Question:
Do the clamps CM11980C have a thin rubber pad where it slips between the mirror and housing like the Milenco mirror clamps do? What is the diameter of the rod where it slips into these clamps? I had tried the Milenco Aero 2912 available at Home Depot but these mirror shook at idle and worse at highway speeds on my 3rd gen Tacoma. Thanks

Hey Mike on the # CM11980C there is a ribbed rubber pad that gets pressed down on the mirror housing when you tighten them down. This is so the mirror has something to grab onto so that it doesn't slip off. This does not allow a bunch of movement like what you noticed on the other mirror you tried. The feedback we've gotten on the # CM11980-2 has been very good and that it does not shake or vibrate.

Thanks for the reply. The ribbed rubber block contacts the outside of the mirror housing but what about the tapered piece that gets pulled against that rubber block between the stock mirror edge and the housing? I can't tell from the picture if it has a thin piece of rubber like the Milenco mirrors doe.
