Question:
Hello Jon, Thank you for this! I was not aware that a battery-operated shade kit was available. However, I am a bit old-school. Is the Solara Hybrid hand-crank available as a kit in white? I'd need the awning material, too. My current A&E is 13 feet 5/16 inches, measured center to center of the support posts, so I'm thinking a 13-foot awning kit is what I'd need. Thank you.

To upgrade your A&E awning you can either use the 12V Solera Conversion Kit, White # LC434724 or Black # LC434723, OR the 18V Solera Conversion Kit, White # LC434730 or Black # LC434729.
Both options use electricity to extend and retract the awning, but they also include manual overrides so that you can do it by hand in the event of a power failure.
The 12V kits connect directly to the 12V power of your RV while the 18V version uses it's own (rechargeable) battery so it's a little easier to install. Since you have a completely manual awning right now I recommend going with the 18V version so that you don't have to mess with routing wires on your trailer.
