mounting bolts then you don't really have to worry about the lock nuts on them.

  • Which Brake Assemblies to Replace Rockwell 4074L and 4074R
The Rockwell 4704L and 4704R are standard 12x2 electric brake assemblies. I'd recommend using # AKEBRK-6L for the left and # AKEBRK-6R for the right. Install hardware is available separately as # BRKH12S. When you get the hub/drum pulled off, be sure to inspect the inside armature surface of the drum that the brake magnet rides against. If it's pitted or grooved, you'll want to replace the brake drums as well. For a 6-bolt, use # 42866UC3-EZ or # 8-201-9UC3-EZ for an 8-bolt. The hub/drums...
