I am looking to convert my Dometic manual awning to the rechargeable electric model. My questions is, I currently have a 20 pull awning, has a support bar in the middle. Would I still need the middle support bar, or will the hardware support the weight of the awning without it. I have a 2004 Gulf Steam Innsbruck 265tbs travel trailer Thank you for your assistance

Hey Susanne. The Solera Manual Retractable Awning to Electric RV Awning Conversion Kit you were looking at, does not work with Dometic awnings only Solera ones, but I have an alternative.
It looks like your 2004 Gulf Steam Innsbruck 265tbs travel trailer came with a Dometic A&E 8500 Series manual awning. If this is accurate you can use the Solera 12V Electric RV Awning Conversion Kit item # LC434724 in white or item # LC434723 in black. This kit replaces your existing awning arms, along with the idler and drive heads. It also includes all the electrical components you'll need to get up and running.
I highly recommend you confirming what model Dometic awning you have. You can find that information on the sticker on the roller tube.
