Ellen: Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com and we're going to be taking a look at the CIPA rear view boat mirror. This helps you to see what's going on behind you so that you can make sure that there's no traffic, you can kind of get a good idea of what's going on, even if that's just checking on what's going on with your passengers in the backseat. So this is going to be a nice wide view mirror, it helps to eliminate any kind of blind spots you might have. So you're not having to crank over your shoulder to see what's going on. It's also going to be a really easy to install mirror as well.
So let's take a little closer look at it and see what it has to offer. So you can see a pretty good view of my office here gives you a nice kind of fisheye view of what's going on.So it definitely gives you a really wide range of viewing area at the back. We turn it around, this is how we're going to mount this in place. It's going to have this kind of ball socket joint. So as you tighten up the screw, that's going to push on that and help to hold it in place.
This does need to go with a bracket that is sold separately to mount this. You can find that here at etrailer.com, it is a related part on the product page here at etrailer so that's a easy way to find it. As far as the housing, it is an ABS plastic, and it is impact resistant. So even if it happens to get nicked or hit by any kind of rocks or anything that might be flying at you, it should have shouldn't have any issues with that. Again, pretty easy to get this installed, just needs that bracket that is sold separately. As far as the size for this guy, we go from edge to edge.
It's just about 17 and seven eighths inches long, so pretty close to 18 inches long or wide, however you want to say that. And then top to bottom, it's about six inches tall and front to back about three inches or about four and a half if we include that mounting knob. It is covered by a one-year warranty and that's pretty much all there is to it for our look at the CIPA rear view boat mirror. I hope this video has been helpful in deciding if this is the right mirror for you. If not, we do have some other options available here at etrailer.com.
So check them out. Thanks for watching..

This rearview boat mirror helps to reduce blind spots for safe navigation on the water. The convex mirror face provides wide-angle views. Impact-resistant ABS plastic housing. Clamps to windshield or dash using a separate mounting bracket. We use two. They are easy to install. Additionally, the mirrors provide a great clear wide view.
Service was great, but the mirror was kind of cheap and it was popping loose of the backing.
I am happy with my purchase
Wasn't too impressed with the clarity of the lens.
Other than that it's fine.
Mirror is perfect for my application. Inexpensive, yet practical for my boat and it screwed right on as advertised.
Great product!
The reflective material is very poor quality. I used once and was so frustrated I junked it. Hardly a “mirror”
So far, it appears to be of good quality
Ordered mirror for my Bad Boy, extreme ranch golf cart w/ wench and knobby tires. It mounted in much less time than I expected. AND it works perfectly, offering me a rear view of approaching vehicles when I drive it around small town.
I needed a good rearview mirror for inside my steering station on a new to me C.Dory 22 boat. I wanted to be able to see out the back of the boat to see what was behind me. This mirror came with a bracket that I could mount to the center shelf area above the entry to the V-berth. It works well for me for the purpose I needed it.
Glad I have but the clamping channel is a bit to flexible.
Scratched my chrome at the windshield. Fell off doesn't work with the thickness of my 230 Sea Ray...glass...
I installed and I went on the water. after a while with waves it kept coming loose, It was more trouble than it was worth. I have bought several items from etrailer and always be satisfied . The boat mirror did not rate very high .
It is a stable mirror (when it is installed correctly) and the rear view is complete. It’s easy to move from boat to boat (we are a member of a boat club so that’s important) and as long as there is a windshield (not a wind deflector) up front, consistent performance can be expected. So far it seems to be quite durable as well.
Great all around service and follow up!
Highly recommended!
Bought this mirror for a John Deere Gator we have at work about a year ago. Our security officer drives the Gator around our parking lots regularly throughout the day. With all the traffic in and out of our parking lot we thought this rearview mirror would give the driver better visibility, especially from cars/trucks that might be following them or ready to pass the Gator. This mirror was worked really well and we side mounted it.
Thanks for selling us a great product. And thanks for the great customer service you have provided me over the years.
Seems fine - only problem is placement. The ideal placement requires taking off whenever we cover the boat - it is not in a boathouse, so that happens frequently!
Good product at good price. Mounting bracket not the best but works for my purposes.
This mirror is a perfect fit for the windshield on my center console boat. I do not ski anymore but would be great for keeping an eye on the skier, tuber, or wake boarder. I use it to keep an eye on any boat traffic that may be behind me. It lends itself for many other applications such as on tractors, dozers, & other heavy equipment. Works great in my golf cart!!!
i have used etrailer a few times and always satisfied the product descriptions are accurate the prices are fair and the delivery was prompt with no problems i have already told a few friends that whatever they need for their trailer or other accessories try etrailer first
I'm not actually using this on a boat, but rather in an old Suburban. My rearview mirror kept falling off, so I decided to look for an alternative to constantly reglueing it on. I found these suction cup mirrors for boats and decided to try it out. I figured that even if it falls off at some point all I have to do is stick it back up and if it's strong enough to hold on a boat on the water, it should definitely be okay in a car. I have not had a chance to drive with it on yet, but it has been suctioned to the vehicle for a couple of days now and is still holding. It is quite a bit larger than a regular rear view mirror but on an old truck, it is hardly in the way and actually gives great visibility.
As usual I’m completely satisfied with this mirror. New to boating and wanted a mirror to help see behind me. Works great covers a wide area, very please. I thought do to the cost, it would be junk but it wasn’t. I’ve come to realize E-trailer doesn’t sell junk.
It was fastened per instructions, transporting to boat ramp was 4 Hour Drive. Upon arrival mirror had come off cruising down the highway
Just as described. Large suction cup adheres well to curved windshield on pontoon boat. Convex glass mirror provides good field of view for towing precious cargo on inflatables.
Installed this item as a side mirror on my golf cart. Works well. Good purchase.
