Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a brief look together at the CIPA Replacement Clamp. This is going to replace one clamp for your CIPA Universal Fit Towing Mirror with adjustable length bar. And on your screen, I am including the model number of that mirror that this is going to fit. And as you probably know, two replacement clamps are required per mirror, so if you need both of them, you will have to pick up two of these.
And this is the direct replacement from CIPA. So what that means for you is you can trust that this is going to fit right in place of that original, whether that got misplaced somehow or maybe damaged, you're not gonna have to worry about compatibility issues, fit issues, or anything like that. This will fit right in place. Well, I think that's gonna wrap up our real quick look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you.

This clamp is used on an travel trailer extended mirror, purchased from etrailer last summer. I read the reviews on its recommended clamps and learned it had minor issues (from just a couple) with holding the mirror firmly enough in transit.
The reviews claimed the clamp didn’t take hold well enough in highway speeds. I thought to me self, well why not go with 3 clamps rather than the 2 the mirror came with?
I ordered 1 extra and used them accordingly. They worked out great in my opinion. I had 0 issues driving up to 70 mph for 4+ hours.
The only issue I had was one of the clamps broke at the under side portion after apparently over tightening it, at the end of our season here in MN.
I reordered 2 more clamps (1 for a spare)
just to be sure I’ll have the “important 3rd clamp” to use in the future. I only use a divers side mirror.
I say they work as designed, just be cautious when tightening them to your mirror(s), you’ll be fine.
Maybe the clamp design should be used with a stronger (metal) material. These appear to be a composit type material.
Idea is great. Actual part not so great. C clamp part should be made out of a stronger material.
Received these towing mirrors and from the look of the construction and quality these are going to work fine. Purchased a few additional mounting brackets to carry in case we need them down the road. Actually mounting these at the bottom of my original mirrors and that works very well with them. Installed yesterday to check view and range of these mirrors that is excellent and I can kick them out more if needed. They are easy to work with and very adjustable. Overall they had good reviews except for a few people who complained of them loosening or moving. The thing is you need to check any mirror addition and keep an eye on them. Don't under tighten but don't over tighten and strip out the threads either. I don't think that will be a problem if your careful. They are well made and have much more flexibility then previous products I have used over the years. Good investment at a fair price.
I am torn about this product. They attach as advertised and held very well through a couple of long trips. Based on this, I would have rated them at a 5 stars. I lower the score because one the clips did break. The clips should be made of metal instead of plastic. The plastic is very thin and does break easily if overtightened.
I bought this product because some of the reviews for the mirror mentioned that the clamps broke due to excessive tightening. So I bought one just in case of that happening to me on a long trip. I'm happy to say that I haven't had to use it, because the mirror has performed well without cranking down excessively. But I'm giving it 5 stars because I think it is a good Idea to have a spare and I'm happy that the manufacturer makes it available, rather than having to buy a whole new mirror if a clamp does break.
This is our second order because we want to always have extras on hand in case something happens because they are the greatest thing ever. We love them. Thank you

For a $10.00 replacement part, they are very cheaply made!! The back of the clamp seems to be made of “pot metal” and will crystalize and break off very easily!
bought my add on towing mirrors from etrailer and had broken clamp, contacted etrailer and they sent me new one no charge. Also ordered water pressure regulator and spare tire lock. Happy with purchases and will order again . Thanks again!!
I have purchased three (3) mirrors which are held on with this product. Three because one of them came off as I came up to expressway speed. Prior to that point I had been hauling my RV on a very rough road. Things went better on the next trip because I tightened the CM11980C with channel locks. Problem: I did not realize the clamp is a plastic product. I was able to save the mirror but needed some new and additional clamps. Next camping season I will use three CM1980C clamps for each mirror. I the future you might want to consider a metal product. Thank you for the prompt delivery and an opportunity to comment.

buyer wont see the cracks developing until the mirror falls off!
However, these mounts are the only ones which will fit onmy Santa Fe, so I am handcuffed....

the clamp arrived in the mail but, it did not match toe picture shown above.
The part missing is 5the 2nd clamp that fetched to the mirror bar. Is there an extra charge for the other clamp?

After a year, clamps are still perfect, like new.
