Brackets Needed To Mount Lippert Pull-Out RV Steps To A Wooden Storage Space

Updated 11/11/2024 | Published 11/09/2024

Question:

Id like to use these steps to build a retractable access to an attic storage space. Is there a brackets I could purchase to attach the unit to the underside of a wood platform that would serve as a landing?

Hey Steve,

Steps like the Alumi-Tread Manual Pull-Out Step for RVs # LC432698 are attached directly to the frame using the side brackets. These have a bunch of pre-drilled holes in them to attach to the frame of the RV from below. If you're wanting something a bit sturdier then you can pick up some relocation brackets # LC301704, which would mount to the sides of the step brackets and have a much larger lip to secure to the underside of the wood platform.

Are there similar brackets of I wanted to use the SolidStep instead? Thanks.

@SolidO Unfortunately there are not. Fold down steps like the Lippert SolidStep require mounting to the floor just behind the door threshold so there really isn't bracket option to accommodate the way you want to mount these.
